Seraph & Blue Angel

The river was full and flowing gently, though a bit quicker than usual due to the falling rain that rippled the clear water. A thermal vent far upriver warmed the water and made it safer for the tropical species which seemed to be common here, possibly by releasing pet fish into the river for many of the fishes' generations.
One species that appeared to be quite common were the freshwater angelfish, Pterophyllum scalare. The medium-sized, disk-shaped, long-finned fish added flash and color to the otherwise dull, rocky river.
Two of these angelfish hovered slowly near the reedy shore. Seraph, a golden, pearly angelfish was accompanied by his mate, Blue Angel, a gray angelfish. They seemed quite peaceful at this time; food was plentiful and the weather was nice. But even with these perfect conditions, it looked like they were the only ones here. For now.

Jet, Heather & Nightmare

Jet swam with his two mates Heather and Nightmare. They hadn't been living here long, and had yet to see others like them. Much like the other angelfish good fortune, they've had plenty to eat and good weather as well, most of the time. The gold marble angelfish swam in the back, Heather being the closest to him, while Nightmare choose which direction to go as usual. They didn't notice the other angelfish right away, that is till Nightmare, the marble angelfish spotted them first. It wasn't too long till the other two noticed, and they slowed their swim till they were nearly not moving, while still watching the others.. Nightmare being more adventurous would occasionally swim a little closer before swimming back toward Heather and Jet.

Seraph & Blue Angel

Blue Angel was a beautiful fish, her long fins flowing with the slight current. Her blue-gray scales mostly lacked the sheen of most angelfish, though there were spots of iridescence scattered around.
The blue female hovered close by her friend. Seraph, a bright golden male, watched the surroundings carefully. He was a tough fish, and somewhat territorial to go along with his personality, but he was mellowing out a bit.
It was Blue Angel who noticed Jet and his mate. Seraph saw them soon after, keeping a wary eye on them. Blue Angel, however, was happy to see more of her kind, so she spoke up. "Hello?" Her voice was calm and smooth, almost melodious.

Jet and others.

Jet stared at Blue Angel a little intrigued by her beauty. He swam closer to Nightmare when she went even more closer. The whole time he was eyeing the other male. Waiting to see if he would do anything.

Nightmare needed only that small hello before she swam slowly closer to Blue Angel, her movements not threanting. "Hi, I'm Nightmare, this is Jet, and that's Heather, she's a little shy."

It was true Heather didn't like meeting others she didn't know, for she wasn't very trustworthy. She came a little closer, but not much, when Jet swam away from her.

Seraph; Blue Angel; Akula

Seraph's large golden eyes were fixed upon Jet. The bright golden male felt threatened by other males. He even didn't always like the company of females. Some might call him antisocial, and, well, they would be right. He flicked very slightly side to side a few times as angelfish do as a sign of aggression.

"Nice to meet you." The gray female said. "I'm Blue Angel, and he's Seraph. It takes him a while to get used to others..." That was perhaps an understatement. It took Seraph a while to not want to kill everybody. "I haven't seen you around here until now. Were you born here, or were you released by humans like us?"

Up from the bottom of the river came a 4-inch black shark-like fish with a bright red forked tail. She swam quite gracefully toward the angelfish, stoppinga few feet from them. For now the red-tailed black shark, known as Akula, stayed back and observed.

Jet & Others

Jet ignored Seraph's threat for now, being laid back he wouldn't worry too much, that is unless the male took it too far. He listened to the female, but let Nightmare do the talking since she was enjoying herself so much.

"Neither, we traveled here. It's nice to meet you. Do you plan on staying or traveling on?" Nightmare waited for a answer her body relaxed.

Heather was the first to notice Akula, but simply because of the tail. "Jet." Her voice was a warning as the shy female swam back in fear. She was too intent upon her fear of the red-tailed blackshark that she didn't notice how close she had come to Seraph, if he hadn't of moved.
