Bree

a bear - Bree - had invaded Tall Grass Prairie. the huge Kodiak bear was craving. yes, she had just eaten an hour ago. no, it wasn't big meal. no, it hadn't filled her. it had been a skimpy fawn, and Bree hadn't been satisfied. now, she seeked a musk oxen or moose. the bear had no reason to crouch and lurk, as the wolves did. she sniffed the air, standing upright. she smelled both moose and oxen. grunting as she landed, Bree wandered towards one of the smells. she would catch whatever she saw first. right now, she just had to concentrate on finding her prey...

Soulless

I caught an interesting scent......a bear. "Stay down." I whispered to Leala. I stood in a protectivly over her, like she was my own. I let out a low growl and a snarl. My ears listeners lay flat against my head.....kind of daring this huge beast to come any closer. She probaly had not even noticed us....but she would now. I could fight her off, i have fought many bears in defense of my family. Now, I had no family....thanks to hunters. I did, though, consider this little one my family, and I would not let some blundering carnivore take her from me.

Bree

how dare some tiny, pitiful wolf threaten Bree! sure, the wolf had run off many bears, but Bree wasn't like a normal bear. she wouldn't run, and she could easily kill three adult wolves with two paw swipes. Bree's snarl was even more menacing than the wolf's. if the white one was smart, she would cower and run. "fool. drawing attention to yourself is the worst thing to do. if you were smart, you would have ignored me. lucky for you, I'm not interested in a scrawny pup. now get out of my way and let me be." Bree was in no mood for setbacks, and if the wolf tried to further annoy her, she would attack. Bree's ears were flattened against her head as well. maybe this wolf had never fought a bear that wasn't a coward and would run. one wolf and a pup couldn't take her down. a whole pack wouldn't. all was well, if they just heeded her warning and took flight...

Soulless

My black occules gazed deep into the bears own. "I meant no offense....." I said with little or no concern for my own safety. I had taken on bears bigger than her by myself......and killed them. I stopped growling and moved a step closer to Leala, standing over her now. I waited for the bears response, the snarl still spread across my features.

Bree

yeah right. no lone wolf could kill a bear. it was impossible. besides, even if Soulless had killed bears larger than Bree, who said he could kill her? had those bears had brains, smarts, strength, and skill? definitely not, if they had gotten killed by a scrawny wolf five times smaller than them. and Bree would not take such an insult from awolf. she swiped at paw at Soulless's face before drawing back and snarling angrily. "I suggest you leave before you become my next meal." she stared back in to the wolf's eyes, and in her own were fury and mocking disbelief. was this wolf stupid or something? probably. didn't he know that staring into the eyes of any creature means a challenge? probably not. that's why Bree would kill this wolf if he bothered her again. there was no way a scrawny wolf could kill the massive, ferocious Bree.

Soulless

I stood and let out a deep snarl. "Another stupid, ignorant bear wants to take me on? Alright, if you think you stand a chance, big girl." I said with no concern for what her reaction would be. I had been in worse situations. My listeners lay flat against my head and my abyss hued occules gazed deep into the bears. "I WILL beat you, you know? I have never lost a battle. I will protect my newfound daughter at all costs." I did not know what Leala's reaction would be to my last statement, but I would obviously find out. I paced menacingly back and forth, awaiting the bears attack.
