*Ducks*

Nearly a dozen dead ducks lay scattered on the prairie ground, all within a few yards of each other. They were Green-winged Teal ducks who were headed very far south for the winter. There is no scent of illness about them and they have no injuries.

Kanan

The wolf headed sullenly over the land, sticking his lengthy muzzle up now and then to sniff the breeze. Great pale flakes of snow swirled around and he stuck his tongue out to capture a few. Kanan was an adult now, but he had a playful and mischievious nature still.

Kanan didn't know where his parents were. He had gone unconscious during the fight and woke up to found everyone gone. Now he was driven by his stomach and thought it terribly good luck to happen across some feathered meat amid the browned grass! Hungrily, Kanan set upon eating all that would fit in his stomach.

Kiolana

The now adult grey wolfess spotted her brother from a distance. Smiling she crouched down and moved quietly, down wind. The sun shimmered over her side, showing off the black saddle marking. Her light yellow eyes shined with michiviouse when she pounced, laughing.

Kanan

Kanan lifted his head, fancying he heard a noise. Shrugging it off, he went back to his feast, unaware of his approaching sister.

When she pounced, he was knocked down with a start, but quickly recognized who it was. Kanan flashed a broad smile and laughed as well, pushing his sister away. "Kiolana! Why, it's good to see you!" he barked enthusiastically. "Look what I've found!" his tail waved and his bright eyes glistened with the innocents of a pup.

Kiolana

Smiling she sat back, "It's good to see you to, Kanan." She said. Looking at the dead ducks she thought for a moment, it was kind of odd that there was just a pile of dead ducks in the prairie, but they didn't smell ill or anything so she figured it was fine. Nodding she spoke, "Mind if I eat with you?"

Kanan

He shook his head, "No problem, Sis, eat all you want." Kanan licked his mug, cleaning some of the blood from it. As he batted a glimmering feather from his nose, he spoke out, "Did you... uh.. have you seen... Mom and Dad lately?" The wolf was a bit nervous to ask because he wasn't sure of Kiolana knew about the battle yet. He didn't even know the outcome or what happened to the pack. But he figured it was time to strike out on his own anyway.

Vevisca

The tawny wolf moved slowly over the prairie with his buff-hued tail hanging lightly behind him. His face was partly stained with dried blood, and one eye was a mess of crimson and gore; an eye that was completely destroyed by enemy fangs.

Vevisca had decided as well that he was leaving the pack. He didn't know where Amber was and feared the worst for her. Upon spotting the two siblings, Vevisca raised his head and wagged his tail. Bounding swiftly over the snow-dusted ground, Vevisca approached the two. "I haven't seen you two for a while!" he exclaimed merrily. Vevisca wasn't sure if they had become loners, but he was very lonely now and just wanted to be around thoughs he knew.

Kiolana

Kiolana ate and then looked at her brother, licking the blood from her maw. Shaking her head she sighed, "No, I haven't scene them." She said sadly. Then she saw Vevisca, "Vevisca!" She said with a smile, but when she saw his eye her happy expression to a worried one, "What happened?"

Kanan

Kanan perked his ears up, his tail wagging afresh once he spotted their friend. But the sight of his mangled eye brought a sharp memory back to him, "The fight..." he moaned regretfully and worried about his parents once more. But he hadn't scented their blood at the Ruins, so he was sure they were alright. Cortinarri on the others hand; he thought she must be dead, for her blood was massed on the ground there.

Kiolana

Kiolana looked questioningly at her brother, "What fight Kanan?" She asked worriedly, "Is everyone alright?"

Vevisca

Vevisca spoke up again, answering for Kanan since he had been at the battle longer, "Our pack lost. Aaka brought many of her allies... including that skulking pack from the human's town. Mostly they ganged up on Cortinarri, but before they could have killed her, Aaka called off the battle and let us go. She took over the Silver Glades now. Cortinarri sent Namir, Spirit, and I to some pack in the west, but we were refused. I'm not sure where she and Manov went." Vevisca sighed deeply, "The pack is split and I don't intend to go back to it... unless you two are going to." he paused a moment before adding quickly, "I didn't see your parents there, and I don't think Aaka is the type to hunt them out and cause them harm." He tired to be encouraging, although he didn't know much about where anyone was.

*Sickness*

After eating some of the ducks, both Kiolana and Kanan will be affected by the thing that had caused their death.... Your symptoms will include a faster heartrate, quicker breathing, and contracted pupils (which will make it very hard to see in the dark). These symptoms should come about soon and will last for a few days before they begin to wear off. You might also become dissoriented at times.

Kanan

Kanan shivered slightly and looked up at the gray sky. "Were do we go now?" he questioned suddenly, thinking about his parents. "I think we three should stick together though, whatever we do." The young adult didn't yet feel the effects from the whatever had killed the ducks.

Kiolana

Kiolana's breathing became faster and her vision blurred slightly. Shaking her head she sat down, fealing a bit dissy. "I don't know where we should go, may we should try an find mom and dad?"

Kanan

Kanan nodded, "Yeah, we should do that. I wonder where they could be?" he blinked suddenly, shaking his head. His vision seemed to change a bit. His heart was thumping faster too, like he had just stopped from the long run or had been scared. Kanan was about to say something about that, but changed his mind. "Maybe they are close enough to hear us howl? And if they aren't, we can wonder around howling for them elsewhere." He offered merrily and began to howl. Yet he found it a bit hard to howl long, for he was short of breath now as well.

Kanan

Kanan's tail wagged vigorously, "Mom and Dad! Kiolana, lets go see! Vevisca, come too!" he yipped excitedly, sounding like a pup again. Joyfully, the young adult bounded over the ground towards the call of his parents.
