*Deer*

Two bucks without their antlers, and four does walk across the field, stopping now and then to graze. The three of the doe are pregnant.

Tornado

He slowed down to a steady trot and dropped his head down level to his shoulders. It didn't take long before he picked up the scent of the deer, and circled around to travel downwind of them. While he waited for Winters Night and Demon to come, Tornado studied the group to see if he could pick up any weaknesses they might have.

Winters Night

She sneaks in and watches the deer waiting for a plan from Tornado and also watching for weakness.

Demon

He watches how the other two acted, and tried to act the same. He followed them downwind, and stood behind them, watching the deer with great interest.

Tornado

Tornado waited, picking up the deer's scents. He learned that three doe were pregnant, and one was not. That one doe might be too young, or two old. Or maybe something else was wrong with it. Either way, he decided it would be best to go for the doe that wasn't pregnant, so there would be more fawns to hunt later.

Tornado looked intently on that one doe, to signify his pack that it was the one to go for. He then signaled with his tail, for Winters Night to try and circle around the far right side of the deer, and for Demon to circle to the far left of the herd. He began to creep forward slowly, and waited for the others to get into position.

Winters Night

When she got into position and saw the signal she ran forward on the right side watching the chosen doe. She tried to scare the other deer away from the doe and herd it towards tornado with loud snarling and barking and nipping at its flank.

Demon

He takes off to the left side, and rushes at the deer when Winters Night does. He barks and makes quick, short rushes at the doe to try and help Winters Night drive it toward Tornado.

*Deer*

One of the bucks gives a snort in warning, and raises its tail to show the striking white underneath. The rest of the deer flash their white tails as well, and turn to run faster than the wolves can catch them. All but the one doe. She is cut off from her herd, and is slower than them. She kicks her legs back at the two wolves as she runs strait for Tornado...

Tornado

He watches with intensity while his pack members move in, and the deer take flight. Once the deer is close enough, Tornado rushes at it, leaps, and tried to sink his teeth into the deer's snout. He hoped to either pull it off balance, or at least prevent it from getting away.

*Doe*

The doe sees Tornado finally, and leaps as well. His teeth graze her snout, but he can't get a good hold of her. The deer stumbles, but regains its fleet footing and dashes off. It would be difficult to catch her now. You can try to catch her, or search for different prey here.

If you test the wind, you will catch scent of ground squirrels, a moose cow and her calf, and many water birds.

If you listen, you will here the sound of rushing water; a small river that is filled with salmon.

Demon

Demon kept after the doe when his brother leapt up. Even after the doe escaped from Tornado, Demon continued to chase after her. He was use to seeing the prey flee like that, and chase it. Normally, his master would have shot it while it ran, if Demon didn't catch up to it first.

Winters Night

She had been in front of the deer cause when Tornado made her stumble Winters night ran in front. the deer did get past her but she was close enough to leap on top on the deer so she does trying to knock it over. Ivories reach for the neck.

Tornado

Tornado was up on his feet in a flash. When he saw that Winter Night had leapt on the doe, he caught up as it was slowed down. When he got close enough, he sprung up to land on its flank and further slows it down, if not brings it to the ground...

*Doe*

The doe nearly fell over when Winter Night leapt on her, but she struggle on as the wolf's fangs dug into her neck. Then Tornado leapt on her. It was too much weight. With two wolves on her, the deer stumbles once, then crashes to the ground, flailing her legs wildly. Her legs where thin and lithe, but a kick from on of them could be enough to wound or kill a wolf.

Demon

He caught up just as the doe went down. Avoiding the thrashing legs, he jumped up on the doe as well, to ensure it wouldn't throw them all off and get up again. He sunk his ivories into the deer's shoulder, knowing a vital vein was located there....

Winters Night

She avoids the legs knowing Demon would probably kill the doe but just in case she survived Winters Night tried to poke a hole in her airway also.

*Doe*

Her struggles only make the wolves' fangs tear deeper into her. But any pain was distant and hardly noticed to the doe, because she was in shock. Her air way was punctured, and the main artery running through her shoulder was severed. It didn't take long before the doe bled to death.

Winters Night

She releases the down after one last hard bite to make sure she was dead. After she drops the does she cleans its blood off her maw. "Good job Twister and Tornado." She called him Twister realizing she made a mistake. "Oh sorry I meant Demon not Twister."

Tornado

He stepped back from the doe, and nodded, "Good job yourself." Before he started to eat, he glanced at Demon curiously, not understanding why Winters Night called him Twister at first. He still didn't know that's what the human had called his brother.

Demon

"That's alright." he replied, "I'm more use to being called that than Demon." He didn't notice his brother's confusion.

Demon sniffed the deer first, uncertainly. But he was hungry, and so the wolf tore through the hide and began feeding.

Tornado

He finishes eating, with a bulging stomach. He hadn't eaten a deer in such a long time, because they were harder to bring down by himself, and defend from scavengers.

The young alpha stretches lightly, and curls his tongue up around the sides of his maw, trying to clean off some of the blood. He nodded to Demon and Winters Night, and trotted off back to his pack lands.
