Kali
The tall grass hid Kali from sight, mismatched eyes stared down at a patch of colourful flowers in wonder. They looked gorgeous, grouped together like a bouquet, the scent of them was quite pleasant too.
"I wonder if they taste good?" She mused, head tilting down to sniff them again. She bit a flower off from the stem and chewed it, face slowly scrunching up in disgust before it was spat back out. She licked her lips a few times to get rid of the taste and nodded to herself. "And they do not... disappointing."
She trampled the lovely patch of flowers on the way past.
Tobias
“What do you expect, from the food the prey eats?” That voice - rumbly and deep, but with an edge of the kind of self-assurance that had no need to prove itself - came from the deep shadow at the base of a small boulder, which no doubt had been left upon these plains by the glacial activity that had formed this valley thousands of years gone. Indeed, the smooth, rounded edges of weather on the stone told the tale more completely, that this had likely originally been part of the nearby Ochotona Mountains before being dragged from the heights by the crushing weight of gravity and ice. A glance turned that way would show how the shadow heaved and churned, and rapt attention would catch the barest glint of sunlight in flaming orange orbs.
Perhaps then, with that point of reference, Kali might perceive enough in the patch of gloom to identify the rugged outline of a dark face, and a frame that tended more toward the slender and swift rather than the bulky. He did not rise, but rather shifted lazily within his patch of protection against the biting winds that still cut through the broad prairie, and in doing so she might catch a glimpse of a thick, proud mane, which would tell her as much as scent exactly what kind of creature she’d encountered so unexpectedly in her stroll. “There are far more appetizing meals to be had, in this area.”
