Symphony
Lux and Foyle, Ha, they thought they were so cool with their pups littering the valley. Well what was she? HUH?! What was SHE?! Dear, dear, Symphony was in a bad mood today. The sister of the two crazy males stalked through the prarie, her hackles on end. she had nothing. NOTHING to show for herself. She had no friends, no lovers, no pups. God, what was wrong with her?! Well. Besides the voices in her head, but I mean come on everybody had voices, right? RIGHT?! Shut up, I'm trying to think! She hissed to her own mind, which was followed by a million and one screams. All she oculd hear was blah blah blah whine whine whine. God. Make them shut up!
Rune
Oh it was fun, was it not, to watch others pass you by whilst you basked in the sun, unwilling to help anyone but yourself, simply out to cause chaos? Yes, yes it was, and that is exactly why Rune lay sprawled across a large boulder, worn smooth with time, creating the perfect ledge to sit on and watch the world go by.
Why not match a daughter of Insanity with the meaning of the word?
Symphony had seemed like all the others, a lost loner, or a man on a mission. All paid her no mind, and there was nothing about them that interested her. Until now, of course. Hackles on end and looking like she was ready to tear someone in half, Symphony looked like the perfect person to play with. Chuckling darkly to herself, Rune leapt down from her ledge. She was a tri-toned creature, almost the mirror image of her mother, save for the white stripe along her back which replaced the black one on her mother's coat. She had Karitania's spectacular amber eyes, though, and they flashed menacingly as she stalked after Symphony, her slight frame creating almost no noise as she followed her prey. Rune's acute hearing, far beyond that of a normal wolf, allowed her to hear the deep, tattered breathing of an angry canine, and she was practically bubbling with mirth. Oh, this would be fun.
"Hey honey! Who rattled your cage?"
She stopped a few feet from Symphony, a sly grin on her face and her eyes narrowed. Her head was held low, not in submission, but tilted to one side, like some kind of sick fascination.
Symphony
Pale blue eyes shifted to find an obstacle. Move. Move thing move! Oh wait. Not a thing, no not a thing. A wolf. Another wolf. Oh dear. Speak, she must speak. EVeryone. Everyones rattled my cage. You. Him. The voices. the voices, they're just not happy now are they? You appease one, you have to appease them all and if you don't appease them all then you just get screwed over. Black hackles raised. She hardly looked like her father. She hadn't even gotten his straight jacket markings, not like her brother. Stupid brother. Hateful brother. Kill the brother. Yes, kill. She liked to kill. Wait. Did she like to kill, or was that the voices talking again? She frowned slightly. Her ears shifted, the white tips upon them flashing bright in the sunlight. Do the voices ever bother you? Make you go crazy, make you want to kill? Oh, how easy it would be to lull Symphony onto ones side. She craved attention, craved friendship. She just had voices. Damn the voices. Her tail twitched back and forth, as if unsettled. Dammit. Think. Can't think. Must think. Must focus. Gah! Voices.
Rune
Symphony's answer was met by nothing but a twisted grin. Rune was in heaven: here she was, not even looking for fun, but it had come along anyway. Symphony had something about her which intrigued Rune, and something else that made her relate to the other. A complete and utter madness? Possibly.
"The voices? They whisper to me. They guide me, soothe me, goad me. I kill for them, for myself. It is but a sport to me, my friend. It pleases my mother, the blood, she loves to see my treasure when I drag it home to her."
This was not strictly true, for Karitania was not as engrossed in slaughter as Rune made her sound. Karitania enjoyed a good kill for food, or to right any wrongs she felt needed to be set straight, but she rarely killed for the pleasure of it, murdering someone whom was an innocent or an unknown was not something she was pleased about. Still, Rune reverted to a child-like mentality where her mother was concerned, and her own insanity told her that blood and violence were displays of affection for her mother.
"Who is 'him'? Do you want him to die?" It would have been a crude question to anyone else, but these were two out-of-mind canines, who would find solace in each other. What would have been an awful question ignited a fire in Rune, and those flames burned deep within those amber eyes.
Symphony
Had she spoken those words out loud? Speaking of killing him? Oh dear, was she getting so crazy, she didn't even realize that she was speaking out loud anymore? My brother. I want my brother to die. He took after my father. Hes got the straight jacket marks and everything. There were few wolves in the valley who had 'straight jacket' markings. Insanity was the carrier. He had to be Symphony's father, and Rune would have at least seen the white wolf around. Diseased still kept in contact with his old pack, even if he rarely saw them. Sym wasn't much of a killer. She was, but she wasn't. More of all talk but it wouldn't be much to push her into killing someone just because she could. Because someone telling her to... Now there was a reason...
Rune
Straight jacket markings? There was only one she knew who had markings like that! Insanity was still a regular visitor to Diseased and Karitania, so Rune knew of him and his strange coat. "Straight jacket markings? Your father is Insanity." It wasn't a question, it was a statement. There was no other explanation. "My father used to lead the pack your father was in." It was no use telling Sym about her parents, though, because although Rune knew about Insanity, it wouldn't work the other way.
"Well, Sym, where is your brother? I'll come with you to take him down, after all, thats what friends are for, right?"
Oh Rune, you wicked little girl.
Symphony
Symphony's tail began to twitch, much like an agitated cat's. I don't know. I don't know where he is. Her eyes blinked and she began to look around and started mumbling. I don't even know where I am! "Get lost, Sym. Go get lost, enjoy the world." Pah! What is the beauty in getting lost if you can't ever find your way back home again! Poor Sym. She was just loaded with problems today. Her eyes then shot to Rune. You know Papa. I don't know him well. He wasn't in our lives, he was always gone. Always on "missions." That sounded like Insanity all right, never staying in one place to long, enjoying life to its fullest. At least what he could of it. His own demons were slowly killing him, but that aws okay. Maybe not keeping psychopaths in the valley would be a good way to cleanse it. But Rune.. Sym like Rune. She was nice. She liked when people were nice to her. It made her happy, made her feel invincable. We could go kill someone else though! Someone you hate maybe. I never know the people of who I hate. They're just random. Thats not bad, right?
