Malik

A pair of dark eyes searched out the colorful landscape of the prairie from afar. Well, it wasn't quite as colorful now, since great snow storms had blown into the area earlier and fully coated the long blades of grass. The wind was cold and the air held a chill that often proved painful, especially to those with a thinner coat, one that such a creature like Malik had. No matter how many winters he'de seen, he would never be able to counter the season like so many others could.

Despite what warmth his layer of fur did provide, it just wasn't enough for this equine. He took long rigid steps between a cluster of tall trees, and though it wasn't much, he found it more comforting against the chill he continued to get.
Shaking his head free of some stray snowflakes and other random bits of ice, the Anglo-Arab situated himself between a couple large tree trunks that he would have to settle with.

Thirteen

She plunged through the snow as if it were nothing, sending sprays of the white fluff through the air and crashing around her black body. She was a beautiful creature, all satin and rage. She had a temper to her, but one she kept under tight reins. Couldn't let everyone know, now could she?

Thirteen had left the 'sanctuary' of the herd for some peaceful quiet time. With the upcoming war and the death of Hidden, everybody was walking on edge. Especially Morbid. The blood red stallion had a nasty temper about him, one even thirteen wouldn't want to mess with. So here she was, a tall lass with a beautiful body and no where to go. She came to a halt, the snow reaching up to her chest and sending chills throughout the andalusians body. Her eyes scanned the terrain until they rested on a stallion not so far away. Thirteen let out a soft whinny, for was he friend or foe? Of this, she just didn't know.

Malik felt the cold still managing to creep upon him and chill him, straight down to the bones. He shivered absentmindedly as he tried to think of a better place to be, one that wasn't quite so cold. One might say he should be used to it, all these years he lived with it. He was practically born in this weather. He couldn't change this much, though.

The stallion felt himself drifting off into a light sleep, or more like a nap that would soon engulf him.
He was startled awake as a strange whinny reached his dazed ears, causing him to bob his head to rid himself of the drowsiness and then turned to look in the direction of the call. Another horse, obviously. He pricked his ears and gave a neigh back to her, although he wasn't sure who she was. Figuring he needed something to do, he started toward her at a trot to keep himself going.

Thirteen

thirteen smiled at the stallion as he came nearer and nearer, her dark brown eyes full of laughter and life. She was a mixture of emotions, this one was. Her tail flicked as she watched Malik come forth. You look a bit cold there sunshine. She said to him. Her voice had a slight cajun accent to it, odd for a horse of her breeding. She smiled at Malik, all warmth and honesty. At least for now.

It didn't take him too long with his strides to reach her. When he did, he bobbed his head a bit but was held back from doing much else. He was cold, but he could forget about that for now. He shook his large black frame and sent snow splashing down from all sides of him before turning his dark eyes back to the mare before him. "Maybe a bit," he replied with flickering ears. He noticed how she seemed pretty.. Awake, to say the least. "Name's Maaa-lik." he tried to say as he shook some more bits of ice from his pelt.
