alexo

Alexo's twin peaks rotated carelessly, yet vigilantly, as he went, prancing through the brown prairie grasses, fallen flora crunching softly beneath his powerful limbs. His tail hung lazily in the wake of his gait, his features relaxed and curious as gazed around. Perhaps he'd find something to do, or rather, someone to talk to. He was a fresh face in the valley, and like all young, fresh faces, he was in search of excitement, well as exciting as life could be. His pelt, full and shiny with health, glistened in the late afternoon sun. As winter approached, the days grew shorter and darker, but that was no matter to Alexo. He had all the time in the world to wait for something to catch his attention.

.gray wolf - 3 - no allegiance.

.saydin.

.wait until you meet his sister.

Saydin had a body that human women would kill for. She looked harmless, petite, weighing only sixty pounds or so, but she had something that most did not. She had a need for blood. Yes, a blood lust you could say. She was the Little Big Bad Wolf, and she was here to party. Her coat was of the deepest black, and she moved with deadly precision. She was out a hunting, but she couldn't decide if she hunted for food or for pleasure. Thats when her eyes found Alexo. A dark, sinister smile crossed her ebony lips and she moved closer and closer to the male, her head down in order to guard her throat, but her tail was raised in the position of alpha. Although many males liked to believe that they dominated over the alpha female if they were alpha male, this was not true in Saydins case. She would put her mate into his place if nescesarry, but they had a mutual partnership, one that she was quite content with. As she drew near, those dark lips drew back and her voice spilled forth And what have we here, my dear friends? A silent, a mute? A fake, an artist? No no, my ladies, he is just he, a wolf who just wants to be... Her words ran around and around, never quite making a point. But what Alexo said next could mean the difference between death, and a new ally. Saydin had a triky mind, one that never rested. Could alexo keep up?

They whispered, I screamed
They shouted, I cowered
I fought, they fell
I am SAYDIN
Now say it with me....
SAYDIN

alexo

Alexo's gait had been decreasing for some time so it was not abrupt when he finally stopped. His ears still twirled this way and that, drinking in the sounds of this prairie. His posture was still lose and aloof as he glanced around. His amber eyes swept over the prairie grasses to which he had a good height over when he spotted a smidge of movement but he did not stop the sweep of his gaze. He played it off as if he had not noticed the approaching ebony female.

His outward appearance was calm and unconcerned, but in his mind, he was critically analyzing the movement he was still seeing in his peripheral field of vision. Alexo stood still, letting her approach him from the side. When she drew near, he slowly turned his head back in her direction, a reflection of his indifference. His auds flickered minutely as she spoke, the only indication that he had heard her speak. He was not ignoring her, mind you, as he had dropped his tail. She was an alpha and in the hierarchy of the wild, he was as menial as the ground she walked on, Alexo was a wolf with no allegiance and he had no room to act defiantly.

Alexo was tactful and delicate as he planned out words to say. He was not too keen on offending this small fae, there was a malicious air about her and though he outweighed her by a good seventy pounds, was it altogether worth it to piss her off? Nope, women were no fun piss off, especially ones with rank. He had no death wish.

He stared calmly at the lithe alpha and dropped his head ever so slightly, his eyes never leaving hers. She was playing games, wasn't she? Alexo hated games. He hated riddles. Hated jokes. Hated beating around the bush. And yet, he would have to play. He was in no position to be making enemies so shortly into the valley. But he couldn't resist a little bit of fun.

"Whatever you wish him to be." Came his response, droll and uninterested. He still stared directly at the female, a tiny glint of humor in his amber eyes. He was baiting her, daring her to fly off the hook. Like I said, he couldn't resist. So, maybe he had a little bit of a death wish. Alexo was a thrill seeker. I told you, he was in search of excitement.

Her smile was so quick, if one blinked they would have missed it. She smiled. Quick, fleeting, and a true, true smile. A bird flitted past, and her gaze followed it for a moment. Softly and under her breath she murmered To fly, to fly on such wings. Knowing no bounds, forever being free. She seemed sad, but that to lasted a mere second before her eyes were back on Alexo. She relaxed her alphess status, her tail lowering but still she held her head in a manner to let Alexo know who was boss. Yes, a female could be such a bitch when they did not get their way. Saydin was definetly no different. I am Saydin, alphess of the Sedge Creek territory. Her eyes followed another bird, and again that pained look came into her eyes. And what of you, little lamb? What is your name? She sat down now, relaxing just a bit. Sarcasm and trickery were a thing that she could understand. Alexo hadn't had his throat ripped out, had he? No no, she would let him live for he amused her. And such a pretty little thing, to she mused quietly to herself. It'd be a waste to see him dead. Not when he could be used, but used for what, I must wonder? Oh, she'd find a use for him. She always did.

Come dance with me, pretty boy
I'll show you all the right moves
Come fly with me, little stray
And I'll take you home
Lie with me, silent lover
And I'll rock your world.

Alexo watched the alpha femme carefully, his amber eyes flickering over her form trying to better understand her, first impression-wise. He caught the smile. And he noted how quick it was. But it was a smile, none the less, and he was fine with that. He had not sent her into a fit of rage with his little quip, which was a start. A small smile of his own tugged at his lips, but he quelled it, keeping with this stoic facade.

Then she spoke. Not to him, but to herself. His sensitive ears picked up the rhythmic beat of wings that told him a bird passed above and he watched her, not confused, but almost there. The fleeting sadness that followed the comment was unnerving and he was inquisitive.

And yet, he dropped it for she was suddenly back to business with her introduction. She would not dwell on it and neither would he, for the time being. He was not one who pursued curiosities. Alexo was wary because it truly was curiosity that killed the cat. But the look of yearning that crossed her features stayed with him. He locked eyes with Saydin in an attempt to read into the emotions that played out there, but to no avail. God, there was something there but he couldn't put a finger, er.. paw (if you will), on it. It was unnerving and unsettling.

Wait a minute, little lamb? Pah. Please. He huffed inwardly but he relaxed as she did. She was one to talk, that petite temptress. Little lamb. Honestly. Alpha females were like ticking time bombs and there was nothing he could do about it.

"I am Alexo."

He took a moment’s pause and glanced upward at the sky, his eyes picking out the retreating form of an avian.

"You do not need wings to be free. "

He drew his gaze back to the alphess, probing, looking for some hint to her displeasure with her species, ‘confined’ to the ground. Now, Alexo was no philosopher, no, nothing of the sort. He was just appreciative, I guess. In truth, he was just grateful to be created as a wolf and nothing less. Other creatures only wished and strived to be like them, the majestic wolf, but to no avail. They were gifted, and that was just how he saw things.

.saydin

Saydin gave him a smile, but it was a false one at best. Ah, but to take flight my friend and put your worries behind you.... That is a whole new meaning to free. She did not mind being a wolf, oh no she loved it, but... She wished that she could just turn away and never look back. Guilt settled deep in her stomach and formed a lump that she found hard to swallow. She blinked, and a mask was in place. Cold, inpenatrable, and distant. She was no longer the teasing female with the rhymes, but the cold blooded killer who sought to destroy everyone.

Not that she was planning on destroying and killing Alexo, mind you. No no, it was her way of putting up a shield so that she was safe. So that life couldn't just toss you in the air and scream Land on your feet!. She was okay. She was always okay, no matter what the circumstance. The name suits you, Alexo. Her voice was not monotone, but very close having lost its earlier beat and rythm. It was like she was a new wolf now, one that just didn't care.

She watched him as the first snowflakes fell, staining her black coat with white flecks. She raised her small dial to the sky, and closed her eyes. She knew her throat was totally exposed to Alexo, but this... This was peace. This was harmony. This was what she wished she could be.

How did we get here?
I used to know you so well.

Alexo

Alexo's amber eyes slightly narrowed for a quick second, somewhat taken aback by the complete one-eighty Saydin had just done. She had thrown a wall up in less than a second and the brute silently berated himself for causing the change. Granted, he had not realized she would react like that to his statement, but he didn’t like this change. He had let her first comment go by, keeping his own comments to himself. She seemed unhappy, what could she be trying to free herself from? Alexo did not want to say one more wrong thing and risk another mood swing. He righted his mind, brimming with questions, and glanced around for a moment before bringing his gaze, once more, back to Saydin as she turned her muzzle to the sky, eyes closed. Throat out in the open. Now, Alexo was already reeling in confusion with the change in character and the comments of freedom she longed for, the new tone, cold and unfeeling, but THIS? This was throwing him for a loop. Good lord, women.

How so? Came his guarded and cautious reply to her observation of his moniker. He adopted a sturdy gaze, and a small frown made an appearance.

.saydin

Saydin lowered her dial to look at him with those flat yellow eyes of hers. Your strong. Independent. Questioning. It suits you. All of it. Her eyes traveled the landscape to watch the snow settling around them. If you wish, Alexo, you could join my pack. We are nothing huge, and we have no major alliances. Not with the Shadow lurkers in the alleys, nor with the Shadow Haunters in the Ruins. Our pack is tight knit, and we care for one another, but we believe in caring for ourselves as well. We don't babysit. If you have a problem, solve it yourself unless you make it a big problem. then we may get involved. Saydin watched him wearily, growing tired of conversation. She had given away much of herself today, and it made her feel... Odd. no one knew of her problems, the ones she wished she could run from. Just be forewarned.... My sister lives there, as well as my three pups and mate. I will protect them fiercly. they come first to me. Understood? It was a slight warning. Even if he decided not to join the pack, he knew where she stood. Her family was her everything.
