Solange
My oh my. Rattled the vocals of the spitey, young contessa. The grass tickled her hocks causing her skin to flinch around her quarters. She shook her red and white tassels, stretching her neck. Her chocolate dipped pools danced over the prarie. A flie buzzed by her ear, taking a few steps to escape the little vamp she heard a small creature jump through the tall grass. The wind seemed to play soft music to her. Drifting into a suttle stare she was gone with the wind.
ASHLiN GLENN WONDERSTARR
Ashlin was perched easily atop the tall equine's bare back. Her hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail with numerous strands already beginning to ease their way out into the wind that blew through the prairie grasses. She was once again wearing one of her favorite outfits, which consisted of a short faded jean jacket with a light blue short sleeved shirt on underneath and her faded jeans that had become naturally ripped in the lower legs a couple times. As for the equine, it wore nothing but the rider on it's back.
Ashlin had always loved the bright sunny days such as this, and she hadn't been available to take Wonderstarr for such a ride in a long time. They always had to stick close to the corral for whatever reason, and now they were finally out getting the fresh air they deserved. One thing was sure, Wonderstarr was definitly loving it. The mare's tail flagged behind her and her head was tossed as she trotted along through the tall grasses of the prairie, not paying much attention as the colorful blades whisked at her legs as she strode along. They were rather tasty actually, and to have so many around you? Heaven! Even if they did tickle a bit, at which she occasionally had to abruptly stop and bend her neck around to nip at an itch.
Their destination was a lone tree near the middle of the prairie, though one couldn't be too sure of that. Oh, Ashlin had a map, but she never thought to look up where this tree really was. It was just some regular plain old tree that had decided to sprout right in the tall grass. Ashlin just remembered the way they took to get here, and no doubt Wonderstarr probably memorized it as well.
Suddenly, Wonderstarr's flaring nostrils picked up the unknown scent of another horse, this one without a human. Ashlin could just feel Wonderstarr tense up a bit as they continued on through the prairie, the mare beginning to become more focused on the other equine just a ways off. Then it came into view, and Wonderstarr gave her head another toss and snorted in it's direction. Her ears swiveled forward and her head turned to allow her dark eyes to watch this other mare, despite her legs still carrying her body toward that same tree, which was also now in view. Ashlin had noticed this other horse as well, and simply watched from Wonderstarr's back. She had heard of plenty of wild horses in the valley yet had never gotten to see many of them.

A large breeze came swooping over the grass. The blades slithered by her knees and around her belly. She wasn't to tall of a fem. So the blades has their advantages and disadvantages to her. Camoflogue or tickle to the death. Raising her back appendage she thrust it foreward, scratching at her stomach. Her nares flared briefly, turning her head to the scent. A horse and rider. She never got that....people riding horses. I mean they had legs, right? The chestnut and white dipped ess watched them, amused at the stance.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
The grass wasn't much of a worry for Wonderstarr. As a matter of fact, she kinda enjoyed it. For once, there was color and life around her, unlike the beaten dirt ground of the corral. The corral was currently where she resided, until Ashlin's ranch was finally ready to be moved into. She couldn't be sure when, though. It had taken this long, so she could only hope it wouldn't be much longer.
Snorting, the Thoroughbred finally reached the tree and eased to a halt by her owner's command. Ashlin had been holding on tightly to the mare's rather short mane, which was kept at a short length for showing. Later today, Ashlin planned on trimming it again.
Ashlin slid down from Wonderstarr's bare back and gave her a firm pat on the shoulder and brushed her hand along the mare's neck. "It's been a long time," she spoke, looking out across the prairie. It looked like an ocean, almost. A sea of beautiful color. "And you're already trying to make friends?" she then seemed to question, smiling as her eyes landed on the wild horse not too far off. She stepped over to a large boulder by the lone tree and took a seat on it, breathing deeply.
Wonderstarr snorted once more, lifting her head high to get a better look of that unknown mare. The grass was quite high compared to the other, but Wonderstarr stood high enough to barely even have her belly tickled by the tallest blades, if any at all. Giving her dark mane a brisk shake, she released a loud neigh in the direction of the wild equine, ears once again pricked forward in interest. She didn't meet wild horses often, and was usually the one questioning their wild ways and wondering how they could survive in such conditions.

Mocha dipped pools tangoed other the pair. Especially the two legged. Which was getting on the rock. Well was being seated on the rock. She pawed the ground gently, looking more playful than fierce. She shook her two-toned tapestries and took stride forward. As she moved towards the pair she kept quiet, smoothly, but briskly walking towards the pair. Her small frame, not much over 15 hands, pushed through the tall grass. Hence the name "Tall Grass Prairie". She halted maybe four yards away. Raising her crown up, but not in a snooty fashion. The expression gave off a sweet, welcoming look. Though being short, dainty, and have huge eye eyes and long lashes; you couldn't look anything but that. "Harro! What bring you to the Prairie?" Solange asked smoothly, but in a friendly, likeable voice.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Ashlin was still seated on the rock, pulling her legs up and heaving off the small backpack slung over her shoulder. She began to dig through this pack and revealed a notebook and pencil. Opening the book, she turned to a blank page and began to scribble some things down, looking up every once in a while as if in thought. A smile was spread across her face the entire time, looking to the wild mare every once in a while. Actually, she hadn't realized the mare walked closer to them till she happened to glance up from her book, which was propped on her legs. It wasn't often such a thing occurred- a wild horse wandering toward you, a human. Maybe it was Wonderstarr? Turning to her pack again, she began to dig through the contents. She could have sworn she stashed away a camera in there...
Wonderstarr pricked her auds forward once more, having noticed Ashlin was taking that weird flat thing again, with the many pages in it. She snorted at this, wondering how she could be doing such a thing instead of frolicking... Giving her large head a shake, she flung her mane to and fro, causing an annoying fly to buzz away from her. It'de be back, though.
Watching this mare, Wonderstarr kept her own hooves in place and lifted her head, nostrils flaring, taking in the new scent. Then the words came, and she would have shrugged if she were anything of the human sort, or if she even could have to begin with. "I just came with my human," she replied, bobbing her nose back towards Ashlin, then looking back to the wild horse. "What are you here for?" she then asked, bringing a hind hoof up to tilt the tip against the hidden ground.
Solange
Her eyes bugged a little when the paper-thing came out. And the thing she was writing with, scratching at is so vigorously. Perhaps there was food in the thin..food keeper; she'd call it. Solange studied the two legged essa. Though she listened to Wonderstarr. A flick of her thick banner the mare shook her lush forelock from her eyes. She looked pretty healthy, for a wild horse anyways. Her coat was sort of dusty and her mane slightly tangled and her hooves rough. But nice looking none the less. A snort blew through her nares. "I see I see." The fem gave a few quick little bobs of her crown. So they take them with them everywhere... Solange really had nothing against the two legged species. But they interested her. She stepped a hint closer. A grin played across her kissers. "Pretty much eating, and soaking u p the rays." She nodded with a smile. Not beloning to a herd she had much time to herself.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Ashlin thought it was quite refreshing to come here. She could think, explore, rest, and just have a good time herself here, and Wonderstarr just eased about and munched on the grass. It was a great place no doubt. Ashlin was quite happy here, and it was obvious Wonderstarr enjoyed it as well.
Brushing a strand of hair from her face, she settled it behind an ear and continued to leave marks on the paper in front of her. She did pay attention to the two horses by her, and it made her quite happy to see them getting along. It wasn't often either of them got to do this.
Wonderstarr watched as the wild mare drew just a bit nearer. It wasn't that hard to see, she was quite evidently curious of Ashlin. Or at least something like it. She gave her head a small toss to rid her flesh of that annoying fly once again. She then nodded her head in a bob. "The grass here is delicious- oh, and I'm Wonderstarr," she suddenly stated, forgetting to even give her name. Seemed both of them had. She grinned slightly, her tail swishing behind her.
Solange
She swished her banner a few times, fllicking it every so often near her haunches. The little vamps had seemed to come her way. Wonderstarr was now not alone with dealing with the little creeps. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Wonderstarr." Nodded the painted doll. Her grin stayed put. She hadn't been around another horse in a while and was well...lacking friends and was sort of forgetting how to be a horse. "I'm Solange." She spoke without a stutter. She shifted her weight, glancing over at the human again. Then back to Wonderstarr. "Where do you take up residence? And if you don't mind me asking, how is life with the human?"
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Ashlin was still working away at something in the notebook, occasionally looking up to watch the horses.
Wonderstarr noticed as the other mare had begun to whip her tail around as well. Flies, they were such annoying little beasts. She absolutely despised them, yet there seemed to be no way to get away from them. Bobbing her head, she smiled again. "And it's nice to meet you, Solange." she replied, nodding. Then she glanced to Ashlin. "I live at a place called the corral right now, until my human's ranch is finished." she answered, and then thought a bit. "Oh, it's actually quite nice. You get food, water, and a place to stay. How's life in the wild?" she then asked, curious of this lifestyle.
Solange
Solange occasionally glanced at Ashlin to see what she was up to. Still skecthing away...It must be fun.
Enjoying the sound of food and water being provided she whinnied with a little bob of her head. "I could get used to that!" She pawed at the ground, making a effort to look excited. Shaking her forelock once again she thought a moment. "Its...good. Though times can be rough. You've got to look out for yourself and herds arn't always that amazing...But I like the independence. It depends on the horse, I suppose." She nodded, finishing the statment.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Ashlin was still writing things down.
Wonderstarr watched Solange, clearly curious of life in the wild. She personally wouldn't want to try it herself, but the independance the other mare mentioned did sound pretty nice. She wasn't completely sure though. After living for so long on the dirt ground of the corral, the wilderness seemed pretty inviting. "Ohh, I think I'de like the independance. But, then again, I don't think I'de know quite what to do with myself." she replied, and then tilted her head. "Herds... What are those really like?" she asked then, swishing her tail.
Solange
Solange's chocolate pools were slightly interested. What if, what if she and the other femmora took to the skys togeather! Just two mares, happily enjoying each other's company wondering the wilderness without a care in the world. Hm...but ditching the human wouldnn't be so nice. And she wasn't exactly sure if she wanted to mention it to the other doll. Could lead to trouble. Plus she didn't want to be on the two-legged's bad side. "I havn't been in one for so long. But I can give you the general rundown. Some annoying jerk keeps moving you this way and that with a bunch of other dolls and their young till your plumb worn out." She chuckled. "Not all are like that though. Some herds have strong leaders, good protection, and all around it can be like a nice big family watching out for each other." She stated with a little smile. "Are there many other horses that live with you, in the human-horse area?" Solange asked, figuring they could exchange information.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Ashlin continued to write away on her paper.
Wonderstarr listened rather intently to the mare's words. She was interested in learning of the wild, though she didn't quite understand half of it. They had such different lifestyles. Wonderstarr couldn't complain though, she enjoyed how she lived, but this was always how she had lived. The corral really wasn't that great though to begin with. She needed green, lots of green. There was barely any of that in the corral.
She nodded absentmindedly as Solange spoke, and then thought about the question. "Well, there do seem to be many other horses, but a lot of them come and go," she said. Then she whisked her tail about, lifting a fore leg and then the other to stretch them a bit. "Humans are almost endless, but they come and go as well."
Solange
Brown raised curiously at the statement. Humans are almost endless. Solange pondered on that for a moment if that was a good thing or not. Depending on the human and the situation, she decided. "Maybe you'd like to take a run on the wild side?"
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Wonderstarr could almost tell that the mare was thinking about something she had said, and so she tilted her head for just a moment. She then sighed deeply before perking up to the question. It was completely unexpected, but she gave a rather excited bob of the head in response. "I would enjoy that, but my human. She'de worry," she replied, thinking about that. It wouldn't be a very exceptional thing to do.
Solange
A sympathetic look crossed the petite mare's features. Her large brown orabs looked understanding. Because they were at the moment. "Bring her with! I'm dieing to stretch my legs." Solange spoke quickly, alongaiting her neck and giving the tapestries a 'ole shake. "Or shall I go it alone?"
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Wonderstarr looked at the mare and thought a moment. She possibly could take Ashlin with her... Yea, it didn't sound very bad. They went on long rides all the time, or well they used to. Ashlin had been rather busy these past couple or so months.
She bobbed her head quickly and snorted. "I'll go, just hold on. I have to get my human." she stated, turning about and stepping over to the large boulder Ashlin was sitting on. The gray mare reached out and lipped at the human's hair and face, and then the notebook and pencil. She even nuzzled through the backpack. A deep whinny emitted from her throat as she continued to rumage about.
Ashlin didn't quite get it, but nodded anyway. "Ohhhkay," she spoke, pushing the mare's head away. Truth be told, she didn't know what was really up, but the mare wanted something. Or to do something, which was rather new, though not unlikely at such a time.
Ashlin finished sliding everything back into the pack and then slung it over her shoulder again, then stood on the boulder with Wonderstarr still by it. She placed her hands on the mare's withers and also gripped the mane as she hoisted herself up onto Wonderstarr's back. Positioning herself rather easily, she sat tall though was still a bit hunched over, holding onto the mare's short mane.
Without a cue and once Ashlin was even sitting on her back, Wonderstarr lifted her head higher and picked her way daintily through the tall grass, headed back towards Solange. "I'm ready, let's go," she stated with a somewhat mischevious grin from what she had done. She was feeling like Ashlin was just like that backpack- something she was carrying around with her for show or something, though she really didn't know what that pack was for...
Ashlin was a bit startled but gripped the mare's sides tightly with her legs, holding onto her mane with ease. This was rather unusual...
Solange
Tossing her dished fascade to the heavens she let a filly like whinny announce the fun. Solange pawed at the dusty-grass covered earth and kicked up her heals, striking out away from her chassi. "Come on!" She said, with a few little bucks then she began to run. She'd need a head start if she wanted to keep up with the long-legged TB. Her mane bounced against her nape and fled out in the breeze. Nostrils flared, taking deep breaths. Legs battered the land with force, she had already broke out some sweat. The warm sun hitting her pelt. Ah...summer has arrived.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Wonderstarr snorted, pounding her hooves about in the grass around her. The blades easily folded beneath her weight as she stomped, and then she heard the other mare's voice ring out. Letting loose her own whinny, she gave a half rear and bolted, shoving off the ground below with her powerful hind legs. She could feel Ashlin's legs instantly tighten about her sides as she sped along, her long legs easily allowing her to catch up with the smaller mare. She also realized, through her intense fun, that Ashlin had lowered closer to her neck, as though trying to hold on, or just trying to gain speed as well. However, Wonderstarr didn't pass Solange up much more than a couple yards or so. She wasn't sweating yet, but her sides were invisibly heaving with the deep long breaths she took through her flaring nares. "This is fuuunn!" she squealed out, having not run like this in a long time. She knew she could go faster, but didn't want to let the other get too far behind her. Then she wondered where they were going. She soon forgot that thought and decided she would just follow.
Solange
The painted contessa tossed her thinker a number of times. Her nares flared taking in heaping large amounts of air. Being a Quarab she had the advantage to have small bursts of very fast speed. Still she was short. Solange kicked up her heals, literally leaping as she galloped after Wonderstarr. In not to much time she was almost neck and neck with the dappled fem. Her eyes were wide with excitement. She took a moment to see what Ashlin was thinking of this.
This is great! The wind caressed her bodice. Strong, lean muscle rippled under her colorful coat. This was the life. "Isn't it?" She nickered with glee.
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Wonderstarr had forgotten all about Ashlin as she raced about across the prairie. The blades brushes against her legs as she ran, her body stretching as she lengthened her strides a bit. It felt good to run, no doubt. The wind whipped her mane and tail back and they streamed like banners behind her. Ashlin was still hunched forward, keeping her chest close to Wonderstarr's neck and withers. She held on tightly to the short mane, keeping her legs wrapped around the mare's sides to keep her from simply sliding right off. A smile was spread across her face as Wonderstarr's ears suddenly swiveled behind her. She could have sworn she heard Ashlin laughing.
Wonderstarr's own muscles rippled beneath her gray pelt as she ran. They bunched and loosened with each powerful stride. The two equines surged forward through the grass gracefully. She only gave a laughing neigh in response to Solange, tossing and shaking her head about as she galloped. By now, her pelt was beginning to darken with sweat, though she really wasn't tired. Everything in her said go!
Solange
The sky was the limit. Her legs felt little strain. Running was amazing. She seemed to float over the earth effortessly. What a sight for anyone who just may be watching. Horses running-and enjoying themselves was truely lovely. Her banner raised, helping her balance. She glanced up at Wonderstarr. she felt like she'd made a bit of a friend. She wished they would make a friendship and keep it that way. A small fallen tree was nearing the ess. She gathered up her sculpted legs and leapt, breezing through the air she landed with a little thud. Joyride!
ASHLiN WONDERSTARR
Wonderstarr continued to run, feeling as though she was truely one with the wind. It felt so good to get out, and finally be able to gallop and soar about. It was refreshing, to say the least. Wonderstarr was laughing practically the whole way, whinnying and and wishing she could throw in a couple bucks. That might not go over well with Ashlin, though. To Wonderstarr, well, she valued friendship. The horses at the corral often came and went though, so friendships didn't last long. She then thought about going back to that corral. That gave her a pang of sadness that she would have to leave all this behind. But when Ashlin's ranch was finally finished, perhaps she could invite the little mare over for a bit of chit chat... Who knows?
Wonderstarr hadn't even noticed the fallen log that Solange had jumped over, but there was evidently nothing in front of herself to jump over. She actually preferred having a straight shot, then Ashlin wouldn't end up falling off or something. She continued to gallop by Solange then, giving her head another toss. She felt she had already made a friend.
Solange
Feeling the wind against her face made the world seem round. She bucked a few more times, trying to keep her pace steady. Her flanks and shoulders gathered sweat. Solange's nares sucked in the warm summer air.
A sound came from ahead her audits perked up, giving her a pony-like apperence. Curiousity blew over her features. A squirrel perhaps. "Are you thirsty?" Solange asked inbwteen breaths.
