Candy,Scar Face,Drake

Candy was now heavily pregnant and was due with in the another day or so or possibly tonight.She now led her family out foraging again.when she got to the spot she started looking for food.

Scar face followed suite and looked for food himself.

Drake followed suite and took up sentry duty and ran up a tree.

Soldier; Cassie

Soldier dug out some food and ate it before grooming Candy.

Cassie acted as a sentry for the group.

Candy

She was too hungry to accept grooming and so ignored soldier for the time being as she continued looking for more insects.Her drive today was ll about eating and her stomach showed why.The babies would be coming and soon.tomorrow morning se will probably be skinny and depending on how many pups are born one or two of the others would have to not eat for the day and act as babysitters.Cassie would probably be one of them seeing as she is a female and can produce milk.

scar face kept eating and then switched places with drake.

Soldier; Cassie; Aakesh

Suddenly, Cassie noticed something in the sky. "Eagle!" She cried out, running down the bush. Soldier looked up at the sky. He wouldn't hide until Candy was safe.

The Imperial Eagle flew above the meerkats, looking down at them hungrily.

Candy/Drake/Scar

Scar had also noted the eagle and was sending out the warning chirps and then bolted into a bolt hole.

Drake followed suit tail still up.

Candy followed as well.

Soldier; Cassie; Aakesh; Dakota; Kavik

Soldier and Cassie followed the others into the hole.

Aakesh landed on a tree and looked down at the holes. Dakota soon arrived. "What have you discovered?" The cougar asked.

"Meerkats. A whole family of them, Lady Dakota." The eagle said, bowing his head.

Dakota smiled. "Then we will dig them out." She said, that mischievous gleam in her eyes. She walked closer to the hole and quickly began digging.

Kavik wasn't far behind. The snake stayed behind Dakota, should he have to crawl into the hole himself.

Candy

Candy hissed out at what ever was digging.Bug off preditor!She issed.She would not allow her family nor her unborn pups to die.

Scar Face ran down a tunnel and popped up to look at .He watched the creatures digging.Then he ran back down.Its trouble, Its a cat, the eagle and a snakeHe cried.

Drake.we have to run out one of the other bolt holes connected to this burrow!he got scared easily.

Dakota

Dakota stopped digging and backed away. Kavik then slithered down the hole and searched for the prey.

Soldier and Cassie nodded. "Let's get out of here." They said quietly.

Candy

They could take the snake on but not down here.Candy led the way and was quick about it.She went down one tunnel and came back to that one and then ran down another.That was to confuse the snake.Then she ran down toward the far one.She peeped her head up and then dashed for the next set of bolt holes.

Scar face took up the last meerkat and followed suite

Drake was right behind his sister.

Dakota

Dakota ran after the small meekats. Aakesh dove off of the tree and dive-bombed Candy.

Soldier and Cassie followed the others.

Candy

The pregnant female just barely missed the talons of teh eagle.leave my family alone!She squealed and then turned about front to face dakota.She stood up on hind ends revealing her belly.You would kill a pregnant female? Back off, I will not allow you to kill my familyShe said.Okay so this could be fetal but she refused to let her family be killed.

Scar face saw his sister and knew she ment well but he would not allow his sister to be killed so came and stood by his sister.Back off, Our family wouldn't even sustain you maybe your bird and snake friend but not you

Drake jumped into a bolt hole

Dakota

Dakota snarled at Candy, lunging for her. The meerkat's words had no effect on her. Dakota was a predator. She wouldn't be talked out of eating.

Kavik hissed at Scar Face. "You would be surprised, tiny mite. Dakota will eat anything, whether it be big or small, and it will sustain her for quite a while." He said darkly, striking out at the meerkat. If he was hit, the venom would kill him in a matter of minutes.

Candy

Though pregnant she had been reading the cats movements and had immeidatly botled before she could be struck.This would be a difficult task.

Scar face listened to the snake then jumped to the side.If you think Venom can easily kill a meerkat you are wrong. It might kill me it might not.Meerkats are known to be snake killersHe said and then took off after his sister.They all bolted down the bolt hole where drake was.

Dakota

Dakota snarled at the meerkats. "Cowards! You speak so highly of yourselves and then hide in a hole!" She growled.

Kavik hissed at Scar Face. "And snakes are known to be meerkat killers. If you can kill me, prove it instead of cowering in your hole." He said angrily.

Scar

he looked up.We aren't stupid to take on a cat or even a bird of prey! But for you snake we can all take you easily with our tactics. Like i said you may be able to kill us but its not gaurenteed that your venom will work. We cherish our lives so we hideHe said and then bolted back down.

Dakota

Dakota nodded to Kavik, who slithered down the hole. "Come out, little meercats..." He hissed quietly.

Candy

God she couldn't keep this up.She was due tonight.She quickly bolted out of another bolt hole.She was panting.

The others followed suit.

Dakota

Dakota dashed after Candy. Her long legs took her quickly and swiftly over the prairie as she tried to snap at the meerkat.

Candy

Just in time she jumped into a burrow. If these preditors didn't leave them alone and soon she would die along with the pups!.She was already having contractions.

Scar and drake went down the hole.

Dakota

Dakota wanted to eat this little meerkat. Once again she send Kavik down to flush the creatures out.

Candy

Instead of coming out again the meerkats lured the snake hopefull down itno a large cavan and then they all made to surrond it.Fine if we won't be left along then i guess we'll have to frighten you to leave us aloneShe started the meerkat snake dance shall you call it.She fake charge it then jump back.

Scar face was on the side of the snake and he did the same thing but behind the snake.Their teeth could easily puncture a snakes body.

Drake was on one of the sides.He too mocked lunged.There would only be enough room for the snake to leave the burrow being the tunnel that connected to this den.

Kavik

Kavik wasn't falling for the meerkats' trick. "Give it up. You won't scare me." While meerkats were relatively resistant to venom, Eastern Brown Snakes were the second most venomous snakes on the planet. They wouldn't do so well against him.

Candy

She continued to lunge at him and back away so did all the others.Their tails up.

Kavik

Kavik remained still for a while, then suddenly lunged at Scar Face.

Scar Face

Scar face barely dodged but managed.He then lunged again for the snake this time really going for him.

the others also went for him now.

Kavik

Kavik retreated out of the hole for now, but stayed in the area. Dakota prowled around the holes, while Aakesh flew above.

Candy

They now retreated to another hole and candy gave birth to four pups.Exausted she let the others stay awake to keep an eye out.The others of her family crowded around her.
