Morelia, Contora and Sucuri

Sucuri was first, the young pup, bounding ahead of the other two females. Every now and again, she would glance back to make sure her mother and aunt were still in sight, before charging forward through the long grasses.

Contora tried to listen to her sister, but couldn't fully concentrate on what she was saying as she watched her daughter appear and disappear. Her eyes were narrowed in concentration. One ear was turned towards Morelia, while the other was pricked forward.

Her sister looked round to Contora to find her staring off into the distance, obviously not listening. She sighed, nipping his sister on the shoulder. "She'll be fine, Leave her to it. She's having fun." Contora finally looked round, her attention on her sister. "I know, but..." "No buts! She's a pup, she wants to play. Look, she's checking we're behind her, it's fine." The elder of the two dropped her gaze to the grass as they walked on. Truthfully, they only shared the same mother, so were only half-sisters, which was why Contora was a year older than Morelia. "Morelia, do you think I'm a bad mom?" Morelia, shocked, looked at her sibling and shook her head. "No way! What's brought this on?!" Contora fell silent for a few minutes. "She doesn't have a father, Sucuri I mean. Well, she does, but not with her. I worry too much. I just think...that maybe I'm not doing it right." Morelia nuzzled her sister, "Look, You're doing an amazing job! She doesn't need a father anyway, she's got you, and you've got me if you need me."

Sucuri, oblivious to the chatter going on behind her, spotted a Butterfly and began to chase it, barking excitedly.
