Contessa

the untamable ;

The dun mare eased her way into the prairie, making sure the place was safe first. Her auds flickered this way and that, taking in all the sounds. Her nares flared lightly to bring in the new scents of the area. Her pelt twitched slightly as she felt the tall grasses sweep against her sides and chest, causing her to scowl in irritation. She wasn't used to places like this. She was used to the more dull barren plains. This was overrated.

Soon she came to a halt, snapping eagerly at the blades of colorful grass, lipping them in to chew and swallow. Her stomach would never be satisfied with just this. So there she stood, the grass reaching up to about her knees in the section she was at. A sigh was released, and she closed her eyes a bit.

CONTESSA
Kiger Mustang Mare

Darkness falls

A neagh came from just a bit away and soon it was followed by a huge black body. The horse came trotting towards the other.

Contessa

The dun girl's auds had been carefully picking out the different sounds, ones that were of nature, until she heard the sound of beating hooves. Lifting her dial suddenly, and even feeling her neck pop, her dark eyes scanned the area around her. It didn't take long at all, for the equine stood out like a sore thumb against the backdrop. She gave a snort, and began trotting, in a circle from where this new horse was coming. What did this horse want?

Darkness Falls

Darkness Falls stopped and bowed to the other "hello friend, I am called Darkness Falls, Darkness for short." she smiled.

Contessa

Contessa narrowed her eyes just a bit at this mare, wondering why she had just come up like that. She shrugged it off, though, and gave a snort. "I am Contessa," she stated in reply. At least she speaks her name first... she thought, auds pricking. "Some call me Essa." she stated, watching the other equine before her. "What?"

Darkness Falls

Darkness blinked a couple times "I did not do anything" she said. why does this horse seem so skidish and annoyed

Contessa

Contessa only gave a snort. "Did I say you did?" she then asked in a casual manner, giving a yawn. She could feel herself becoming tired with all the traveling she had done earlier. Now she had someone else to talk to. At least she wouldn't grow bored. "Where did you come from?" she then asked, wondering why she just popped up out of nowhere.

Darkness Falls

The other did not respond for a minute "I came from the forest"

Contessa

Contessa stared at the mare, wondering just where 'the forest' was for a moment. But then she sighed. "I came from... I don't know." she simply replied. She didn't want to give away where she came from. Actually, all she knew was 'the west' or 'the south', depending on where she was now. "Where's the forest?"

Zaquaim

With three foals and three mares in his herd already, Zaquaim was feeling quite confident in himself. Still, counting him and his brother, eight horses did not make for much of a herd.

The Dutch Draft mix, leaving his brother Ultair to watch over his herd, set out to find more members. The Valley seemed to be overrun with humans and predators these days, and the stallion was distressed at the lack of horses and other herds here. His hopes were lifted however, when he caught wind of two mares.

Picking up his pace to a light canter, the black and white stallion headed straight for the two with one goal on his mind. Head held high, he slowed down as he reached the duo. "Good day, ladies." A nod was given to Contessa and Darkness before he spoke again, "My name is Zaquaim, lead of the Prairie Falls Herd."

Darkness Falls

Darkness Falls looked to the newcomer "I am Darkness Falls, godling and daughter of Zeus, I come from the forest in the sky" she looked to the Contessa and smiled sheepishly.

Contessa

Contessa gave the mare a snort, hearing her words and seeing that sheepish grin. Of course, she had noticed the stallion, and so then she turned to him. She gave her head a bob, her mane waving in the breeze. "I am Contessa," she simply replied, and then watched the stallion. She figured she knew what he was going to do.

Zaquaim

An eye was raised slightly at Darkness' reply, though he gave a simple remark back, "It is nice to meet the both of you." His brother would have taken time to get to know the both of the mares, but Zaquaim was more about establishing a herd and protecting it, and so he got right down to business once the initial introductions were made. "I would like to invite you to my herdlands, a little ways to the east of here."

Darkness Falls

Darjness Falls stared unblinking at him, amazed that he seemed to not care about who she was "I-i don't know" she stammered, she was completly stunned by the reaction.
