Ben
Shasta was a concern, thanks to Mikhail, but he would sort out that mess later. He also needed to get some more background checks done on Nadeem and this Michael fellow that Aralyn had spoken of. And though it didn't bother him to much as of yet, he had heard rumors of the Mafia setting up in Atroe City. A slight concern they were, because they could very well rival his hold over the town.
That was all business to take care of later. Right now, he was setting out to scout the land again and assess the population of creatures here. Wolves were on the rise again, and it seemed that horses may be as well. Riding atop his trusted mare Hydra, Ben traveled at a quick pace across the landscape, keeping an eye out for anything of interest.
Lissa & Blizz
Lissa the female liger yawned as she now layed down. She stood out in the tall grass and was in view of the man and horse and she saw them but knew she could take them if need bee. Blizz the capuchin monkey layed down on her back and yawned showing some nice pearly white fangs.
Nightfall
Nightfall roamed through the Prairie carelessly. There was nothing new here. Just grass and trees and animals. She needed adventure! Her head shot up when she saw the odd-looking animals and the human. She looked down at Blizz, then at Hydra. "Hey there, Alpo." She said mockingly. "I see you have a parasite." The 'parasite' she spoke of was Ben. Judging from her personality, she very much disliked humans.
Ben & Hydra
As she traveled through the grasses, the scent of a predator came to Hydra. With a snort, she tossed her head up, ears flicking forward in attention. Snorting again, she scanned the terrain until she was able to locate the liger.
It didn't take Ben long to spot the feline either. Or the strange creature she had on her back. Bringing Hydra to a standstill, the man slowly brought out his tranquilizer gun and aimed it at the liger. Carefully training his sights, he fired a dart for her flank...
While Ben was doing this, Hydra occupide herself with the newest arrival. With one ear facing the tiger, the other swiveled to catch the remarks of Nightfall, "And I see three new prisoners to entertain my parasite." She quipped back, glaring coldly at the other mare.
Lissa and Blizz
Lissa was unprepared and the dart immediatly got her flank and she let out a loud roar and stood up and took off.The capuchin monkey holding on tightly for dear life."lissa what is the matter?" She squeaked not seeing the dart.Soon the liger slowed and staggered and then fell on her side breathing but not concious.Blizz the capunchin squeched and jumped up and down."Lissa lissa get up"
Nightfall
Nightfall smirked. "I won't have your parasite putting his greasy, slimy hands all over my pelt, Dog Chow." She stated. She watched Ben fire at the liger. "Hey! Watch it there, Buddy. You're going to get yourself mauled!" She laughed.
Ben & Hydra
Hydra gave a cynical laugh in return, "Yeah, right. You'll be eating those words before long." As much as she wanted to trot over to Nightfall and give the other mare a good nip, she had to oblige to Ben's wishes.
As the liger ran, she was guided into a slow canter to follow after. Tensing up, Ben led her in a circle around the fallen cat, making sure Lissa was out of it. Then he slid off of her and approached the liger himself. A curious look was given to Blitz, but he couldn't afford to tranquilize him - this much sedative would kill a creature so small. Instead, Ben knelt down near Lissa, his eyes trained on Blitz. The gun was in his hand, but held down slightly as he watched and waited, seeing if the monkey would move in closer...
While her master dealt with the cat and monkey, Hydra turned her attention back to the other mare. "You see, If he can take down such a horrible beast so easily, I'd hate to see what would happen to you if you got in his way." Sarcasm was laced into her words, as if inviting Nightfall closer.
Blizz
The monkey heard the beats but would not leave her friend. When the man knelt she watched him cautiously and then screeched and hissed. She grabbed a rock that was down by lissa's large paw and she threw it at him.
Nightfall
Nightfall laughed hysterically. "Yeah, I'd like to see the waste take me down." She spat. A smirk was still spread across her face, but an emotionless look was in her eyes. "Cats are stupid - everyone knows that. You're stupid as well, for being a slave. I however, am a genius, as I threw the parasite off my back years ago. I'm wild and I'm not going to let your slave driver change that." She held her head high in an arrogant manner.
Ben & Hydra
The mare rolled her eyes and gave a huff, "You are a slave in your own way. At least I will not have to worry about going hungry, or if there is a drought." Her ears began to go back slightly, as she was itching for a fight with the other mare.
Ben was half amused by the rock-throwing antics of the monkey, but he didn't have time to sit here and waste playing games. Without warning, he lurched foward and swung the weapon, trying to slam it against Blitz and send him tumbling. He may not be able to tranq the creature, but he'd try to knock him out one way or the other.
A side-glance was given to Ben, though she didn't think anything of his actions towards Blitz. Rarely did she wonder or question what he did. Instead, she took a few steps towards Nightfall, arching her neck and pinning her ears back more, "Come over here, genius, and we'll see who's better!"
But as she began to move, a sharp command from Ben made her stop. He gave a shifty look to Nightfall, ready to deal with the mare as soon as he was finished with the other two creatures.
BLizz
At first nothing happen but then the monkey fell over and was also uncouncousious
Nightfall
Nightfall snorted. "Yes, and he will continue to work you until you turn to dust. Then you'll come begging for me to finish it. I don't have to worry about that. If I die, I will die honorably. I will not fall as a stupid pet." She replied, pinning her ears back. "You want a fight, do you?!" She spat, stepping closer. She then looked at the human. "So your parasite does not even let you settle minor issues. Pity..." She still had the cocky tone to her voice.
Her attention was then on the other wild animals. She walked closer and snorted at Ben. "You think you're so tough." She said, narrowing her eyes. She reared up and neighed, then brought her hooves down where she saw Ben.
Ben & Hydra
His back to the horses, Ben was working on tying up Blitz and Lissa, in case they should wake up before transports arrived. As he was dialing up someone to send a vehicle his way, Nightfall made her attack.
"It just so happens that there is more important matters at hand than fighting with worthless ferals like yourself. Ben has more important objectives for me. Not like you would understand such things." Hydra retorted, glaring at the other. "You fool, you think..." But the mare was cut short when Nightfall drew closer and reared up, daggers aimed to smash down into her master's back. With a shrill whinny, Hydra plunged forward, front legs flailing as she aimed to slam her self in front of Nightfall and take the damage aimed for Ben...
Lissa and Blizz
Uncouncious though lissa's tail flicked.
Nightfall
Nightfall laughed when Hydra attempted to take the damage. "HA! You pathetic beast of burden. You will do anything to please your human, won't you? If you love him so much, why don't you marry him?" She laughed, with a hateful tone in her voice. She then swung around and threw her hind legs at the mare.
Ben & Hydra
Ben spun around, falling to his side as he scrambled back against Lissa. Luckily for him, Hydra was quick enough to block the attack, though her side and one front leg were bruised. A bloody gouge was traced along the end the side of her leg, where a hoof had hit particularly hard.
Hydra snapped her teeth at the neck of Nightfall, eyes blazing, "I protect my master, as he protects me!"
Not wanting to just sit around while the two mares fought, Ben brought out a second weapon of his- one which he almost always had on hand or close by. A pistol. He took a wild shot at Nightfall, though he had to aim to the side, in order to avoid striking his own horse...
Lissa
the liger awoke but found that she could not move her legs and the two legged wasu pagainst her and then she saw the two horses fighting and her instincts told her to run and get away before she is injured but she couldn't do so.She let out a vicious roar.
blizz was still ucnoucnisious.
Nightfall
Nightfall bared her own teeth as Hydra came up with her comeback. "Ah, yes, but what will you do when he gets tired of you?" She snapped, then looked at the tranquilized animals. "It looks like your 'master' isn't very friendly to all animals. Too bad that you'll be next." She stepped to the side with lightening reflexes when Ben pulled out his pistol. "Gotta try better than that, Bug!" She taunted.
Ben & Hydra
She stomped a hoof in the ground out of frustration, "I serve him loyaly, he will never betray me!" Hydra flinched at the pistol shot before continuing, "He is only friendly to those that deserve it!" At this, the mare reared up, dashing her front hooves out, trying to inflict damage against Nightfall and drive her away from Ben.
Ben was preparing another shot when Lissa began to stir. Standing up quickly, he aimed the gun straight at her head, but didn't fire. For a moment, he let his sight linger on her, making sure the ropes held her down. When he was convinced she couldn't get free, he returned attention to Nightfall as he dailed a number on his phone once again.
"Hurry up! The cat's awake, and there's a wild mare out here... yeah! ....Well, I would, but it so happens that Hydra is in the way... Just hurry."
Lissa
The large cat roared louder and struggled madly her tail flying this way and that.
Blizz slightly gained conciciousness but not much.
Nightfall
Nightfall snorted and tossed her head aggressively. "Humans are so stupid!" She exclaimed. "Did the cat deserve what she got?! No, you poor excuse for an equine!" Her side was slashed by Hydra's hooves, but she ignored the pain. She was soon running straight for Ben. With any luck, she would trample him.
Ben & Hydra
"Of course it did, it's a cat!" Hydra replied cruelly, not liking any predators. She didn't even like the hound that Ben did, though she had to grudgingly admit that they were helpful. To bad they weren't here now. "Hey, leave him ALONE!" She snorted sharply, making a rush at the mare when she went to trample Ben. Unfortunately, her wounded leg buckled as she pressed forward. With a gasp, she stumbled and fell to her knees, and Nightfall flew past her.
Ben, half-distracted by Lissa's roaring, didn't react quite quick enough. A look of genuine fear encompassed his features as he tried to scramble back. A step too late, Nightfall's hoof caught him across the side and he was throw to the ground like a rag doll, gun and phone flying from his grasp.
Hydra was up as soon as quick as she could, whirling around with renewed vengeance. Hearing a muffled cry from Ben as he was struck down, the mare reared up and struck down with all her might at the backside of Nightfall, trying to bring the other horse down.
Lissa
Lissa was getting antsy as the fight went on and she struggled more violently.
Blizz was now fully awake but like lissa had no means of escape. She let out a screech.
Nightfall
Nightfall laughed when her attack was successful. "Take that, Bug!" She exclaimed victoriously. She was too caught up with bringing Ben down to notice that Hydra was up again. She felt a kick on the rear end and then she was down. "Fool! You'll be killed and turned into dog food. Glue, even! You'll go to waste as products and be put on shelves for all the parasites to buy!" She yelled, slowly standing back up and charging at Hydra.
Ben & Hydra
Ready to take on the world for her master, Hydra did not hesitate when Nightfall made a charge for her. With a defiant shake of her head, the mare reared up again, dashing her hooves at Nightfall and snapping at the other's neck and face when she could.
Ben winced as he eased onto his side, finding his breath stolen for a frightening moment. When he finally did breath it, an agonizing pain tore through his side, sending his face a shade lighter. For a brief time, the sounds of Lissa and the others were lost on him as shock threatened to take over. But just as soon, he was back to his senses, gritting his teeth against the blasting pain as he tried to take in the situation. Hydra and Nightfall were at it again, and if he didn't stop it soon, he was sure his mare would be a bloody mess before it was over. She was a decent fighter, but she wasn't trained for such things. And against a wild horse... Ben wasn't sure if she could win or not.
Grimacing once again, he slowly pulled himself over the ground, finding his dropped gun. Unable to shoot at Nightfall because she was so close to Hydra, Ben instead aimed above the two and fired to shot off, hoping to frighten the mare away... though he would seek her out later.
Lissa and Blizz
The two animals continued to struggled.
Nightfall
Nightfall was not only a born fighter, but she was trained to fight. She had reason to hate humans, for she was used as motivation for stallion fights. She was often forced to fight herself. Starved, abused, then shoved into a small ring with a wild mare. Now fighting was all she did to keep herself occupied.
Hydra's attack was successful. The wild mare squealed and jumped back. She looked at the other two - the cat and the monkey. She faced Hydra again with a mischievous look in her eyes. Then she was off. She stopped next Lissa and Blizz. "Stars! Let's go!" She exclaimed, kneeling down so Blizz, or 'Stars,' could get onto her back. "Stripes, you have to stand up!" She stood next to Lissa, ready to support her.
Ben & Hydra
Accumulating a few more wounds herself, Hydra stood back a few paces when Nightfall jumped back. Huffing slightly, she watched warily as the other headed for the liger and monkey; right near where Ben still was.
Limping but moving quick none-the-less, Hydra made her way near her master with ears laced back. "You think I'm so stupid? Look at you, helping a predator!" She panted out, still worn out from the fight, as brief as it was.
Ben stood slowly, the pain at his side keeping him at an akward half-crouch. The gun was raised to Nightfall, but there was hesitation in the man's actions. After a moment, he lowered the gun, though was ready to lift it at a second's notice if Night tried to charge him. He was almost fascinated by the bizarre behavior that the mare was showing; trying to help out a predator. He had heard of such stories, especially of animals in this Valley. However, this was the first time he had really seen it.
Lissa
At first Lissa grew more frantic as the mare approached them thinking that she would hurt her but then she offered help? She couldn't technically stand though with her legs bound up like they were."I would stand but I wouldn't be up for long with or with out your help the way my legs are tied..."
The monkey looked up and attempted to stand she fell back down. She then opened her paws and stood as best she could.
Nightfall
Nightfall looked at Hydra. "Who asked you?!" She snapped, then faced Lissa and Blizz again. "Then I will help you." She said softly, then snapped at the ropes. It was unlikely that she could cut the ropes, but she didn't give up hope. If she was unsuccessful, she would stay until somebody nice enough to help came by.
Ben & Hydra
"Fool." The mare spat out, as if the word were such a vile thing in her mouth. Secretly, she was glad that Nightfall didn't try to fight her more, for she couldn't hold up to much more kicks or bites. For now, she was content with standing near Ben and waiting for him to do something.
In turn, Ben continued to watch Nightfall with the liger and monkey. The ropes used on the captives were a durable, fortified nylon, and very tough to break indeed.
It was a while longer before help arrived, though it was not in the form that Nightfall was hoping for. It was Tom and Ethan, who had been just west of the prairie when Ben called them ealier. Honing in on the GPS signal transmitted via the cellphone, they headed straight for Ben's location. The roar of the engine could be heard, followed shortly by the sight of a red and grey truck bouncing along through the tall grass. Weaving this way and that to avoid hidden raviens, locust trees, and other such obsticals, the vehicle made it to the scene at last.
Hydra perked her ears up at the sound of the truck. A defiant glint rose in her eyes as she looked at Nightfall, "Try your luck, I dare you. Stick around and see what happens to you." She enticed, swishing her tail once. If Nightfall stayed much longer, she ran the risk of getting hit with either a bullet or a dart...
Lissa & Blizz
Lissa let out a loud roar when she heard the engin."Just go"She said to the horse.
Blizz screeched loudly
Nightfall
Nightfall glared at Hydra hatefully. If looks could kill, half the world would drop dead now. She stepped toward the other mare. "You evil vile toxic waste! You give a bad name to all animals by serving the dirty roach you call a human! You have given your life up so your parasitic man can have a better life! He's a leech, ignorant mare. He will continue to use you until you are all used up!" She spat, sneering at the mare.
She ignored the other humans. They meant nothing to her. She soon walked back to Lissa and Blizz. "It will take a lot more to keep me from saving you from these beasts." She stated, standing between the humans' group and the wild animals. "I will keep them away from you until help arrives and sets you free." She didn't think she was doing anything worth being celebrated over, really. She only believed she was doing what was right.
Ben, Ethan, Tom, & Hydra
She shivered with pent fury as Nightfall came back at her with the remarks, "You have no idea what you're talking about!" Hydra shifted her weight a bit, but found her wounded front limb very tender. "I'll take pleasure in seeing you brought down like the worthless trash you are!"
If only the human knew the words that passed between the two equines! Though adept at reading people, it wasn't quite Ben's expertice to decode the language of other beasts; he left that up to Ethan. "Tranq the horse, she's a decent fighter." He ordered as the men slowed to a stop and scrambled out of the vehicle. While Ethan prepared his weapons, Tom scuttled quickly towards Ben. "What the hell happened? Woah..." The older man grimaced at the sight of blood on Hydra, and quickly diverted his gaze as his stomach grew queezy. "...Here, I'll help you."
Benjamin accepted the help with gritted teeth, doing his best not to let the pain overcome him as Tom guided him to the truck. "Ethan, guide Hydra back when you're done. And I want that wild mare at your place, next to Harth's stall. Test her."
Ethan nodded, "Will do." Focusing his sights on Nightfall, the man took careful aim, attempting to fire a tranq at her shoulder...
Lissa and Blizz
She had stopped fighting her bonds."N o Horse Save yourself"She called out.
Blizz layed still.
Nightfall
Nightfall ignored Hydra's last words as well as she could, but she found it hard not to snap back. She heard the humans conversing. When she turned around to see what they were doing, Ethan already had the gun raised. A horrible squeal left her vocals as she reared and darted to the side. She was wild - nobody would take that away from her. She looked at Lissa. "I'm sorry to disagree with you, Great Cat, but I will stay here and make sure the humans are the first to leave." She said calmly, though she still tried to catch her breath. She then stomped her hoof. Ethan would be sorry - she knew it. She raced at him, top speed, hooves pounding on the ground. If her attack was successful, the man would be lucky to get away with no broken bones.
Ben, Ethan, Tom, & Hydra
Before he could fire a second shot, Nightfall seemed to have enough of him and came charging. Quick on his feet, the man jumped back into the front seat, where he had been standing next too. Pulling the door shut behind him, he narrowly avoided getting trampled, unlike Benjamin. Now that she was so near, he took a second shot at her, aiming this time for her flank.
Now that Ethan and Ben were in the truck, Tom had no place to go. He stood wide-eyed, peering over the top of the truck, being on the opposite side as Nightfall was. "Hurry up, Ethan!" He exclaimed, ready to play 'ring around the rosey' with the mare, if she decided to come after him.
Hydra, also unable to find shelter from the enraged horse, stood where she was. "As much as I admire your determination, it isn't going to get you very far." She relented a little in her anger, mostly because she no longer had to worry about protecting the human. Still, she didn't look all too friendly standing there, ears pinned back and neck arched slightly.
Nightfall
Nightfall snorted when Ethan jumped into the truck. "Coward!" She squealed. She was about to attack again when the needle pieced her skin. Her eyes widened and she looked at Hydra. "They killed me." She said, fighting to stay standing. She ran a distance before falling to the ground, out cold.
Ben, Ethan, Tom, Danny & Hydra
A look of grim satisfaction came to the mare, "No, you signed your own death." Ears slowly came back up as Nightfall attempted to run away, only to fall down, still within sight of the humans.
"Have Dan bring the trailer out. Then take Hydra to that new vet clinic that opened." Benjamin ordered, watching as Nightfall took off running, only to collapse a short while later.
As instructed, Ethan left the vehicle, taking out his own cell phone to give Danny a call. "Here, Hydra." He clicked, waiting for Dan to pick up. Bobbing her head a little, Hydra limped towards the man slowly. Generally, she didn't take orders from anyone but Ben, but Ethan was one of the few she would tolerate.
While Ethan began to assess the captured animals, Ben and Tom drove off.
---------
It was a while later before Danny arrived, driving a truck with a long trailer bouncing behind. The first thing they did was load up Lissa and Blitz; the liger going into the front end of the two-part trailer, while Blitz was tossed unceremoniously into the cab.
Next, attention was turned to Nightfall. Ethan had tied her legs in a particular fasion. She'd be able to stand up, but not stretch her legs very far. Just enough so that she could somewhat walk, but if she tried to run or kick, the ropes would trip her up. They waited for Nightfall to begin to wake up, so that they could guide her into the trailer, since she would be too heavy to lift or drag in.
Nightfall
Nightfall was unconscious while they were tying her up, but she soon awoke. She squealed and jumped to her feet. She would not try to run just yet - she was too tired. She offered only a glance to Hydra. "Murderer!" She cried. "They'll kill me!" She stood her ground and stared at the humans.
Ethan, Danny, & Hydra
The mare snorted, "And I should care, why? Besides, I gave you plenty of warning." Hydra replied in a cold tone, slowly taking her gaze from Nightfall as she lowered her head to graze a bit on the grass. "Freedom tastes so good." She added slyly, implying that she was not the one tied up at the moment.
"Woah, woah!" Ethan said, standing to the side of Nightfall as she rose up. With the rops about her legs, he didn't worry about getting kicked, but he was still mindful of her teeth. "You push from behind, I'll try to guide her in." The man said, pressing against Night's shoulder.
Danny, assured that Nightfall's bindings would keep her from kicking, got around behind her and began to shove. They didn't expect to physically shove her towards the trailer, but they tried to use force to get her to move in the direction they wanted.
"You might as well comply." Hydra commented as she saw them trying to move Nightfall, "Might as well not make this any worse for yourself."
Nightfall
Nightfall snorted at Hydra. "I'm not going to do anything your dirty humans tell me to. They're only going to feed me to their tick-infested dogs." She said calmly, making no move. She looked at Ethan as if to say, 'You're going to have to try harder than that.'
Lissa & Blizz
Lissa growled at the men as they placed her in the trailer but she could do nothing.
Blizz screeched as they just carelessly threw her into the cab.
Ethan, Danny, & Hydra
"Come on, get moving." Ethan coaxed, pressing harder against Nightfall, without luck. Though not a good man by most standards, he was usually descent with horses. The same couldn't be said for Danny.
Taking out his pistol, he gave Nightfall a good thwack across her flank, trying to get her to start moving.
Hydra chuckled lightly, "If you keep this up, I'm sure you'll end up dog-meat."
Nightfall
Nightfall felt the beating, but she did nothing. She would not give in. She glared at Hydra. "Better to die honorably than give your life to a leech." She stated, her voice showing no emotion.
Ethan, Danny, & Hydra
Danny grumbled in frustration when his efforts went without response. Determined to get Nightfall moving, he swung the pistol again, this time with more force.
Ethan didn't comment at first, until Danny began to beat more viciously against Nightfall, "Hey, enough! That's obviously not working." He pointed out in a gruff tone, taking a step back from Nightfall to look her over. If force wasn't going to work, he'd rely on other methods. Taking out another length of rope from the truck, he looped it about her neck, then tied the other end on Hydra's saddle.
"Suite yourself." Hydra shot back, rolling her eyes. But she quickly got testy when Ethan tied the rope about her saddle. "What? No way am I dragging her along!" She exclaimed, giving Ethan a look of 'you've got to be kidding me?'
This of course was not picked up by the man, though he could at least see she didn't like the idea. Patting her neck, he grabbed a hold of her harness and began to gently tug on it. "Dan, follow behind me with the truck."
Hydra thought about just standing there, and she would have if it were Danny giving her the orders. But it was Ethan, and so she grudgingly complied. Limping still, she began to move forward. If Nightfall didn't move, Hydra would give her a good tug...
Lissa & blizz
THye remaind still now too tired out to continued to fight.
Nightfall
Nightfall snorted at Hydra. Again, she did not move. She played the 'hurt leg' stunt, carrying her right hind leg in an odd way. She squealed as if she were in pain. No matter what happened she would not give in.
Ethan, Danny, & Hydra
Hydra turned her head back, giving the other mare a baneful glare, "Oh, like that's going to help you!" Snorting, she gave an extra hard tug against the rope, trying to pull Nightfall off balance and send her to the ground.
"Woah, easy Hydra! Easy!" Ethan commanded, pulling on her harness and stopping her. "Easy, girl." Walking carefully towards Nightfall, he tried to examine the leg from a short distance, but it was hard to tell what, if anything, might be wrong with it.
"It's just a horse, Rom. Give it a few tugs and it'll start moving." Dan commented impatiently. He was in no position to give Ethan orders, but he often spoke as if he were.
"And risk damaging her anymore? I don't think Ben would like that very much. You've got to be patient with horses." Came Ethan's reply, as he circled around Nightfall. For a moment, he was stumped. And then an idea came to him. "Danny, toss me your apple."
The other man looked quite angry by this, "Ah, come on! That's part of my lunch!" But the look that Ethan gave him was enough to stop Dan from arguing any more. Complaining under his breath, he rumaged through his pack until he found his lunch. A sandwich, apple, and bottle of water. With a heavy sigh, he departed with the fruit and tossed it to Ethan.
Catching the shiny red and yellow apple, Ethan held it out a few feet from Nightfall, trying to entice her to walk forward. "I know you'll like this..."
Nightfall
Nightfall told herself so many times that she wouldn't do what a human commanded her to, but she eventually gave in. She was hungry and the apple looked good. She still held her leg like it was hurt, but advanced towards the food.
lissa and blizz
The two growled and screeched.
Ethan, Danny, & Hydra
He stood still, under Hydra's angered glare, as Nightfall came forward to take a bite from the apple. "There, see?" Ethan said in a quiet voice, showing off that characteristic, charming smile of his. He allowed her to eat half of it before he took a few more steps back. "You're going to have to work to get the rest of it."
Moving to the side of Hydra, he untied the rope on her saddle and began to move towards the trailer. Holding the apple out for Night to see, he tossed it into the trailer, hoping she would follow it in.
Hydra rolled her eyes again, somewhat miffed that Ethan was being so kind and gentle to the beast that had attacked her!
Nightfall
Nightfall pricked her ears and moved into the trailer, eating the rest of the apple. She looked back at Hydra and smirked. "You're right - your humans are mice to those who deserve it." She said arrogantly. "Perhaps we'll meet again, Alpo." She still played the injured horse act, but she was happy that Ethan was treating her kindly even though she had attacked Ben and Hydra. She wanted to make Hydra jealous.
Blizz
blizz now chattered trying to hear lissa and wondered how she was.
Ethan, Danny, & Hydra
Ears folded back instantly and she turned about when Nightfall made the sly remarks. The other mare knew how to hit a nerve! "You talked so highly of being smart, but you've walked right into a trap!" She jeered, tail lashing once behind her as she tried to break the spirit of the other horse. But already, Night had done quite a bit to rile Hydra and her jealousy issues.
Closing the gate behind Nightfall, Ethan walked up beside the driver's door, "Take it easy, she's got a lame leg. I'll be back after I've taken Hydra to the vet." Turning to walk away, Ethan paused and looked back, eyebrows raised as he gave Dan a stern look, "Don't do anything stupid, Danny. Ben's in a bad enough mood as it is."
"Yes sir." Dan replied, half-mockingly. In light of Ben's accident though, he wasn't going to risk injuring the mare any more than she was. And so, with Ethan's advice, he headed for the cabin at an easy pace, trying not to jar the trailer around too much.
With a gun in one hand in case of attack, Ethan began to lead Hydra back to down. With her wounded leg, he wasn't about to ride her back.
