Vaykate
i have got to escape.
Her steps, as she moves slowly out onto the field, are cautious but graceful. Her feet seem to have minds of their own, which stop her from tripping or faltering and give Vaykate an unnatural grace. The gold of her palomino hide glistens breathtakingly as she moves, lithely, through grasses beaded with dew. Beams of fresh, morning light catch on her pelt and dance across the light dapples which shadow her haunches and shoulders. Despite the moisture, each silver strand of her asphalt mane remains airy and weightless, flowing about her face in bright rivulets. Vaykate’ tail, trailing behind her soft, young form like a robe, gathers liquid only at the base, darkening the pearly black to a deeper, fuller hue. Even so, the mare looks like a slip of sunlight- utterly divine.
She seems simply to be walking, enjoying the morning coolness while it lasts. The body of the sunlit mare is untouched by the wear and tear of old age. She is lean and muscular, with a swift edge. Vaykate’ skin is drawn tightly over her healthy sketch. The black eyes which rest behind that gossamer forelock glisten with intelligence and curiosity and her pelt has gloss and shine. A sad, soft look lingers around the young mare, though, almost like an aura or a shield. It locks her away from the rest of the world somehow, making her different from everyone else.
So she observes, and as she stands, she listens. Around her there is wonder, a summer breeze and a good day.

Latin
He moved away from his dear friend, the lovely Nirvana, to find himself staring at another beauty. Well, this land just seemed to be full of them! His black banner waved, and the chilean horse turned to see if any others were near. When he moved, his coat glistened and gleamed, showing off his dark dapple grey coat. His muscles bunched beneathed it, rippling with sheer power and his movements were that of grace and fluidity. The sun beat down upon him, highlighting his masculinity and he was proud of it, and himself. He was a breed not found here, so why shouldn't he be proud? As he came near, he said softly to the mare Hello there. His voice was accent filled, reminding one of spices and hot lusty nights. Maybe he could brighten someones day, or at least he should try. And he was going to, no matter what, at least make her smile. He hated seeing anothers sadness, for it made him sad as well. It made it so near possible for him to forget to put up those barriers, the ones that kept him safe at all times. No one would break them, not her. Not anyone.
Vaykate
Vaykate didn’t know what had gotten over her. She was in a new world with no ties. Memories bound her back to her old land and old ways, but she could repress them like all the others. The sun’s beams smoked her hide, and she soon obtained a near drowsy feeling. The lofts of grass around her tickled her bronze flesh, lobes twitching in the easy-sween breeze. Her amber eyes lumbered over the fresh rise to the west, the tops of trees in the far distant bulging with small birds, the far off hills a recreation so other creatures. You picked a good way to follow, girl,, she thought merilly. She hadn’t felt so positive in a long time. Battles and war and death and desertry were far off now. Always follow the west.
Her lean appendages tensed with raw muscle as she slowly gaited forward. Her beautiful crest raised up with each step, bobbing gently in the wind. She hadn’t moved far before she was forced to halt, her sense alert. Harks creased back as she heard someone approach, an she was immediately turned about.
A mass of grayness seemed to invade her vivid light that shrouded her, and Vaykate was curiously intrigued. The staggar’s breath smelled of sweet things, sticky like sap. His voice rang with the thickness of sweet honey. His eyes seemed to graze over her with a superior rise. Hmph. Stallions everywhere are the same. Vaykate raised her head, thoroughly vigilant. This one carried himself like the Dammers back home did. Full of authority and undeserved pride. Whether this one deserved his cockiness or not, Vaykate didn’t care. A sudden intrusion wasn’t very hospitable for a local. Vaykate ignored the fact that she had first intruded onto these lands.
Her eyes seemed to mist with suspicion, and nickered warily. “Hello yourself, stormy stranger. If you’re looking to execute intruders, look on. I’m merely passing through. I thought this place an open haven.” She spoke the truth, for if she was unwelcome, she’d know. However, she couldn’t help admiring the steely, clouded look the bronc had. Misty and cumulous, like the puffs above. He looks like he carries the Mansoon on his back, she marveled.
Latin
He gave a smile as he was acknowledged, and bobbed his dial in pleasure. But then her words sunk in, and a look of confusion crossed his face. Execute intru- No, my sister of the sun, you mistook me. I was just looking around when I saw you and thought to come introduce myself. I am Latin, of Chile. And you are? She herself was not so bad looking. Was he cocky and arrogant? Well, what stallion wasn't? But he wasn't out to impress, nor was he out to seek and destroy. Indeed, all he wanted was friends but her wariness made him a bit wary as well. Not of her, but of his personality. Had he said something to offend? He prayed not. He was just trying to be a gentle giant, minus the giant part. He certainly was not a giant, not like Clyde or Nirvana. But he was proud of himself, none the less. His black banner waved, and he looked about the prarie seeking out any dangers before lowering his head to snap up a quick bite of grass. Then he looked at her, a cute expression on his face as a bit of grass stuck out his muzzle. He looked...Boyish. So young and adorable and carefree. But, he had his serious side as well. Never judge a book by its cover, the saying goes.
Vaykate
The grasses blew all around her, continuing to tickle her sides and lean legs. She paid them no mind. Vaykate eyed the clouded bronc, but could conclude nothing. The scents of others equines were about him, so maybe he was here with a band of other roamers. Her nostrils flitted and the scent she received was much like his breath. It was hard to explain, but he smelled…warm. Vaykate, you delirious girl, she thought, chuckling inside, …how can something smell WARM?
The prime donna tossed her head, and looked at him again, only sideways. He didn’t change. He just seemed to get bigger, if that was possible. What she had before her was a cumulous-looking steed, with the scent of “warmth” about him, angling his charm towards her. Hmph. Didn’t they all?
She couldn’t help herself. “Chile? Never heard of such a place. Do those there have such a peculiar scent as you do? It’s quite distracting.” Brown-golded eyes averted away from Latin’s body and turned towards the horizon. She started to turn away. “No matter. If we’re talking introductions, I’m Vaykate. I was birthed in a land of sand and sun, but I know nothing else. But even though I was born in the desert, I still don’t smell like the sun like you do…” She whispered that last part, and was now headed away from him. She remained standing, but looked for something. Anything that could get her mind of his odd scent that so entranced her senses.
Latin
He blinked at her words. Sun? He felt pleased at that. He always prided himself on his bright and cheery personality. His tail swished in the long grass, a smile on his face. That is, until she looked away. Feeling slightly hurt, he said in reply You smell of oceans, of freedom of the sea. You look like the sun kissed you every day of your life, but left no burns only a beauty far greater then any other. He nodded. He wasn't lying. When he scented her, he could smell a sea. Maybe not in the way others would describe it, but heres his way. The ocean meant freedom. Freedom meant happiness. Happiness was good. Unless your crazy and don't like being happy, but he did so does this really matter? The clouded stallion offered a smile. I'm sorry. That was...Out of line. I shouldn't have said such things. Thank goodness for fur, otherwise she would see how red his cheeks would get if he could blush. He had never really expressed a mares beauty before. Not even to Nirvana. Well, he had but just in a joking manner. He had always called her "his" midnight desire for thats what she was. Every stallions want, every stallions dream. Yet, Latin here didn't really find her all that appealing to his senses. Not like Vaykate. No, there was something about her that he liked. Maybe it was just her prescence but he didn't think so. He just...Really liked her.
Vaykate
Ocean? What in the-
“Ocean? I’ve only seen one in my lifetime. Beautiful, but intimidating. Sand shifts, but it cannot wash you away.” memories clouded her mind and obscured her vision. She stopped in place from taking a few more steps and tossed her delicate head, obsidian drapes flailing above her and landing neatly on her neck. A deep, rumbling churn sounded in her chest as she nickered, reminiscing.
Sharp thoughts entered her mind, and were based on the stormy stranger behind her. She had no just reason for suddenly disliking him again, only that he mesmerized her, quickening her heart. Sunsets of the west did that. Sunsets laying over the mountains, twinkling into a purple haze of twilight. The stars peaked their brilliance, slowly, and then you blink. A blanket of light pin points the sky and you’re breathless, the desert warm still looming on the night.
Vaykate turned her head, metaphorical brow furrowed, eyes bright with confused anger. “You know nothing of beauty if you compare me to the brilliance of the sun. You are too easily awed, cloudy stranger.” Vaykate turned her body ‘round, once again, and marched straight up to him. She hadn’t meant to be so nasty so suddenly, but his admiration seemed undeserved. She had done nothing but stand and breath and give no kind words. Why this one hadn’t already grappled her neck with his teeth to show that he was the stallion, she had no idea. If this remark that she had thrown at the charmer finally offended him, she wouldn’t take her down alive. However, no matter how much she applied the ways of stallions to this one, she couldn’t see him doing a damn thing in violence. His scent gave her the impression of a warm summer day, sky filled with the type of clouds you find rabbits and boats in. She was sure he could get upset, and in that sense, she could see his eyes get cloudy with anger, and imagined the coloration of his pelt forming to look like an oncoming storm.
“You are not out of line, sir. I show too much gall to enter a strange land and to personally attack it’s creatures whom are trying to befriend me.”
Two-faced girl. She didn’t understand why she was giving this one some kindness. She owed him nothing. But then, he didn’t deserve her wrath. She chuckled, her body quivering in confusion. Everything was so strange.
Latin
He was pleased at her words, that is until she started with her anger. Latin....My name is Latin. He said in a soft voice. In it was not anger, but confused hurt. His thorns pin back at her other words, and he stepped away from her as she came forward but none was in anger but once more in confusion and hurt. I...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend.... Then she was saying she was sorry. Poor little Latin, so confused now he didn't know what to do. B-but You do remind me of the sun! With your bright colored pelt and brilliantly changing personality you are just like it in so many ways. I...I'm sorry. His ears moved forward a bit, as if they to were unsure what they wanted to do. Yes, little Latin was flabber ghasted now, and didn't know how to deal with himself. Or her for that matter.
Vaykate
Oh my. Look at what you’ve done now, missy. Vaykate cocked her golden head and locks of black rolled down. Amber eyes dulled to a dep chocolate brown as guilt overtook her. She had no reason to feel this way. She owed this stallion nothing. And yet, he had done nothing to her and it had been her own suspicious, paranoid mind that had savagely attacked a kind approach.
“Sir, I apologize. I am the one out of line by coming into this unknown place and treating a kind sir so harshly. But, give me a break. I’m unwell around strangers.” A soft rumbling sounded deep in her throat as she nickered softy his way. Her hard-ass posture changed to a rare, soft, graceful disposition. Harks were pinned down and her proud banner drooped, dragging obsidian to the floor.
The winds seemed to pick up all around her, chilling the balmly air. The setting matched her mood. She deserved misery. Heh, misery. That’s what it’ll be. “Latin. If I remind you of the sun, you have rightfully claimed that comparison. I am…honored? Oh I don’t know. Just, please, forgive me. These harsh words are just the result of a harsh life. Desert life will give you that, y’know.”
Latin
He smiled at her, his tail flicking. Just call me Latin. No kind sir, no sir. Just Latin. His gaze wandered, trying to find Nirvana or any of his other friends that he had found. When finding none, he turned back to her. His stormy bodice shimmered in the falling sun as he shook himself. I don't think life throws anyone a good bone. He replied casually. He glanced around, searching for nothing in particular now. Do you wanna go for a walk somewhere? I hear its a big place. Lots of room to explore.
