Bamboo
The tall Masai Giraffe strode through the grass on long, thin legs. Her head turned to look in all directions before moving closer to a budding tree. There were few leaves, but it was better than nothing. She extended her neck and munched on the leaves.
Elemental
She was an actress, yes she was. But do you care, I think not. Do you want to play with me, oh yes you do. I'm having fun, how about you?
Elemental trotted forth, searching for something to eat when all of a sudden she caught sight of a creature in the distance. The white wolfess trotted forward until she was a mere ten feet away and she stared in awe at the creature. Would she join her? Excuse me, what are you doing? She asked the giraffe. She had never seen a creature tall enough to eat the leaves from trees, so she really was curious.
Bamboo
Bamboo looked down at Elemental. "Oh. Hello." She said in a friendly manner. "I'm only eating these leaves is all. I've got to get my fill before the barbarians steal them all." By barbarians she meant the Haunters, who she had heard twisted stories about outside of the Valley.
Elemental
She stood on her hind legs, the tip of her nose coming up just to the Giraffes knees. What barbaians? You mean the Haunters, or the humans? She danced on her hind legs, trying to be as tall as possible. She didn't like to feel intimidated and well, those hooves looked like they could squish her, which she would prefer if they didn't.
Bamboo
Bamboo's eyes widened when she thought of the Haunters. "Oh, no. Not humans." She said calmly. "The Haunters, I think they're called. I've heard tale that they steal pups, calves and foals, and kill innocent animals for no apparent reason." She spread her legs apart and lowered her head to reach down to Elemental, seeing that she seemed uncomfortable around such a tall animal.
Elemental
Her grin became a dark one, and she replied in a smooth voice What if I were to tell you that there is a new pack? One that is against the Haunters as much as you and I both are? Would you join it? She lowered herself so that she was sitting, those glacier blue eyes of hers alight with mischeif.
Bamboo
Bamboo's eyes seemed to smile. "Oh, that sounds wonderful." She said happily. "I would join that pack any day, if it means the Haunters' downfall." She swished her tail at the pesky flies.
Elemental
Her smile grew bigger, but her eyes were soft with warmth and radiance. Would you like to meet them? I'm one of them. My names Elemental. The leader, he is Baphomet. He would love to see someone such as yourself on our side. Her tail curled around her body, and she smiled up at Bamboo. She had a feeling that her and the giraffe would become great friends.
Bamboo
Bamboo nodded. "I would love to meet this family of yours, Elemental." She said softly. "I am Bamboo, by the way." She liked the wolf's personality, and she too believed that they may become great friends. Her ear twitched as a fly landed on it.
Elemental
Her smile became wider. Then she felt another near by, and she said softly Go to those mountains, Bamboo. Tell them that I sent you, and you shall not be harmed. Ask for Baphomet. If he is not near by, ask for Vision. She will help you, she is my sister. The white wolfess gave a smile, then said There is another near by. I must see if she will join us as well. With that, she turned and raced away, with pads of fire. She hoped she hadn't seemed rude, but...This was important.
Bamboo
Bamboo raised her head and nodded, then walked towards the mountains.
