Trapt
Trapt had to be the oddest looking hybrid ever. His coat was that of blue merle, his eyes brown and blue mixed. Half and half, they were, cut horizontally giving him an odd eyed look. He was a nervous wreck, and he couldn't help it. Disturbed hadn't spoken to him in some time, but the males words stuck in his head like no others could. When I come for you, you'd better follow me. If you don't I will kill you and everyone you love. The only benefit of this? He didn't love anyone. Yet. Yet. He sighed softly. He was fine. Everything was fine, always was. He moved quickly through the prarie, not wanting to stay in one place for long but after many miles of travel he couldn't keep it up anymore. Panting, the blue merle lay down beneath a tree. He stretched out, and soon was asleep beneath the bright moonlight, and unlike the most the male didn't remain alert. He was just plain old out. It was a horrible habit, but he couldn't help it.
Aderyn
Fortunately for the unsuspecting Trapt, it was a friendly form that moved toward him through the tall grasses. The smallest and youngest of Karai's children was wandering far from home, an unusual pasttime for her. She was the shy, unassuming little wolfess who stayed at home and was bullied and pushed around by those bigger than her, even unintentionally. Nobody had ever really discovered what a sweetheart she could be because no one had ever looked at her as anything other than her mother's youngest daughter. It would take a very special person to locate any fun and silly side she might still possess. o=Mo< It was this particular load of emotions that trod on four legs toward Trapt. Her pale, pale blue eyes alighted on his blue coat, and she cocked her head silently. She had never seen such a color before. The moonlight gave Trapt an almost ethereal look, and the little curiosity she hadn't yet buried inside finally overrode her shyness, and she opened her mouth to speak. Her voice was soft and barely audible, the words spoken on a breath. Um... excuse me...
Wing your flight,
Ye winds of dust;
O'er the mountains
Rise with me.
Dust to dust
Wings to wind
Twisting rainbows,
Melting miles.
A long day's travel
To rest at dusk.
Rise with me!
Wings to wind,
Dust to dust.
Trapt
He heard something, as if from a distant dream. He stirred, murmering softly in his dream before he raised his head up and looked around him, his horizontal eyes searching for whatever it was that had awoken him. Thats when he saw her. His eyes seemed to soften, and to her he replied Hey.... His voice was warm, so much warmer then Disturbeds own. He turned so that he was fully facing the female, his eyes upon Aderyn fully now. She herself looked so ethereal, the moonlight playing over her coat. She was so beautiful, a goddess of the moon sent to him from Heaven. I....I'm Trapt. Whats your name? He knew nothing of a Karai, nothing of her children. He knew only Carnage and Disturbed. Yeah his circle of friends was a massive one, could you tell?
Have your nails dug the deepest,
Have you broken skin this time?
Made your mark and took me deeper
As you drown me with your eyes
I held my hand over your mouth
As you scream me to feel
You felt my scars with Understanding
But I can't promise anything
Aderyn
So timid was she that she almost jumped as he spoke to her, but she forced herself to remain still, searching for something to distract her from the pounding of her own heart. Finally, she took to gazing at his two-colored eyes in wonderment. She was familiar with wolves who had eyes of two different colors, but never had she met someone who possessed two different colors in the same eye.
Realizing that she was staring, and that he had introduced himself, Aderyn shook herself a little, voice coming low again, almost too soft to be called a whisper, but it held its own degree of warmth. Hello... I'm... Aderyn.
Her eyes kept drifting back to his blue coat, his duo-colored orbs, even against her will they would drift back there. She was trying to think of a way to ask without it sounding as though she thought him a freak. She didn't think he was a freak... just... different from anyone she had ever known. In a good way. Finally, her voice came forth again, still so soft, soft as the wind. Where... where do you come from?
Rise with me
Above the hurt
Above the shame
Above the past
Rise with me
Above the ashes
And you can be whole again...
Trapt
He grinned at her, his blue coat shimmering in the moon light as he shifted positions. Ah...Thats kind of a complicated question. I don't really remember where I started. Far as I remember, a place far from here. Then I ran into this big bad wolf, and I thought he was going to eat me or something! His tail thumped and he laughed at her, well not at her but at himself. What was so funny? He didn't know. He was just....Freaked out that someone besides Disturbed was talking to him. But, as you can see I'm alive and whole. His tail continued to wag and he grinned at her before sitting up. Your very pretty Aderyn. Where do you come from? Cause I know where I come from, there was no one as pretty as you. He'd only seen Disturbed and Black Fyre in these lands, so he really had nothing to compare her to but he still thought she was goregeous.
Do you see me for who I am?
Can't you see that I'll stand up for what I am
Playing, always Hating
I hear you always saying
Your gonna bring me down, oh yeah
Your gonna bring me Down
Aderyn
If wolves could blush, Aderyn would have turned scarlet at Trapt's sudden and unexpected compliment. Never before had anyone told her she was pretty. She had just assumed that she was not. It was not that her family was unloving. No, her mother and siblings were some of the most lovable wolves around. It was simply that no one had ever seemed to notice her. The compliment made her feel weird, but in a good way. Mo< His obvious gaiety and light-hearted attitude finally made her smile, so soft and small as to be almost non-existent, but it was an improvement. She ducked her head a little, almost embarrassed, but she let her voice flow forth, and this time it was less whisper and more substance, and her tail waved shyly, almost as if uncertain of its acceptance. I have lived here all my life. I was born here. My mother is Karai, the valley's fosterer, and I have three siblings. Saxton, Joscelin, and Ziarre.
Rise with me
And never fall
You brought me from darkness
We're flying to the light
Open your eyes
Help me open mine
And maybe we'll see
The sun again.
Rise with me...
Trapt
Wow. I'll bet none of them are as pretty as you though. Cause, I have yet to meet anyone as pretty as you. His tail wagged more furiously now, and he stood. As he did, his coat glimmered in the ethereal moonlight and his eyes glittered at her. His grin was wide, and all for Aderyn. I don't think I have any siblings. If I do then....I wanna see what they look like! He was of course talking about his own blue, black, tan, and white coat. Ha, he was just pretty as a midnight rainbow. Hey, I like that. Yeah, hes a midnight rainbow. He couldn't sit still. His eyes kept roaming over Aderyn, then the prarie, then Aderyn. His paws kept shifting, and he was just so antsy. Must be the Aussie in him.
Aderyn
A sweet smile broke over her face, taking him in fully as he stood. The moonlight gave him an even more ghostly look, and it took her breath away. Finally, she managed to find her voice, and shyly decided to return the compliment, though she was very afraid of being rejected. You... should always stand in the moonlight. It... becomes you most excellently. And her tail waved uncertainly.
But his mention of a lack of siblings brought her back to a more comfortable subject, and she switched topics willingly. Well, siblings are nice... but sometimes not all everyone says they can be. My brothers, my sister... they are wonderful. But...
She did not want to say that she envied them, and really almost resented them, because they were all so self-assured and so outgoing. Aderyn had never been that way. She took after her grand-dam, though she did not know it. Shy almost to the point of complete withdrawal, she was amazed at herself for having such a conversation with a near-stranger. Mo< Finally, she found a proper word, and spoke again.Sometimes... it is hard to have siblings... when everyone seems to think that they are better than you.
Trapt
Really? You think so? I thought it made me look like a phantom or something and thats why no one would ever talk to me! He was grinning now, and his entire back end was wagging with excitement. Someone was talking to him! Not giving him orders, telling him who to be. No, sirree. Then she spoke of her siblings, and he sobered up. His voice was soft now, and so serious it was like talking to a completely different creature. Yeah. I know how that goes. Again his mind drifted to Disturbed. The wolf hadn't spoken to him in some time, and it made the hybrid wonder if perhaps the canine had forgot about him. It wouldn't be a bad thing, actually quite great. But for now, he was stuck here waiting for anything and anybody. And who to happen upon him but Aderyn? So sweet....So sweeet.
Aderyn
She smiled and a low chuckle escaped her, her smile growing sweeter and more genuine. Her tail wagged more broadly, now assured of her acceptance. This male valued her as an individual, and did not seem to mind that she was different from most wolves.
The low chuckle that escaped her contained both mirth and warmth, for she was quickly growing comfortable with him. And whatever gave you the idea that all phantoms are terrifying? Some are quite friendly, or so Astra says. Astra was the daughter of one of her father's friends, and very connected to the spirit world and the world of the stars. Astra often frequented among those the world could not see.
But he brought the subject back to siblings, and she spoke again. So, if you have no siblings... then who do you have? No one?
Trapt
Something flickered in those odd colored eyes of his, sadness and some form of hurt. But just as quickly he covered it up and shrugged his shoulders, a smile crossing his lips. Nah, I don't have anyone. Like I've repeated again and again, I have Disturbed but hes not an individual you want to meet. He...He doesn't really like people. He looked upwards to the stars, and said in that soothing tone of his You know, everyone always says that theres a heaven and Hell. But do you really think there is? I mean, what about the spirits that get caught because of a bad act and they have something they need to finish but can't? What happens to them? So he was going way off subject, but he didn't really want to remember that he had no family left. But...Perhaps he did....
Aderyn
A very perceptive wolf herself, Aderyn distinctly caught the pain that crossed Trapt, even as he cut it off from himself. She murmured, Oh, I'm sorry. And the words were empty, as they always are when they have to be said.
But he quickly moved on to more comfortable topics, and she moved with him, trying to help him forget the pain, if not the source of it. She let her soft voice flow again, for unlike most of her siblings, she knew that her mother had lost much, and knew that her mother often wondered if there was Heaven and Hell. Her voice was soft and sweet. I believe... that there must be something after, whether we name it Heaven, or Purgatory, or Phor Tavor, or whatever we call it. There must be something, if only because the thought of those we love floating forever in oblivion is much too painful. I believe that as long as we believe in Heaven, that very belief creates it.
That thought led her to wonder once again, as she often had, about her father. Siyamak... was not a wolf anyone wanted to meet. No, he was the devil in a wolf's form. Never had she told anyone about him. But... maybe... maybe Trapt would understand the dark secret of her family, when he so openly admitted that Disturbed was terrible.
So she shyly put it forth. And there must be a Hell. There must be something to contain... to keep him. My father. He is...was... And she closed her eyes, shuddering, for she remembered the day her siblings had forgotten, when their father had tried to kill them all. He was... death, disease, damnation... everything evil was in him. If there is no Hell to keep him... then we are in grave danger. God, oh God, she hoped there was a Hell that would keep him contained and never let him loose on the world again. There are some things that should remain in the grave...
Trapt .+. Kage
Awww how sweet, two little sweet children, sitting here all alone.....So...Alone. My eyes light up with dark evil and....Psychoticness? Well, even I'd admit that I wasn't quite sane. I had to, how else could you explain my need to kill certain wolves and their spawn? I nearly snarled at the thought of White Tip. Her children were still alive. I'd kill them. I'd kill them all. But for now, we needed members. Members of the...Shadow Haunters. My eyes light up at the name, and I come forth all dark enchantment and glitter. Ah, my dear. I am sorry to hear that....Oh...I'm so sorry for intruding. My eyes lift to Trapt. I knew him! Oh this was getting better and better. Trapt! My dearest friend how are you? Something in his eyes and body posture changed, and I kept my eyes full of happiness even though something inside of me hissed at his retreat, even if it was on the inside. Trapt, dear. Don't you remember me? Kage? Again he moved, this time shifting towards the girl as if to protect her. Silly boy, didn't he know I was stronger then he? Yeah. I remember you. Your a friend of Disturbeds. Okay, I was getting somewhere. At least he remembered me. I put a bit of hurt in my voice now. Trapt, dear...Whats wrong? You don't look like your normal self. His lip curled, was it a snarl or a sneer? I couldn't quite tell. I've changed quite a bit since you took off, Kage. Now, be the shadow your so well named after and take off. I speak again, my french accent more prounounced now as my temper begins to heat up. Now now, whats the rush? I just thought I would stop by and see an old friend. I was losing him. I could see it, I was losing him. Damn it, come on Trapt, throw me a bone here. I needed to gain members for the Haunters. Word of another pack was going around, and we didn't need that. No no, certainly not.
Trapt had put himself in front of Aderyn for one reason. He knew of the other females blind rages, how she would choose to kill anyone at her whim. She was crazy, and he knew it. Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend Trapt? He had always hated her. She could change her voice to just the perfect pitch, match anything she wanted. Be whoever she wanted. That french accent only grated on him the wrong way. No. He could see the frustration flicker breifly in her eyes. He didn't want Aderyn in danger. For the first time, he felt happy and not put down because of what he was. A hybrid in a world of wolves.
Aderyn
Trapt's sudden change in attitude put Aderyn completely on her guard. She let him pass in front of her, almost in a daze. Aderyn was trying her best not to cower behind Trapt, for she was above all a shy person, and a little frightened. But Kage's words brought her to step a little to the side where Kage would see her. Her voice was soft and a little scared, but cold in a way Trapt had not yet heard it. Who I am is none of your business. I am my own wolf, my own soul.
Kage .+. Trapt
Something lit up in the black wolfess's eyes, something dark and sinister, as Aderyn spoke her words. Ah, but it is my business my dear. For you see, this coward that you hide behind, he sold his soul to the devil himself. She would get the massive black male here, if it was the last thing she did. Kage raised her black tiara, and let loose a howl as hauntingly beautiful as it was dark and cold. An answering howl responded, and it wasn't to far away. Trapt took a step back, his eyes looking left then right. Stop it, Kage! Thats not funny. But that manical laughter was his only response. He comes for you, my dear. For the both of you, the vampire does. Sure enough, the sound of running pads could be heard. As Trapt looked towards the sound, the black wolfess slipped into the long grass, her movements gentle and silent.
He was a beast worth staring at. His eyes fell upon Trapt, then to Aderyn. Those fire hot, yet ice cold eyes. They were vivid red, but with that red came streaks of blue shooting from the males iris's. He was a legend back in Transylvania, and here he was soon to become one. He was massive, weighing around 170 pounds, and his movements were smooth and graceful. Why hello, Trapt. Who is your little....Friend. Something about the way he said friend was none to comforting for Trapt, and he tried his hardest not to nip Aderyn and run. No, he had to stay. He'd have to face Disturbed someday. I....I was just....-cough- Her names Aderyn sir. Ashamed, he dropped his eyes to Disturbeds feet. Aderyn....Such a beautiful name, for such a lovely creature. A certain hunger came into those eyes, and it wasn't for food. He took a step forth, and bared his fangs slightly at Trapt, who still moved not. He trembled where he stood, and put himself in front of Aderyn. N-no. S-S-Shes my friend. My friend. But there was no telling the behemouth no, and Trapt knew it. A sharp yelp escaped the hybrid, as Disturbed lunged forth and fangs slashed deeply into his neck. Trapt was no fighter, that was for certain. Just go away. He whispered softly.
Aderyn
Aderyn saw the look in the other male's eyes, and it gave her the willies, but she was not about to admit that. No, her mother had been forcebred, and she could not let herself be any less strong than her mother was. And the attack on her new friend awakened the little temper that Aderyn had. So she let her voice come, a little trembling, but firm. If I need to... I can call my brothers, and my friends... and they will make you leave. I am not without allies. They can make your life miserable, or you can leave on your own and avoid that. I give you one chance to make up your mind before I call them. Her insides were shaking, and her knees trembling, but she HAD to say something.
Disturbed .+. Trapt
And you think I do not have allies, my dear? Little pathetic Trapt here, he cannot fight me. He has to fight with me. Otherwise...He knows what happens. Trapt flinched at the words, as if he had been visibly struck. Disturbed...Sir. Please, just leave us alone....We didn't- But he was cut off. Do anything? Oh, you've done plenty for the two of you Trapt. You didn't come when I called you, you pathetic mutt. The giant vampire bared his fangs at Trapt, and as quick as a snake he struck him once more. Blood furrowed across Trapts face, across his odd colored eyes. He tried his hardest not to cry. Please just go away. His voice was barely above a whisper. A dark smile spread across Disturbeds lips, and without another word he turned and trotted away.
Trapt nearly wept with relief. I'm...I'm so sorry, Aderyn. If...If you don't want to be my friend any more, I understand. He said to her, trying to choke back the tears. He had finally made a friend, had Disturbed and Kage taken her away from him?
Aderyn
Aderyn scowled to cover up her intense fear of this cruel male, and raised her voice again. Perhaps Trapt is afraid of you, but I am not. But Disturbed had already trotted away, and probably had not even heard her. So she turned her attention to her distressed friend, voice soft and sweet as she began to wash him down with her soft tongue. No, I will not let him drive me away, Trapt. Never you mind about him, my friend. He does not know what a powerful enemy he has made this day. She was trembling violently herself, but she forced the words past her lips. He does not know that at my mother's word, four packs and their allies, most of the valley, will rise against him. If he threatens us again, he will pay.
And she trotted off a ways, coming up with an herb. She came back toward him chewing it, and deftly swiped it over the worst of the wounds to numb the pain and prevent infection. Her eyes grew cold as she stared after Disturbed, a chill running down her spine at the thought of him. We will not be victims, Trapt.
