Keilo, Kanan, Umay

The large wolf came in, reducing his speed from a sprint to a like walk. He instantly scanned the area with all his senses, making sure there was no danger.

Kanan charged past his father and raced around in the melting snow. "Wow! This place is huge!" he yipped, then looked back to see if his other siblings were here yet.

Vatoni, Kiolana, Kouji

The gray hunteress walked up beside her mate, smiling at her son. "Yes, it is big" she said.

Kiolana stood beside her father, pawing at the slushy snow..

Kouji soon arrived, her snuck up behind Kanan and leaped, trying to tackle him.

Keilo, Kanan, Umay

Kanan was sniffing at the wind and utter oblivious to his brother sneaking up on him. With a startled yelp, he was tackled to the ground. Realizing it was only Kouji, Kanan gave a playful growl and swatted at his brother's head with one of his paws.

Umay raced around in the snow, but kept close to her parents. Then she spotted a small tunnel that went down into the ground. It was far too small for her to fit into, but she began to dig at it, trying to make it larger. Her tail waived merrily, and she yipped now and then. She was curious about what might be in the hole.

Vatoni, Kouji, Kiolana

Vatoni smiled at her pups and nudged her mate playfully..

Kouji growled playfully at Kanan, bighting at his ear.

Kiolana raced over to her sister and began to dig with her..

Keilo, Kanan, Umay

Keilo hadn't played any sort of game for a long time now; no, the last time he played was back when Cedar and Nau were still in his pack and before his previous alpha, Stormfalcon, had disappeared. He was had been so wrapped up in worrying over and caring for the pups and his mate that the notion of play was put aside. Now that all was well, why not have fun? Keilo swished his tail and grinned in a playfully way. He snatched up a large raven feather and sprung away from Vatoni, "Betcha' can't catch me!" He stated, shaking the feather from side to side. He almost felt foolish, but it was fun to act like a pup sometimes.

Umay dug furiously at the hole, flinging up mud and slushy snow. "I wonder what lives in here!" she barked to Kiolana as she continued to dig.

Kanan growled as fiercely as he could, but still in a playful way. Now he tried to bit Kouji's ruff and shake it; but he was careful not to shake too hard so he didn't rip out any of his brother's fur.

Vatoni, Kiolana, Kouji

Vatoni grinned, "Betcha I can!" she barked, running after him...

Kiolana nodded swiftly as she dug beside her sister, "Yeah, maybe whatever it is could play with us!" she said, digging up the mud and slushy snow.

Kouji yelped when Kanan grabbed his ruff, but it wasn't because of pain, no, it didn't hurt. He snarled playfully at his brother, trying to pin him, which would be hard because Kouji was the smallest in the litter...

Keilo, Kanan, & Umay

Keilo dashes away, then turns his head back to look at his mate. He was grinning still with the feather clenched tightly between his jaws. But he wasn't looking where he was going for a moment, and stumbled over a large clump of dead grass..

Umay dug quicker until most of her fur was speckled, if not completely caked, with mud and bits of dead grass. Panting now from the effort, she thrust her muzzle down the narrow hole, seeing if she could smell or feel what was down there, "I hope so!" she replied to her sister.

Kanan shook his brother's ruff again, still snarling playfully. He tried to squirm away from Kouji now so he wouldn't be pinned. Then he tried to pin his brother.

Vatoni, Kiolana, Kouji

Vatoni grinned, and laughed when her mate stumbled. Taking advantage of it she tried to tackle him..

Kiolana, now covered in mud as well nodded, "yeah!" she keeps digging harder, slinging mud everywhere.

Kouji, sense he was smaller than Kanan, was tackled. Yelping in surprise he tried to get away...

*Caribou*

A slight rumbling could be felt through the sensitive paws of the wolves. On the horizon, it seemed a forest of antlers had suddenly appeared. A few moments later, it could be seen that hundreds of caribou were running across the ground! It seemed that the famine would was finally over, or at least there were now caribou here to eat. The herd was a good distance from the wolves, but the sheer mass of them caused the ground to tremble slightly as the ran.

In the hole Kiolana and Umay were digging in was a badger. He watched with wide eyes as the pups dug closer and closer to him. If they dug any more, they might be able to reach him.

Vatoni, Kiolana, Kouji

Vatoni looked in the direction of the Caribou, they needed to move there pups before the animals got closer, "Keilo, we need to get the children out of the way!" she said..

Kiolana, to focused on the badger didn't notice the caribou. She kept digging, "I SEE IT!"

Keilo, Kanan, & Umay

Keilo perked his ears up, watching the herd intently. He figured it would be impossible to rush at such a large herd to drive them away from the pups; they could easily just stampede and make a bigger problem. "You're right; they are too danger in such large numbers." Keilo looked over at the pups and gave a sharp alarm bark to get their attention, "We must get out of here!" He waited until the pups were ready to go; he wouldn't leave until he was sure they would all follow.

Kanan heard his father and promptly back away to let Kouji up. "Wow! Look at that, Kouji!" He barked enthusiastically, looking at the caribou.

Umay vaguely heard her father bark, but was too preoccupied in reaching the badger. "Me too! Woah, I wonder what that is!" now she dug even more so that she was able to get half over her body in the hole; now she was almost completely covered in mud and hard to see. Shaking her fur, she backed out of the hole to let her sister get a better look. "I wonder what that is." Tilting her head in a curious way, she decided to speak to the badger, "Hey, why don't you come outta there?"

Vatoni, Kiolana, Kouji

Kouji looked at the herd of caribou. Then he looked back to his brother, "We need to go to mom and dad!" he barked. Then, he turned, running over to his parents..

Vatoni barked to her daughters, running over to them, "Come! We need to leave now!" She said. Shaking her head at her daughters, they were covered in MUD! But mud wasn't a problem right know, they needed to get out of the way.

Kiolana looked at the badger, "Come on out, we want hurt you!" she said. But when her mother came over she jumped out of the whole. Looking at the caribou she was suddenly a little scared..

Keilo, Kanan, & Umay

Kanan followed after his brother, quite ready to leave.

Umay was still very much interested in the badger, but finally looked up when Kiolana jumped back and her mother came over. That's when she saw the herd. Her eyes went wide and Umay ran over to her mother, "W-what are those?"

"Lets head to the central pack lands for now." Keilo said now that all the pups were paying attention. Kanan waited a moment, looking back at all the caribou. But the quaking ground told him just how dangerous such animals could be in a large herd; he quickly made his way to the pack lands. Umay followed.

Keilo began to follow them, but waited for his mate and other two pups. He certainly didn't want Kouji or Kiolana to get accidentally left behind.

Vatoni, Kiolana, Kouji

Vatoni looked at Umay, "There Caribou and could be dangerous. Listen to your father and go to the central pack lands" she said. Kiolana nodded and gave the animal in the whole one last look before she ran off after her siblings. Vatoni came up behind all four pups, making sure there were together.

Kouji, being smallest was running the slowest. He tried to keep up but couldn't.

Vatoni saw her son slowing, reaching down she picked him up by the scruff and ran, holding him in her mouth.

"mama!" he wiggled in her mouth, but soon quieted, he like not having to run.

Kiolana giggled at her brother and kept up with the others...

Keilo

Seeing that everyone was heading out, Keilo also left. Since his mate was behind the pups to make sure they didn't fall behind, Keilo came up on one side of them as he sprinted back to the Central Pack Lands.
