Cookie
A red bay pony came sailing into the lands with a flagged tail and a raised head. His nostrils wide, his ears towering to listen to all. He blew a delightful snort with prancing legs. Slowing his trot and lowering his thick nape to sniff the ground. Tear-drop orbs scanned the land as he panted through dialated nares. With every turn of his head, his thick mane would dance and every once in a while the fly swatter would woosh through the air to flick at his painted sides. With a brilliant call he whinnied through the air, kicking up his front legs and pawing at the air. Towering near 13 feet on his hind legs.
At this height he could see all. Standing on his hind legs for just a moment longer, then gently letting front daggers tap the ground beneath him. His fun in this place had just begun, but so would his pains. He lowered his head, keeping an alert ear as he chewed the dieing grass beneath him.
Pokey
The King Penguin slowly made his way through the snow. It was quite easy for him to slide across the snow on his white belly, but this time he was walking, so he could see any predators coming his way. He noticed a large creature in the distance. It didn't look like anything that might be willing to eat him, no, it wasn't anything he had ever seen before. He cautiously approached it, noticing that it ate grass, not arctic birds. "Hello. I've never seen one of you before. I'm Pokey." He said, looking up at the 'monster.'
Cookie
His head lifted as the sound of crunching snow. Half blue eyes widening to show the easily visible whites. He was suprised at the creature and turned around. walking up to it with an arched neck and erect ears. Snorting and sniffing the new creature. "What the hell are you?" He said bluntly, every time his nose got close, he drew it away and let it bounce a bit then lift his head and pawed at the creature to see if it would move. Bull-whip flicked to his sides in curiousity as he examined the creature. "How could you have never seen one of me? We are all over the place. The horse, of course." He snickered and tossed his painted pate. The black dot on his lip lifting playfully. My name is Cookie, kinda girly, but it's what my mom called me since I was little." He chucked and watched the strange tuxido creature. "Are... are you a bird? You look really stange to be a bird?" Now he was thinking out loud. wondering to himself what this new thing could be.
Pokey
Pokey shook his head. How rude! Horses can be so rude! He thought. Perhaps we only get what we don't deserve because of our ill behavior. But he knew that everything was just meant to happen. He was meant to get lost...So he could tell this creature to behave! "You know, I don't mean to be rude, but you're being rude." He said. "Anyways, my name is Pokey, and I am a king penguin. Pleased to meet you, horse." He bobbed his head, as penguins do so often.
Cookie
Cookies eyes grew innocent and he smiled a horsey smile. "Rude? I'm not rude, just opinionated." He laughed and flicked his tail. Beginning a slow, pleasure like trot around the penguin. So slow it looked as if here were just walking fancy. "Pleasure to meet you Pokey. And please call me Cookie, not horse." He shook his head. He was talking to a flightless bird. The last flightless bird he knew, Allen the rooster, he ran over. Hahaha, Fun times.
He pinned his ears back, looking at Pokey. This bird was much bigger than a rooster though. Still, it was.... tempting to go after. " Why do you walk on two legs. You look like the bird version of a human" He murmured and paused from his trot. Shiny coat flexing as he turned toward the bird.
Pokey
Pokey watched the horse and turned as he circled around. "Well Cookie it is then." Said Pokey. He did not think it odd that a male horse was named Cookie. His own name was quite odd as well. He was somewhat fast for a penguin, even on two legs. So Pokey didn't really suit him. But it didn't matter to him.
"Don't all birds walk on two legs?" Pokey asked, confused. "Perhaps you mean to ask why I walk upright, in a straight position. I guess...I guess the Creator just made me that way. Did He not make you to walk on four legs?" He chuckled. He knew some fellow penguins who told him that they just came about by chance, and were made to waddle and swim and do all a penguin should do, just by nobody! He knew that was impossible!
Cookie
His ears were forth toward the bird. Moving his red bay painted body toward penquin. "A creature who creates us?" He elevated his head in thought. "I was made? My mother said that I was born. But.. I don't really remember my real mother. She was taken from me before memory began... So I guess I could have been made.." His legs locked and he popped a hip, letting himself rest. Lowering his head to be even with the penguin. "How does this creator create us, or more? How was he created?" His mind began to wonder into placed it might not suppose to go.
Pokey
Pokey knew exactly how to answer the horse. "Yes. Of course. We were all created. All creatures are supposed to praise the Creator. It's why animals were made." He replied confidently. "Nobody knows how He created us, and He wasn't created. He was always there, and will always be there. And He loves us, too. The humans have a book about Him. I saw a gentleman reading it once." For Pokey, just thinking that the Lord could be there forever and ever and not be created was mind boggling, but he knew it was true.
Cookie
Cookie tilted his head, Remembering painful words his master use to say. Wondering if what she said was all true about there being nothing there. About how if he really existed he just placed her on the earth to make everyone else feel better. "My mother use to call a "God" A tormenter? Are they the same?" He questioned then shook his head. "Nah, it couldnt' be, how you make him sound, he's a great creature. Tell me more?" His tail twitched eagerly. Ears flicking as he lowered and raised his head.
Pokey
Pokey rested his bottom on the ground. "Tell you more? Okay!" He said happily, then began the story. "He first created the earth, light the sun and the moon. Then some animals--every one on the face of the earth--and then two humans. A man and a woman, whose names were, I think, something along the lines of Adam and Eve. They had children and their children had children and so forth. The same with the animals. Their children had children, then it goes on until the animal goes extinct. God put humans in charge of the animals and told humans to do whatever they need to to live off of the plants and animals, as long as it's not killing another human. They can kill animals, though. And if you look around, the bird and whale's song, the wolf's and horse's beautiful coat all praise the Creator in their own way. Even you praise the Creator, even if you don't know it." He paused. "What else do you want to hear about the Lord?"
Cookie
He was liking the sound of it all. It all seemed so interesting so wonderful, so beautiful. To great to be real. Until one sentence caught him by suprise and he couldn't help but wonder. "They cannot kill each other, but they can kill us. Does that apply to us. Should we not kill each other but be allowed to kill the humans?" He snorted, remembering the slaughter house his human mother spoke of. How horrible it sounded, how disgusting they treated their prisoners. She told him how they would tie up innocent sheep and slit their throat while they lay helpless, fidgiting and crying out for their friends and mothers with their dieing breath, as their blood drained and left their bodies empty. How they kicked creatures in the face. Horses were shot in the head before hung by their foot and drained of their blood... They were lucky, at least they didn't have to feel their life slowly seep from their grasp. "What right do they have to kill us? Without being punished? Do we get punished for harming a human?" He became slightly nervous wondering what the Creator, could really do.
