Austin, Bree, Cooper, Duncan, Jersey, Nova, Sierra

At the very edge of the tall grass was a large boulder. Around it was a strange bunch of canines. Border collies, to be more precise. Each one was in a different color, completely varying from the others. Some stood out like sore thumbs, while the rest were as light as the grass.

Playing in the deep snow was a small group of the dogs. One was a red merle, another was a tan, and the last was chocolate hued. Duncan, the merle, was yipping and bouncing around like the ground was hot. Bits of snow were tossed up around his form as he played with his fellow Borders. Austin, the tan canine, was following Duncan's movements. Jumbled and quick words were exchanged, so fast that one could only hope to understand them. The red fae, known as Bree, was jumping around with them.
The other canines were huddled next to the giant rock, trying to keep warm, despite the cold temperatures of the valley. Snow drifts had started up on them, causing the white powder to pile up next to them like ramps.
"It's too cold here, even," one spoke up, and the others simply nodded. So now was the time for a rest, but not for some of them. They would regret it later, though...

Minzo/Rosuto

Minzo shivered as he walked through the pure white snow. "Let's go, Rosuto!" He yelled back to his brother. He stopped when he saw some creatures in the field. They weren't coyotes like him and his brother; they were dogs. He didn't want to get too close, for he knew that these dogs could have once been owned by humans or interacted with wolves, and he knew that was bad.

"What are you waiting for!" Snapped Rosuto in a grumpy tone. "You're so--" He, too stopped. "Dogs! Tons of them! They can take us to Tahti!" He spoke of his sister, which he did not often do. He ran to the dogs and asked them excitedly, "Can you help us find our sister?" He sat in the snow, even though it was quite cold on his bottom.

Cooper, Nova, others

All of the collies were going about their own business, the three wildest of the bunch still jumping through the snow like it was nothing. If they hadn't been playing, maybe they would have noticed the coyotes first. But of course, they didn't.
A sharp bark from a black and white male ceased their antics as he stood up. This one was Cooper, the closest thing to regular black and white. His multicolored eyes looked on with a gleam as one of the coyotes came up to them. He stepped over lightly, picking his way through the crystal snow with ease.
"Who's your sister?" he asked, auds pricked. He took a seat in the snow as well, ignoring the chill he recieved. He seen himself as somewhat of a leader for this group, since he had experience the most in his life. Although he wasn't old, he had gotten battered up many times before, and that only slightly hindered him.

Nova came up next. She was the blue Border collie, or otherwise slate or gray. Her dark blue eyes studdied the smaller canine, and she tilted her head to the side. Being one of the most mature of the dogs, she was often one to check things out with Cooper. Puphood friends they were.

The rest of them stayed where they were, simply caught in a staring trance, believing that the "main dogs" could handle these two.

Minzo/Rosuto

Minzo yipped at Rostuo. "We don't know if these guys are good or bad yet!" He whispered.

"They're cool, Minzo." Said Rosuto. "Our sister is Tahti. We heard word that she came here. We just want to know where she is and make sure she's safe."

Cooper, Nova, Duncan, others

Cooper simply gave a little shrug, much in the way of humans. He then took a moment, thinking back to when they just got here. He had never heard of anyone anyway, as he was sure it was the same for the other dogs.
"Actually, we're as new here as they come," he stated, pausing, "but we could always help you look for her." Whoever she is... he then thought silently to himself, not remembering seeing any coyotes at all since coming into valley borders. "You?" he asked, looking to Nova who took a seat contentedly next to him.

Nova sat there, her dark eyes quite quizitive. She didn't know of anyone either. She gave her head a light shake, "No, but as he said, we could help on the search." she stated, her voice airy and calm. Her banner waved behind her slightly as she looked to the coyote brothers, floppy auds twitching.

"Wai wai wait!" another voice spoke up, and the same red merle from before came upon the group. His light clear eyes searched everyone's features for an answer to what was going on, before he himself sat back on his sleek haunches. He was panting lightly, exhausted from leaping around in the snow.

Minzo/Rosuto

Minzo nodded. "Well, thanks anyway." He said politely, then began to walk away.

"Halt!" Exclaimed Rosuto, perking his ears and looking at Minzo. "They said that they can help us find Tahti!" He looked back at the dogs. "She basically looks like us, only taller. She should be alone and she doesn't like most wolves. She likes rocky places, like cliffs, creeks and canyons." He was determined to find his older sister, but he was worried that he could not do so without help. Of course, he would have a little help from Minzo.

Cooper, Nova, Duncan, others

Cooper looked at the coyote brothers, deep in thought. Although they just met each other, he was quite ready and willing. There were more than enough here to scout the lands for seperate search parties.
"Well, we could get started right now on the search. I could have everyone split up and look, as little search parties." he stated, wondering how many coyotes were in the valley. There were many animals that looked the same.

Nova was thinking herself. She could lead one of those parties in the search. While she was wondering whether or not they needed to take such steps, she was all for it if everyone else was. But even if they weren't, they'de go anyway. Cooper could handle that.

Duncan was quickly losing interesting in the conversation, and finding that he was getting ignored as far as speech, he stood up and sauntered away. His mind was on other things.

Minzo/Rosuto

Minzo yipped. "Well let's go then!" He was eager to find his sister, even if it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. He wasn't aware of what his sister had done to get her a bad reputation, but not many knew of her alliance with Vicious. And fewer knew that Vicious was her mate!

Rosuto was less excited than his brother. "We need to look everywhere for her. She probably will be alone." He, too, was unaware of Tahti's bad actions.

Cooper, Nova, others

Cooper gave a nod, and turned so both brothers were completely in view. "I'll divide everyone into search parties-- it could prove very beneficial." he stated, turning now so that he could see all of his fellow Borders, then looked back to the coyotes. He was quite sure that they had all been listening in on this conversation.
"We'll all team up, then, unless you have a problem with this?" he then stated, auds twitching. This may or may not be very hard, but they had enough here to easily navigate the lands.

Nova simply sat there, nodding every once in a while. She didn't have much to say at the moment. Cooper was handling this quite well, as he always did with everything, it would seem. Yawning lightly, she stood up and headed back to the other dogs, deciding to get them in order before they would even think of running off.

Minzo/Rosuto

Minzo nodded, his tongue lolling out of his mouth. "Sounds great let's go!" He said happily.

"Not so fast, Minzo." Said Rosuto. "So who's on whose team?"

Cooper, Nova, Duncan, others

Cooper thought, and his mind was soon made up. When he went to turn back to the others, Nova apparently already had the two teams made up and sorted out. She was standing there off to the side, looking at Cooper.
"Well, Bree, Austin, and Jersey are on that team," he began, pointing his nose in the direction of each canine as he ran off the names, "and then there's Sierra, Duncan, and Nova on that one."

Nova was now standing once again, giving a big nod. "We're all set," she stated, a light yet determined look on her features.

Duncan was hopping around once again now, chanting, "Let's go!"

Minzo/Rosuto

Minzo pranced around. "Yeah we're ready too!" He exclaimed.

"So you...What is your name anyways? Did we already introduce ourselves? I'm Rosuto, and my brother is Minzo. Anyways, so you're on our team?" Asked Rosuto, cocking his head.

Cooper, Nova, Duncan, Jersey, others

Cooper looked at Rosuto, his eyes appearing quite warm and intelligent. Just then, they seemed to contain a spark that briefly lit them up, then died away at the mention of names. He had forgotten all about that!
"Oh, well I'm Cooper," he began, then turning to the others, "and that's Bree, Austin, and Jersey," he said, pointing his nose in each direction as he spoke off the names in the first group, "and there's Duncan, Sierra, and Nova over there." he finished, drawing in a deep breath. So many names! But there was still one who wasn't here.
"There's also Riley, you could find him very much of the liking sort, but he's off scouting for humans." he stated, giving a nod to the other groups before turning completely back to the coyotes. "Yes, I soppose I'll be on your team. Ready when you are,"

At the nod, Nova turned to her little bunch, and gave a little bark. "Now let's go, off to find that coyote!" she stated, her voice lifting and louder than she had been before. After all, she'de need to get over Duncan before anyone else would hear her.
Of course, the merle was jumping around like before, still chanting. His words had changed, though, "Yes yes yes! Now let's go!" the now hyper and excited canine sang, his banner wagging along behind him as he followed off after Nova and Sierra, as the team headed off to search. They were aimed toward the canyon.

Jersey's dark cinnamon brown eyes narrowed as he stood up. He decided that he would lead this team in their search. "Come on," he stated, giving a small yawn, yet the look of sheer determination was in his eyes. Gaining a light grin, he turned and stalked off in the direction of the Croals, trailed by his two teammates.

Minzo/Rosuto

"Where to, guys?" Asked Minzo, looking around.

Rosuto put his long snout in the air. "I got nothin'." Replied Rosuto. "But she is our sister, and, no offense, but we know her better so I'm afraid we should choose where our party searches." He paused and looked around. "She's always been a loner when we knew her in the summertime, but this is the wintertime. Let's go to the pack lands." He bounded off, followed by Minzo.

Cooper

Cooper listened intently to them, his keen senses working away, even now. He put his own nose in the air, catching the wind, but smelled nothing of coyote blood at all. Giving a small nod, and then a shrug, he stood and followed after the two quickly, not wanting to fall behind.
