Luna

The alpha sauntered into the prairie, keeping her senses alert. Her pack had taken down a sheep, but it was only enough to stave off hunger for now. And they still needed to feed Aquila and Blizzard, as well as store food in the caches.

Nike and Soraya

The twosome fallow behind Luna. Soraya scented the wind for prey..

Nike, larger than his twin sister stood next to her, as well, scenting for prey..

Shika

She enters but when she walked and sat by the others in the tall grass she was barley visible if at all. She waits for them to scent prey. She sniffs the air though anyway.

*Mice & Lemming*

High-pitched squeaks are easily heard by Shika. They come from somewhere very nearby... if she searches, she will find a nest of eleven baby lemming! Several other lemmings and mice are running about through tunnels under the snow. It would be harder for Shika to reach these rodents, but she could easily get the nest. The wolves can more easily catch the adult rodents under the snow.

Soraya and Nike

Nike and Sorayas' ears stick up at the sound, "listen" Soraya whispered..

Shika

She heard it instantly because her ears were sensitive especially to high-pitched squeaks from rodents. She ran off towards the nest and sniffed around and when she saw the baby lemming she prowled close and lunged at one and grabbed its neck hoping to kill it and then she tried to do it with as many others as she could get.

Nike and Soraya

The twosome ran with Skika, trying to grab the adults' necks, hopefully snapping them in there jaws...

*Rodents*

The young lemming were still too young to escape from their predators. Shika was able to catch all the babies she went after. They would provide her with a good meal, but it would take many adults to satisfy the wolves. Still, when times were lean, mice and lemmings could easily make up the majority of a wolf's diet.

Soraya soon caught an adult, and killed it between her jaws.

Nike ended up catching a mouse instead, and got it by the tail. But the little rodent slipped from his jaws and began to run across the snow, trying to find a burrow in the thick snow where it could hide.

Soraya felt the rodent go limp in her jaws, dropping it on the ground she ran after another, she would get it after they finished hunting..

Nike was frustrated when the mouse got away, her ran after it, determined to catch the rodent...

Luna

She tilted her ears to the ground, picking up the high-pitched squeaks of the rodents. When she thought she heard one close, she pounced and tried to break through the snow to pin it with her paws. A slight grin was spread over her mug. Hunting large prey was fun, but this made her feel sort of like a pup again.

*Rodents*

A lemming hurried through a tunnel just beneath Soraya. The high-pitched squeaks would make it easy for the wolf to locate the rodent.

The mouse scrambled frantically over the snow, but was snatched up by Nike just before he dove into the burrow.

A mouse was pinned beneath Luna's paws when she pounced down on it.

Nike and Soraya

Soraya heard the lemming, she dug up the tunnel, trying to locate it..

Nike killed the mouse and tried to find more lemming and mice...

Shika

She finds a perfect branch with many smaller branches and puts all 11 baby lemming on it and drags it out. She'd bring them back for Aquila.

*Rodents*

As they continued to hunt, Nike was able to catch one more lemming and two more mice. Soraya catches four mice. Luna catches three lemming. And if Shika hunts still, she will catch three lemming and two mice. After then, the rest of the rodents around would have scattered.

Proud with what he caught, Nike carried his kills back to the others.

Soraya picked up her kills and went with Nike...

Shika

She continues to hunt once more and catches more food. She brings the two mice and three adult lemming she caught and places them on the stick with the 11 dead baby lemming. She smiles happily.

Luna

"Good hunting, although not the type I expected." Luna stated, and looked around at the little rodents her pack had caught. She turns her gaze to Shika for a moment, "Would you like me to drag them back for you?"

Shika

She nods thankfully. "Yes please." She answers. She had caught allot of them but it had been easy for her since it was natural for cats to get small prey. She licks her fur straightening it out as she waits.

Nike and Soraya

Nike and Soraya grab there kills, ready to go.

Luna

Knowing she had hid some of the mountain sheep's meat at Croal Mountains, Luna devours the few rodents she caught. She took the end of the branch in her jaws and lifted it up. Then she headed for their pack lands.

Nike and Soraya

Nike and Soraya fallowed after her, carrying there kills, they wouldn't eat the lemming and mice, they would let the other pack members have them because they had already eaten at Croal Mountains..

Shika

She followed gleefully.
