Spirit

The ghostly white wolfess was new to the valley-- all too new, actually. She had no clue where anything was, and, as one may suggest, she was lost. She didn't even know if she was where she was. When she planned on leaving her original home, away from parents and siblings, she never dreamed of finding a place so peaceful. Little did she know, that wasn't the case in some other locations throughout the lands.

Spirit's eerie ghost-white pelt seemed to glow as she moved along; that was only one of her unique features. WHile everyone else had a pelt of yellowish white, or some kind of white with black in it, Spirit was all pure and powdery in her color. She looked like some mythical creature from another time. But then there were her eyes; a calm baby blue, standing out against the white backdrop of fur, seeming to glow as well. Everything about her had that ghostly effect. No wonder she had been named "Spirit." It suited her perfectly.

Soon, her slender limbs brought her beautiful frame to a halt at the edge of the tall grass, as she studdied it with her eerie eyes. Although she may get the thoughts of being some ghost, one may actually call her something like "beautiful," which is what she technically is. And she wasn't evil; she was far from being that. She was kind hearted-- the type of wolf that the valley needed most.
Deciding to not go in, she found a shady tree by the edge, within the outskirts of the forest, and curled up beneath it, against the lower portion of the trunk. Life was good, but it would be even better if she could make a friend or two around here before going about exploring again. And this was pretty much her resting point, since she had been moving for quite a while now-- she had been going since sometime in the morning till this time in the late afternoon. And although the sun was lightly shining and the breezes were cool, she was still tired, and a tiny droplet of sweat dripped off of her maw. The first one in a while, but she didn't want to get all sweaty and make herself uncomfortable. No; this fae knew when to stop and take a break. Resting her elegant dial down on her forelegs, she sighed. Slowly but surely, her eyelids began to drop down over her eyes, signaling fast oncoming sleepiness.

Kanan

The wolf shared one thing in common with this unusual fae; icy-blue orbs that he had inherited from his late mother, Vatoni. His pelt was a lush white, but his face bore a light gray mask that extended down across half his back and shoulders. Almost cape-like in appearance.

He was no alpha-material like his late sister Umay, nor calm like his late brother Kouji. Kanan was most like Kiolana- though she too was dead. Now it was only his father, Keilo, and him. And Keilo was getting old now.

Traveling southwest from his packlands up towards the corner of the Ochotona's, Kanan made his way through the prairie. His light coat did well to blend with the lighter hues of dying grass, and were very subtle compared the the blazing red foliage of the oaks and staghorn trees that dotted around the area. Still, Kanan knew that the time of hunters would soon be here, and so he avoided the most open areas and stuck to traversing the timberline. And that's how he came upon the slumbering form of Spirit.

Inquisitive blue orbs studdied the strikingly white fur. He would be even more surprised to see those eyes when she opened them, which seemed even more unique than his own. "Um... hello?" He woofed out, head cocked to the side in an almost puppyish manner.

Spirit

Sprit had continued to lay there for a while longer, before she had finally taken to some decent sleep. After all, she was in a new land with strangers, and no one at all that she could fall back on. Yet even if she was asleep, that didn't mean she wasn't wary.

She awoke with a start, flinging her dial and tail up wildly. Her eyes popped open as they immedietly met the intruder's own, and low, cautious growls lightly emitted from her throat. "Who... Are you?" she asked, swaying her banner slowly from side to side. It always helped to be cautious these days, and she indeed was. Her muscles were tense, and her viens were pumped up with adrenaline. All she needed now was for someone to come after her and her legs would send her into a giant spring, right into the tall grass. But for now, she kept her eerie blue eyes locked on him, observing his own. Although colors weren't on her mind, she hoped direly that the color of hers would give him a chilly feeling, as they often did.

Kanan

Tall ears folded back at the sound of her subtle growls, "Sorry, I-I didn't mean to startle you!" Kanan stammered, for he was generally use to less hostile responses. Then again, he mostly stayed in his packlands, so those he encountered were of course nice with him. "Kanan." He piped up after a brief pause, hanging his tail in friendly pose as he studied her eyes. He was attracted by the color, but there was that certain look to him that sent a shiver down his spine.

Spirit

Spirit's eyes were hard as they took in the other's form, locking the appearence and scent in her mind. Her mind was one of the best; she could remember anything for a long time.

As she stood there, her mind was finally registering everything pretty well, and her limbs were slowly becoming less tense. "I'm sure..." she whispered to herself, shaking her dial madly. But then she looked back at him, and took a rather shakey seat on her haunches next to the tree. "I'm Spirit. What brings you to disturb my long-awaited nap? I have been traveling for days and nights to reach this place, and could use value the important rest." she stated lightly, yet there was a bit of seriousness in her light and calm tone. Even her voice could be heard in a heavenly manner. While she wasn't evil at all, she was 100% on the light end of the stick.

Kanan

Slowly, his light gray ears worked forward again in a pose of interest. Taking her cue, he sat down as well so that it would be clear that he meant no ill intent upon her. "Sorry 'bout that." Kanan repeated, a faint sheepish grin on his muzzle as he tried to shift the conversation to a more positive note. "So you're new here, then? Where did you come from?" He was trying to read her now, not sure if she wanted some stranger to sit down and talk with her when she wanted to catch up on sleep.

Spirit

Spirit's eyes continued to watch the other wolf, curiousity dieing as she began to feel the same sleepiness she had been experiencing a while ago. "Um, new yes. I came from somewhere in the southern areas... Or western? Maybe both..." she stated, but began trailing off, soon getting lost in thought. "Yah, maybe southwest. You live around here?" she asked him, narrowing a baby blue eye slightly, yet it would probably be barely noticable unless Kanan was actually paying attention to her eyes. Her auds were pricked, and her form sat daintily, though she wasn't always like this. Hah, Spirit wasn't all girly. There were many things that others didn't know about her.

Kanan

"I was born here- never left the Valley." Kanan stated proudly, giving his tail a wag. Suddenly his blue eyes widened and his body tensed. Tall ears flinched at a distant sound that grew quickly louder. "Humans!" He said, his voice constricted with learned fear. It was a plane that he could hear, flying low over the Valley. Experience taught him that high-flying planes were no threat, but low-flying ones were terribly dangerous.

The wolfess shook her eerie white pelt and made the hairs look fluffier, giving her a slightly bigger appearance. Of course, it wasn't much overall, but it felt good to rid yourself of any dirt and itches that you may have. Her fur was as clean as ever.

Her auds pricked once more as the brute began to speak. Ah, so he has been living here for his entire life... she thought silently, mouthing his words slightly after he spoke them. It was usually a good thing when you were born somewhere and lived there all your life, since you obviously knew where everything was, and most of the animals in it, and how it was all like. Now, according to Spirit, she didn't know anything around here, but this area, and this wolf. Maybe he can help me find my way around here? she then asked herself, tilting her head a bit to the side. Then she turned her head straight and began to say something, "Tha--" she cut herself off quickly as he said the word humans, with an obvious tone of fear. "Wha?" she then asked, tilting her head once again. She herself could hear the planes, but didn't think much of it. Humans had never really given her any harm either way, so she never bothered any of them, and actually wasn't too frightened of them anyway. Maybe the whole reason was because she lived most of her life on an animal reserve where humans were to pretty much "stay off" and hunting was strictly prohibited. Bit either way, Spirit was a bit bewildered. Maybe the humans around here are different, but unknown to her, they actually truely are, but probably only because of rules that didn't exist around these parts. She remained quiet, watching him. She had to admit, his fear was beginning to make her a bit nervous, but overall, she stayed calm.

Kanan

He hunkered down just slightly, bringing his light frame more into the tall grasses around him. Blue eyes scanned the sky with great earnest, but to no avail. The plane was not that close to them, and it didn't sound to be coming their way. Still, Kanan couldn't forget the deaths of his packmates because of the two-leggers, and so he couldn't shake the apprehension that built up inside him.

"They are wolf-killers, without reason!" He whispered, as if a human might be lurking near enough to hear his hushed voice. "We need to go somewhere else, somewhere safer..." Kanan looked to the timberline and took a few urgent steps towards it before pausing and looking back to Spirit, seeing if she would heed his warning and follow.

SPiRiT

The fae watched as he hunkered down a bit, in the tall grasses. She went to tilting her head again, but shook it instead. Noticing his blue eyes searching the sky, her's were drawn to do the same thing. Turning her own up to the open skies, she glanced around, keeping a sharp lookout for any of those plane things. Now wasn't the time to run into those things, she expected.

"Wolf killers?" she asked suddenly, auds swiveling. She opened her mouth to say more, but stayed quiet instead. She hunched down now, inching closer to the high colorful grasses. Then, as Kanan took some steps to the timberline, she immedietly followed after him, actually feeling safer with someone with her, especially someone she fairly new. "Where are we headed?" she whispered, coming up by him, looking around urgently. This wasn't the time for questions.
