Prancer

A horse neighs and rears she looks around for a herd.

Solange

The white tailed deer buck, ruddy-tan in color with strangely deformed antlers, entered the prairie. His neck was bleeding, but the wound wasn't that bad; so long as it didn't attract any unwanted attention.

Solange herd the neigh and began to follow it, thinking he was heading towards Free Spirit's herd. He approached Prancer and dipped his head slightly, "Hey." He greeted simply, and waited for his horse friend to arrive.

Prancer

She looked at him I have no herd bye.

Solange

"Uh-well, ok." He stammered, watching her leave. Did I say something wrong? he wondered, but shrugged off the thought. Must be the blood. That would surely make most equines just a bit nervous. With a sigh, Solange dipped his head down and began to graze absent mindedly at the grass and little trees sprouting in their first year.

black fury

he smelled the blood and went for the attack he lunged out and grabbed his neck bitting hard to bring him down.

Black Fury

he lets go and goes some where else

Solange

Solange snorts once again in warning, seeing the wolf lunge for him. He pulls back and thrashes his antlers at the wolf, but Black Fury had taken off just as soon as he came.

Solange flagged his tail in the air again, showing off the striking white fur underneath the tail and on his rump; a visual warning to all other deer and animals nearby. Now he stands wary, hoping that Free Spirit would come soon. Solange felt extremely vulnerable with his wounded neck, twice attacked now.

Black Fury and Stalker plus light

they run off.

Solange

He sprung back from the wolves, dashing across the ground when they tried to get at his neck. He wasn't going to be fooled for the third time! He gave a loud bark, hoping desperately that his herd would hear him. He needed Nhosh and Huyen's protection right now.

pack

Black Fury Lunged out and bit his neck. and light and Stalker took the sames poistions but this time another wolf was their she bit his leg soon they let go and ran off.

Free Spirit

Free Spirit finally came flying over the ground to his deer friend after hearing the bark. He had gotten a little lost, despite the openess of this land. His large horse body moved closer to Solange, wondering what had happened. But then he realized that he must have been attacked once again! Free Spirit snorted at all of the blood. He himself had been shot by the humans before, but this was a case where dangerous preditors were lurking. His hind left leg was all dry and was healing well now. It had been months since that dreadful day. He felt stronger and it no longer pained him to balance on the wounded leg.
With his sides heaving, Free Spirit halted near his friend. His nostrils flared with quick effort to get here. He hadn't seen the wolves, but he was certain there were still some around. But taking on a horse was one bad idea, to say the least. "What happened?" he exclaimed under his harsh breathing. He wanted to know what was going on.

Solange

Solange turned to Free Spirit, trying to look as calm as possible. But deseperate, wild fear shone clearly in his large, dark eyes. Dipping his head slightly, defensively, he came nearer to his horse friend. And after a moment his voice came back to him as the shocking fear ebbed away. "Wolves." He managed to reply, looking around suspisciously. His head came up again and he regained his composure and put his tail down. "A pack attacked me! They left, then came back and tried it again." Solange went on, looking around once again.

Free Spirit

"Ahah! It figures... Wolves are troublesome. Wherever you go they always seem to follow or manage to be there anyway." He looked around and pounded a hoof on the ground. "If only I could get my hooves on one of those wild canines I would teach them a lesson! Not to mention those humans need something taught to them as well." He looked around the Prairie, sure he could smell the Clan. At least there were no humans. There sticks of shooting fire were dangerous.

Solange

Solange nodded, relaxing a bit as he listened to Free Spirit talk. "Well, I taught one of them a lesson anyway. Nhosh has always been talking about taking a stand against our enemies." The buck snorted lightly, shaking his great anterled head, "I'll admit, he's far braver than me, but sometimes I think he forgets he's just a deer."

Solange gazed out over the horizon, fancying he saw something for a moment. Shrugging it off, he turned to Free Spirit. "Do you mind if I stick around here for a while? At least until my herd shows up again?" He wasn't going to admit it, but his wounded throat left him very nervous about more attacks, and he didn't want to be left on his own for a while.
