Snowy Owl & *Pups*

By now, the wolfess was heavy with three new lives. She had searched long and hard for the perfect den, and eventually decided on a narrow lot in between two small restarauants. It was cluttered with abandoned junk, including a trashed car. With one of the doors broken off, Snowy Owl found the cushy interior perfect bedding. After tearing it up a good deal, the mother bedded in the extended back end of the vehicle, which was plenty big enough for her and the new pups.

It was midnight before the three lives had all come into the world. Snowy Owl fell into a light sleep as they fed hungrily. Three little males.

Ankh & Desmon

Ankh knew it was her time, and so he stayed near by did not go too close to the car. He still limped, but at least his shoulder was healing and adjusting to its new position, making up for being wrenched out of place.

Long after stars twinkled faintly in the human-polluted sky, Ankh returned to the car. He reared up and peeked his lean ebony muzzled through the pane of a broken out window. His tail wagged automatically as he saw three black little shapes nestled next to his mate. He watched all three with pride and joy shining in his dark eyes. There was one pup who caught his attention. Desmon. That's your name.. The father thought to himself before turning away to find food for Snowy Owl.

Niavo

Alpha of the pack, little as it was, made his way to the car. He had little chance to properly meet Snowy Owl, for he kept his distant out of respect. Now it was time to see the new additions to the pack though. Creeping forward like a shadow in the darkness, the hybrid reared up as Ankh had and peered in at the tiny black masses snuggled against the striking white of Snowy Owl's pelt. Finding the wolfess asleep, Niavo resigned to sleep underneath the car, keeping a watchout for danger.

Snowy Owl, Hatch, & Honthale

After a few hours passed, Snowy Owl woke up, flicking open her orbs to greet the darkness of early morning. Carefully stretching, she stood up and looked down at her three young ones and began to clean them.

Hatch and Honthale squirmed in protest at being woken up, then relented to the bath.

Finished with cleaning, Snowy Owl stood and stretched again, then sniffed at the air. "Niavo?" She could smell him nearby.

Niavo

He scrambled up from under the car, having dozed off a bit. Peering up into the back of the car, he grinned at the little squirming bodies, "Congrats, Owl. Have they any names yet?" Niavo sniffed carefully at the air, getting their scents without getting too close to them. He didn't want to upset the mother, afterall. "I think Ankh went out hunting for you. I figured I'd wait around until he returned, to keep guard."

Snowy Owl, Hatch, & Honthale

She smiled at seeing her alpha, then nudged the three little bodies that lay near her, "This is Hatch," her muzzled gently touched the second largest pup before moving on to the largest, "And this is Honthale." Owl looked to the smallest pup, "And this little one will be named by his father."

Ankh & Desmon

Ankh returned as the two spoke, carring a heron with him. It wasn't a big meal, but it would certainly be enough for Snowy Owl, and maybe a bite for him and Niavo.

The dark hybrid padded towards the car and set the prize inside for his mate. With a leap that made him wince with pain, Ankh jumped into the vehicle and licked Owl on the cheek, "They're beautiful. Hatch and Honthale..." He smiled down at the little figures, his tail wagging again. "Desmon." He whispered, nudging the third pup.

Desmon flinched at the touch, squeaking and bobbing his head. He couldn't see yet, but he could feel and smell, and hear a little. Snowy Owl, Ankh, and Niavo; three giants with loud but caring voices. Then the smell of blood and bird came to him, making him feel hungry. But he didn't amble off blindly after the smell of blood; he returned to the warmth of his mother for some milk.

Snowy Owl, Hatch, & Honthale

Snowy Owl licked her mate in return, "Thanks." She set in eagerly to the meal, devouring most of it before leaving a leg and wing, and a scattering of feathers. Licking the blood from her muzzle, Owl stood once more and shook her pelt. "That was good; I've never had that type of bird before. Sorry I didn't leave more for you..." She grinned a bit.

Hatch and Honthale were also curious in the scent of blood, but turned to their mother for their nurishment.

Cavan

Cavan, with his gruetesquely scarred face, lumbered towards the group, surveying the group with his single, glistening eye. "Ah, congrats, Owl." He spoke, catching scent and then sight of the new little ones. With a hefty sigh, he laid down nearby for a rest.
