Aaka
Aaka moved silently into the stores, Aila riding upon her back. Aaka had adopted the baby to raise as her own along with her pups. Legosa she knew was still getting used to the fact that they now had a human living with them but she knew to that he would get over it. Aaka sat down letting the baby slide off of her back and began to rummage through to try and find some clothes.
Sang moved silently after her mother as her eyes widened taking in all of these new sights and sounds. This was the way of the big humans huh? So loud. So....COOL! She yipped and her mother gave her a reproaching look but Aaka made no move to silence her daughter. This was all new for the pups.
Faute followed his white mother and black sister Lost tagging along next to him. He didnt really mind his sister but at times the wolfess could get annoying. "Whats going on? What are we doing? Do you know whats going on Faute? Do ya? Huh?" Faute growled suddenly and snapped at his sister "I dont know whats going on but will you shut up?!" Aaka chuckled softly at her sons frustrated out burst as she tried to find clothes for Aila.
Sweetclover, Atticus, Laporta, & Phelan
Sweetclover inched closer to Aila, sticking her muzzle out to touch noses with the child. "You must be cold with no fur."
Phelan moved closer to Sweetclover, totally entrhawled by the little human, "Hi, I'm Phelan. So... um..." He trailed off, unsure of what to say.
Laporta stood next to Lost, glancing from Aila to her sister, "This place is so... amazing! I've never seen rocks like this before! And all the sounds and scents!"
Atticus was interested beyond words as he took in the new world, his senses quite on overdrive. One ear flipped towards Aila and his siblings, wondering what the human would say. Little did he know that Aila couldn't understand a word they were saying.
Aila
Staying close to Aaka, Aila began to suck her thumb like most small humans would do. She watched the wolf pups with wonder and smiled when sweetclover touched her nose with her nose. She was completly at ease around these creatures unlike some humans would be, infact she hardly knew she was human since she was living with them. She gave another small play growl she ussually heard among the siblings but still kept one hand on Aaka.
Aaka
Aaka chuckled softly at her human daughters growl. She suddenly touched cloth with her nose and with a yelp of happiness Aaka grabbed it and dragged it out revealing an old and worn hooded sweatshirt. It looked like a band had once covered the front for red and grey could be seen and it was big with White letters that were well faded. There was a tear in the sleeves but Aaka didnt mind. IT was hopefully well enough for Aila. Handing it to the child she tried to show the young girl how to put it on. "Aila the big part is where you go through. The small part at the top with the funny little thing is where your head goes and your paws go through the long things at the side." She hoped her daughter would understand well enough but Aaka tried to show her. The wolfess looked odd as she tried to show placing paws into the sides.
Sweetclover, Atticus, Laporta, & Phelan
They all waited expectantly for Alia to respond, but had to make do with the little growl she gave. Laporta nudged Phelan, "I think she's as shy as you, brother." Sweetclover gigled at the light-hearted joking before looking back to the human, "It's alright, you don't have to be shy around us."
Phelan cocked his head, "Maybe... maybe she doesn't know how to speak?"
"Not know how to speak? How could not know how to speak? It's so easy!" Sweetclover replied, but realized that she hadn't heard an actual word from Alia the entire time. Frowning, the youngster looked to her mother, "Can Alia speak? Or is she just shy?"
Aaka
She smiled at her wolf children and said softly "Aila does not know the language of wolves for she is a two legged. They are also known as humans. Most humans hunt and kill us and are much larger then Aila." She was fond of all her children and inside she prayed that Legosa loved them all to and that he was not afraid of being a father.
Aila/Humans
Aila watched Aakas actions with interest but she hardly understood what the wolfess was saying. Finally, curiosity overtook the four year old and she grabs the clothing and shoved it over her head but it took a few tries for her to finally get it on right, sometimes her head woudl go through an arm hole instead of the hole where her head was supposed to go. She couldn't help but giggle.
A couple of humans weren't far from where Aila and the wolves were and heard growling and yipping along with the sound of a child giggling. Fear overtook one of them and she ran around the corner. She saw Aila surrounded by the wolves and screamed running at them to scatter them off away from Aila thinking they were attacking her. The man that had been with her ran after her and when he saw the wolves, he was at first worried for his wife but when he saw the child, he was also scared for her. He grabbed something off the ground. It happened to be a brick from the rubble. He held it like it weighed less then a shoe and got ready to chuck it at one of the wolves.
Sweetclover, Atticus, Laporta, & Phelan
Sweetclover frowned a bit in thought, "Really? That's odd!" The youngster watched and laughed as Aila fumbled with the clothing. She wasn't sure what to make of her new 'sister', but Sweetclover definitely liked her, even if she couldn't speak her language.
Phelan scooted closer to his mother, frightened of what she said about humans. "Why would they do that..." Then he heard the tell-tale sound of humans walking, and turned around in time to spot them. He yelped in fear when the lady screamed, and scrambled back, running into Aila on accident.
Laporta's fur bristled, but her ears were flat back against her skull in fear. "Mom, what are they doing?"
Atticus snarled savagely at the humans, seeing him raise a brick up. He had never seen such an action before, but he knew instinctively that it was threatening. The man's posture was threatening as well. "Back off, two-legger!" He said, pointing his ears forward and putting himself in front of Sweetclover and the others.
Sweetclover growled quietly and stared at the human, torn between wanting to run and needing to fight. "It's very tall... should we leave?" She tried to sound brave, but her voice was shaking.
Aila/Humans
Aila was quite unstable right now in the clothing since she had just gotten it on, but it was way to big of a size for her. But it was warm. She watched the humans with wolf like intrest as they bounded around the corner. She picked up on the wolves fear and stood transfixed also in fear staring at the man with the brick. She couldn't help but let out a small scream when Phelan accidenly ran into her and knocked her onto the ground. She covered her face with her arms frightened of the other humans. HAving been with the wolves, she to had never seen such a creature and had yet to look at herself in reflective water.
The lady continued to run at the wolves despite the protest of her husband. She was running half in fear and half on adreniline. She was young, early twenties to her early thirties. It was hard to tell. She kept up her screaming and soon her husband ran after her still holding the brick but he quickly chucked it at one of the wolves, he didn't pay attention to which one he threw it at. He was more focused on his wife and the child.
Aaka
A snarl rose from Aaka and she growled "Take Aila and run! Go children now!" As the brick was thrown Aaka watched it carefully and moved in front of it as the brick was aimed for one of her pups. As the brick struck her the female let out a soft yelp but then fury drove her into action. The white alphess leaped for one of the humans her anger making her do so. No one threw something at her pups and got away with it. "Go NOW!" She shouted at her children. She was aiming for the womans throat hoping to shut her up for she was hurting the wolfess's ears.
Tahmores*Elder Brother
Tahmores was wandering yet again, still trying to get used to living among humans. But when his companion's ears perked, he stopped to listen. Hearing the growling of wolves and the shouting of men, he turned quickly, hoping to stop it.
Elder Brother raced alongside his boy, determined to keep him from getting hurt. As Tahmores sighted the fighting, he put himself quickly between the woman and Aaka, bringing up his walking stick and holding it horizontally to knock her back, but not to hurt her. Speaking calmly to the woman without looking at her, he said, Stop screaming! You are frightening them, which will only make it worse! His eyes remained on Aaka, but his mouth remained closed as he held his head high.
Elder Brother came up beside his boy, reading the defensive lines in Aaka's stiff body, trying to calm everyone before something drastic happened. Easy there, my lady. They mean no real harm, I am sure. I think that they believe you mean to harm that little two-leg kit. My boy will try to talk them out of hurting anyone if you will let him. But it would help if you managed to look less threatening. His voice was soft and persuasive, and though he met her eyes their was no challenge in them. He was simply trying to convince her not to do something she might regret.
Sweetclover, Atticus, Laporta, & Phelan
Sweetclover went for Aila instantly, tugging at the new clothing that the child was wearing, "Come on, we gotta get out of here!" She urged.
Laporta joined in next, but she nudged the child from behind, trying to move her forward and make for the Silver Glades terra.
Phelan was frozen in place, staring bleakly at the humans and totally unsure of what to do.
Atticus stood defiantly beside his mother at first, wanting to prove himself worthy and strong. But, he noticed that Phelan was standing there like a fool. Whirling around on his brother, Atticus nipped his muzzle, "Phelan, help your sisters! Get out of here"
Phelan was brought back to reality by the light nips and scrambled back towards Aila. He too tried to tug the child away.
Atticus returned to his mother's side, growling quietly as he looked from Elder Brother to the humans, "They started it! We were doing anything wrong!"
Aaka
Aaka snarled as she was knocked from her original target but she didnt leap again. HEr side pained her but she ignored it as best she could. Their were gashes all across her from a recent fight and two of her ribs had already been broken. She snarled but stood protectivly in front of her children her teeth bared ivories flashing in the dull light. She could vaguely here Elder Brother speaking to her but she ignored him. Less threatening? Bah how was she to do that when the man had just thrown a brick at her?! "Atticus go!" She snapped at her son. The white alphess was not one to be reckoned with that was for sure.
Sang stared for a moment at the humans then leaped for Aila and the others. "LEts go baby come on Lets go!" She tugged on Aila's shirt sleeve trying to hurry her even faster.
Lost stared at the humans then raced towards Phelan. He was like her only she was not shy and timid but loud and annoying. But this...This scared her.
Faute snarled and stood next to his brother. Although he had beaten the larger male he knew that two was better then one in this case. As his mother snapped at Atticus he knew that he would have to go to but he stood until his brother would leave.
Aila/Humans
Aila was on her feet, once again quite clumsily. She still couldn't move as fast as the wolves could but her wide blue eyes looked towards the newer arivals with interest. Another human was protecting them? Interesting. She flashed a smile, a child smile it was for she was still four years old and took up a fast walk nearly falling again from tripping over the oversized sweatshirt but she kept her balance and continued.
The female stopped shouting but she wasn't about to let the wolves take the human.
"They'll hurt her, shes only a child."
She shoved past the boy and his wolf hurrying after the wolves. She came up from behind Aila and swooped her up into her arms instantly cooing like Aila was her child. Aila soon began to let out a wail of fear strugging against the humans grasp. Sure she was human, but she didn't know she was.
The male glared at Tahmores and picked up the brick again just incase they attacked his wife and stood by her side whispering something to her. He was telling her to get out of here just incase the wolves went beserk or something.
Tahmores*Elder Brother
Tahmores sighed quietly and moved gently to the woman, saying, I was raised by wolves, my friend. And I am not in such bad shape. Please believe me when I say that taking their child like this will anger them. She is part of their pack. And she does not know she is human. This is very frightening for her. Please. Let me see her? I will protect her if they mean to harm her, but I do not believe they will. If the wolves actually hurt her, you have my permission to attack and do as you like. But give them a chance. And he turned to the man. Please help me, sir. I know for certain that if she tries to take the child, they will attack. You must realize that. See the hackles? And the head lowered? And he pointed out the raised fur on Aaka's back. That is the position of a mother defending her cubs. That child is her cub. They believe that she is theirs. If you take her, they will attack. Please help me. You can make her listen. I want no harm to anyone, and especially the child. Please.
Elder Brother continued to speak softly. Easy there, pad-sister. Tahmores will take care of it.
Elder Brother eyed Aaka carefully, saying, Give him a minute. He will talk to them. Please, do not hurt anyone. Tahmores will make them give her back.
Aila/Humans
Aila couldnt take it anymore. She stopped wailing and bit the womans hand. She yelped in pain and quickly handed the child to Tahmores. She glared and growled at the human before taking a tight hold on Tahmores' shirt. She trusted him, he came here with a wolf so he seemed okay to cling to. She continued her constant growling but kept her small body close to Tahmores.
The man wouldn't let go of the brick. He wasn't to sure of Tahmores' words. He wasn't exactly a canine lover, to put it in words. He stepped in front of his wife again.
"How can you be to sure. They could have kidnapped the poor child."
The wife was speaking again. It seemed, the man wouldn't be talking anytime soon. He might be mute, or just one of those silent humans that doesn't like to talk unless it is absolutly needed.
Tahmores*Elder Brother*Dyani
Tahmores took the child, letting out a low whine to reassure her. Finally, smiling gently without teeth at the woman, he spoke. Friend, would a child growl like this and bite you if she were raised by humans? Would she not scream and cry when the wolves tried to drag her away if she had been raised by a human? My mother's tribe died of plague when I was just a kit myself. Brother, here, and his pack, raised me. I did not know other humans until I was twelve seasons. I bit the first human who tried to take me from them. I know that it is hard to believe, but it is obvious to me that this child's human parents are dead. His tone was kind, but firm, and he slowly turned about to sit gently, hoping to set the wolves at ease. Elder Brother settled beside him and thrust his nose into the child's fingers, smiling hugely. She WAS kind of cute.
Tahmores took to whining at the child, a little playful growl emitted every now and then as he tugged gently at her feet and shirt, just playing. He looked up again, smiling sadly. My friends, I never had a human family. I still do not. It is harder to grow up as a wolf, but it is a good way to live.
But as he spoke, a dark headed girl came up behind the man and woman, a scoffing laugh escaping her lips. Oh sure!
Aila/Humans
The humans didn't seemed interested or convinced in Tahmores' sotry. They were either, to stupid to believe or just to thick headed.
"Then how did you learn to speak?"
Aila whined back at Tahmores and attacked his hands playfully. Looking at Elder Brother she smiled and placed a hand on the right side of his face right under the eye feeling his fur. She seemed to have an obsession with the texture of wolf fur, she loved it. Not to mention it was warm and made for a good pillow during naps. She completly ignored everything else now staring straight into Elder Brothers eyes, though she knew most wolves didn't like it and looked away or got agressive. She soon stopped and stood up unsteadly heading around to his backside and began to attack his tail with interest. She really didn't care about anything else right now except for getting his tail.
Tahmores*Elder Brother*Dyani
Dyani gave a satisfied look at Tahmores, saying, Yeah, genius, explain that.
Tahmores sighed and continued to speak gently, sensibly, keeping a keen eye on the child. My father came to get me when I was twelve. He brought me to a city and sent me to school. I hated it there. That is why I am back here again. I know you do not believe me. It is hard, I know. Please, do try.
Brother laughed silently and twitched his tail, quite enjoying the game. He continued to eye Aaka, speaking softly. There, pad-sister. You can come see your little kit. Tahmores will make sure they do not harm you or her. And he turned proud eyes back to Tahmores, smiling a little wistfully before turning back to her. Believe it or not, the boy was this small once. Not recently though. But you're lucky. Yours already has teeth. Believe you me, when they teethe... the noise! You wouldn't believe the fuss they make! And he smiled softly, turning around to lick a swipe of dirt off of the child's face. Dusty kid, isn’t she?
Dyani shook her head, obviously not believing. What a wad of absolute nonsense. You people aren't going to listen to this maniac, are you? I mean, that's a little girl. She's what, three, four? They'll tear her apart! And her dark waist-length hair shook about her as she glared.
Aila/Humans
Aila made a final lunge for Brothers tail but missed and growled in frustration. She clamed down though when the wolf licked dirt off her cheek. Yeah, sure she was dirty but hey. who wouldn't be if they were living with wolves? She felt the anger like waves coming off of Dyani and quickly hid behind Brother. She wasn't liking the other humans around here. They didn't seem like they were nice at all.
The other humans though, they seemed to believe his story and when someone called to them from outside of the alley they quickly left the strange schene they had witnessed.
Aaka
As the other humans left the white alphess's tense body relaxed a touch but she watched the girl through angry orbs. What is it with humans? With a snarl she snapped at both Atticus and Faute. "Home. Now!" Faute backed away from his angry mother then turned and trotted for a home. A short distance away he said "Lets go Atticus." Faute didnt trust his mother when she was angry for her anger could quite possibly get even worse then Legosa's.
Aaka moved forth closer to Dyani and Tahmores. She layed next to her child her body held like the great sphix statues. She was poised to leap, her legs coiled beneath her. Her hackles were still raised but no noise came from the alphess now. Demons seemed to dance in her eyes once more as she stared hard at the woman her fur bristled.
Sweetclover, Atticus, Laporta, & Phelan
Sweetclover and the others had headed for home now.
Atticus remained still, standing stubornly next to his brother, for once feeling a sort of 'comradeship' with him. But when Faute gave in and headed away, Atticus felt frustration well up in him, bringing a louder snarl from his throat and chest. "Mom... I can handle them..." Yet, as he looked up at the fury of his mother, Atticus's resolve broke down. With a grumble sigh, he turned and headed after Faute.
Tahmores*Elder Brother*Dyani
Tahmores spoke softly to Aila, crooning quietly. Easy there, little one. It's alright. He knew she would not understand the words, but the tone would soothe her, he hoped. Keeping that soothing tone in his voice, he turned back to Dyani. Regardless of what you think of wolves, my lady, this child belongs to this pack-sister. If you believe that you can take her from the lady, go ahead. His eyes held a challenge that very strangely offset the melodious, sweet tone of his voice.
Elder Brother wrapped protectively around Aila, growling at Dyani. What was her problem?
Tahmores began to sing softly in his native tongue, a low, lilting tune to soothe the nerves of both the child and the canines.
Elder Brother grumbled quietly. Humans! I love my boy, but the rest of his race puzzle me. I don't understand what she has against us. He remained curled around Aila, eyeing Dyani suspiciously.
Dyani scowled, not liking the whole situation, but her voice was less sharp the next time, seeing that the aggressive tone was scaring Aila. How can you know all these things? You don't expect me to believe that story, honestly? I mean, you got that wolf from a black market store, right? I mean, geeeeez.
Aaka
The mother stood and grabbed Aila's Sweatshirt sleeve and gave it a gentle tug. She didnt want to be here any more but she did not want to leave her pup and abandon the child. Her eyes remained on Dyani shadows of haunting lurkering in her yellow orbs. She had seen to many deaths in the recent past and she didnt want to have to kill the girl but she would. She really would.
Aila
Aila kept a firm hold on Brothers fur until Aaka gave a tug at her sleeve. she looked at her wolf mother and knew what she wanted. She could also see the anger in her eyes, though she wasn't old enough to comprehende it. It was probably time to face Legosa as well andd see what he thought, at least more in depth. Not just a quick look and then she was gone. She began to follow Aaka's tugging letting go of Brothers fur.
Tahmores*Elder Brother*Dyani
Brother nudged Aila as she turned to go, encouraging her to go with her mother, tail wagging just a bit. She was kind of cute. Turning eyes back to Dyani, he curled in front of his boy now, growling softly but making no other moves.
Tahmores still spoke softly. Believe what you like of me, wild dancer. But the child is going with the wolfess.
Dyani made to dodge around to swoop up the child anyway, but Brother was there, blocking her way, bristling still. She made a few more tries at it, but Brother blocked her each time. Cursing creatively, she backed off. Who are you?
Brother spoke softly to Aaka without turning around. Get her out of here. Quickly.
