Kivo

The pit bull, having been recently given food, was feeling a bit better. He hung around the vents of buildings where he could find them to warm his freezing body. He wished longingly for the thick, lush fur of his wolf friends. But at least these building help to cut down the wind. In between pauses for warmth, the white dog sniffed about for any trace of his sisters and brother. Or a friend, perhaps.

Balto

The Wolf / Husky mix slowly krept into the back of the stores. His big gray body knocked down a trashcan, which revealed some tasty food, that was still good. He quickly ate, trying to be fast before a human could find him. Suddenly, a smell came apon him. He sniffed the new scent, and howled. He looked and trotted off. Soon after, he found another dog... or wolf? He was confused. He slowly walked to the animal. "And who are you?" he said.

Kivo

Kivo froze for a moment, wondering whether this stranger would attack or not. But it seemed that wasn't Balto's plan, so Kivo relaxed and waved his tail, "Me? I'm a pit bull." He answered proudly, lifted his pumpkin-like head higher and smiling lightly. "You look like a wolf." the white dog pointed out, "Are you all wolf?"

Balto

Balto slowly sniffed. He then said, "Pit Bull? Never seen one of them" He looked hard at the dogs fur. "I have never seen a white dog before. My mother was completely white, and a pure Wolf. I am not pure Wolf though, for I also have Husky blood, but not as much as Wolf." He sat down, and kept his eye on the dog in front of him. He raised his eyes then, and said, "Are you owned? I am all wild." He wagged his tail around and slapped it at the solid ground.

Kivo

"Never seen a white dog before? Well, come to think of it... I haven't seen too many either. Except this gigantic fellow named Legosa. If you ever see a large white dog, stay out of his way! He's a real killer..." Kivo shuddered at the past encounters he had with the white mongrel. "I actually live out in the wild as well. But when I was just a pup, my siblings and I were owned by humans. A wolf pack saved us at the last moment though, thank goodness. Or we would have ended up at the Pit." The pit bull wagged his lanky tail too, very happy to be talking to someone again. His missed his family terribly, especially his adoptive mother.

Balto

Balto raised his head higher. "I never want to end up at the pit or pound. They are only threats of death really, if you ask me." He then said, in a wondering way, "Have you ever had any other encounters of humans before? I only did, once though." He dearly wished not to talk about it. He still wagged his lively tail and then rested it on the ground.

Kivo

Kivo dipped his head gravely, averting his eyes towards the ground, "Yes, I have... I once got my muzzle caught in these... these steel jaws." He was talking of a leg-hold trap, but didn't know what it was called. "Our alpha's brother got killed trying to defend me, and his mate was badly wounded." The dog shivered at the memory, but went on, "My best friend was knocked out by those thorns once, the ones that make creatures fall into a deep sleep. Our pack saved him by killing the humans and guarding him until he came around." Kivo looked to Balto again with a grim sort of expression, then gave a grin to try and lighten the mood, "But I know all humans aren't bad. Sometimes they give you food. And sometimes they can heal your wounds, like the lady at the Woodland Farm. She saved my alpha's life once."
