Shadow

The doberman pup stood outside a restaurant,her stomach growled,she was so hungrey! She whinnied and yelped in hunger.

*Humans & Rats*

After a few minutes a door swung fiercely open and a short man stood glaring down at the pup. "Get outta here, you filthy mutt!" he yelled and kicked at the pup.

A small rat watched the scene while hiding beside a crumpled box. "Pssst! Pup, come here!" she whispered in a high voice. "I can show you a better restraunt to get food at."

Shadow

The pup wagged her tail when the human came from the door,but quly yelped when he kicked.She ran from the man and over to the rat."Really? Where?"

*Human & Rat*

The man mumbled some ungracious words at the pup before going back inside.

The rat looked up at the pup, twitching her nose as she picked up the canine's scent. "It's not far from here. There is a man who will feed strays like yourself; but, if I show you where this food is, will you save some for me?" she questioned hopefully.

Shadow

Shadow wagged her tail happily."Really? Wow of course I would save you some!"

*Rat*

"Good good! Follow me then." she replied and scurried along edge of the wall. She continued on at a fast pase, although she stopped now and then to make sure all was well with her surroundings. The rat finally stopped at the back of an Italian store, "This is the place. Just bark and stratch at the door."

Shadow

Shadow nodded and yipped at the door and scrachted at it hoping for someone to come out and give her some food.

*Human & Rat*

Just as the rat had said, someone came to the door. It was a young man clad in a cooking hat and white apron. After making a anxious look around to be sure no one saw him, he slipped outside. Speaking in a friendly tone, he crouched down and reached his hand out to pat Shadow's head.

The rat watched intently, although she stayed out of the human's view, "Good good, that's him! I knew he'd be here today. He'll give you food if you are nice to him." she pointed out.

Shadow

Shadow wagged her tail and licked the mans face and tugged on his apron playfully.

*Human & Rat*

He laughed and scratched behind her ears before standing up. "You're a playful little one, awfully sweet too. It's a shame you're a stray though! Well, I'll get you a bite to eat, how's that sound?" he spoke cheerfully to her, like he always did to the familiar and unfamiliar strays that came by his work place. The man slipped back inside for a moment. Soon he was outside again with a plate of food. He set it down infront of Shadow. The plate contained a half-eatted fish, the crusts of pizza, some bits of dinner rolls, steak pieces, and a bit of sauce. "There you are, some nice food."

The rat watched anxiously now, but didn't dare show herself to the man yet or get in Shadow's way while she ate.

Shadow

Shadow jumped up and barked happily and wagged her tail.She scuffed down the food but remebered she had promised the rat some,so she took the rest in her mouth and ran over to the trash and dropped the food in there.Then she ran back to the man he was really nice and she wanted to play with him more.She barked happily.

*Man & Rat*

The rat clasped her hands together, eager for the food, "Thank you! Very much!" she spoke out gratefully to Shadow when the youngster dropped the food near her. She ate it quickly.

The man grinned at Shadow and leaned down closer to her. "It's not my break time yet, but... close enough." he decided. He couldn't resist pups. Picking up an old rag, he waved the end of it infront of Shadow's face, entising her to play a game of tug-O-war.

Shadow

Shadow growled playfully and ran around doing play-bows.Then seeig the rag se yipped and held on the other end of it and shook it roughly.
