Avalanche

The large bull moose walked slow but powerfully through the underbrush. His white pelt made him strikingly obvious against the dark green plants. Avalanche knew this, and kept a keen alert for any predators. His huge antlers and sharp hooves would provide effective defense for him.

Luna

The wolfess was cautious to stay downwind of this huge beast, and to keep silent. Keeping silent was easier here in the bog where thick moss muffled her foot steps.

When she caught sight of Avalache, Luna was amazed. He was larger than she would have guessed, and white! She waited for the others.

Azari

Azari was stunned by the beast's appearance as well when she appeared about 10 yards away from Luna. She too made sure to stay downwind. She nodded to Luna and slowly began to creep forward. She went extremely slow, low to the ground, and watching her steps to make sure she made no sound.

Kitten

She padded in behind them. She knew to keep quiet cause she always had to when she hunted small things so obviously it was the same with bigger prey. She watches amazed wondering how they'd take on that moose. She pads a little closer silently staying behind them She just wanted a better look. She looked to Aquila for a moment then back to the moose.

Luna

Luna crept foward slowly as well, studying the bull. Going for its neck seemed pretty risky, at least for a first attack. As she drew as close as she dared, Luna charged out of cover from the vegitation, and aimed to leap at the moose's flank...

Azari

When Luna charges Azari does too. Luna was going for the flank so Azari decided upon rushing around to hit from the other side and go for the back and belly. She reaches the other side and leaps, if she should land well she will scratch the belly with her claws and grasp the back with her claws and teeth.

*Avalanche*

As quiet as the wolves were, Avalanche still picked up on the slight noise their bodies made moving agianst the vegetation just before they rushed at him. As both wolves leapt at him, the large bull moved just enough so that they couldn't get a good grip on him with either their fangs or claws. He gave a loud bellow and reared back, knocking both wolfess's off him. Then, just as quickly, the moose reared up again and prepared to drive his sharp hooves into the skull of the nearest wolf if they didn't move in time...

Azari

Azari instinctively rolls aside after falling off of the beast. She jumps up again quickly. They had lost the element of surprise, but she was not giving up. She hoped that she had scratched the large animal, though she had obviously not wounded him. she is already positioned to the side of him, so when he comes crashing down she leaps up, aiming for his flank. He can't possibly land and move away at the same time. She opens her mouth, prepared to bite into whatever she can should she land on him.

Kitten

She was a little to close so she bolts up a tree useing her claws. She stands on a branch directly over Avalache watching him. Even though she was a kitten the branch was to light for her to stand on long. It gave way and she fell directly on avalanch. Frightened she digs her claws in to not fall and hisses as he moves. She digs her claws in as deep as they could go out of fear. She didnt want to be on his back so she looked for a tree branch thaqt was close as she hissed.

Luna

Luna springs out of the way to avoid the deadly hooves. Just as quickly, she darts around to the same side Azari was on and leaps again at Avalanche, aiming for his shoulder. Maybe, with two wolves on one side, his balance could be thrown off...

Aquila

He no longer attained the agility or strength to leap at the bull like the wolfess', but the old wolf decided he'd try his best to help since the kitten was now in danger.

Growling at first, Aquila revealed himself to Avalanche. Then he gave a few short barks of warning, trying to distract the moose's attention from Azari and Luna.

Kitten

She hissed digging her claws in more. She looked for a way off.

Avalanche

He bellowed again as both wolves jumped on him. Had he not been so big, Avalanche might have lost his balance; but he didn't. The kitten only enraged him further. It was like a misqueeto on his back, with its little claws clutching at him.

The bull moose could not reach the wolves with his antlers, but he had another way of getting them off. It was a tactic larger prey species like him could use effectively to knock wolves off of them. Avalanche glared down at Aquila, and rushed for him, ready to crush the wolf if he didn't get out of the way. He headed for a tree very close by, and slammed the side of his body aginst it.

Both wolves are violently knocked off Avalanche. Azari has two broken ribs. Luna has a fractured foreleg. The kitten wasn't knocked off Avalanche.

Azari

Azari fell into the bushes, shaking violently. Her side hurt badly. She only hoped the moose could not see her and would not trample her. She tried to stand up. She could move her legs fine, but it hurt to move anything else, besides her head and tail. She lay hidden in the bushes, unaware of all going on around her.

Kitten

She hisses as he slams against the tree. She scurrys up his back father up his neck past his antlers onto his face. Claws dig in deep befor she jumps to the saftey of a nearby tree. breathing heavily. Her heart beat fast hopeing Aquila got out of the way and that the others would be safe.

Luna

Luna hit the ground, and the wind was knocked out of her. At first, her fore-leg felt oddly numb, but when she struggled to get back up, a bolt of pain shot through it that made her yelp. Though she was still dazed from hitting the ground so hard, Luna scrambled away from Avalanche, and into the vegitation not too far from Azari. She tried not to put any pressure on her fractured leg, but it still pulsed dully with pain. She also hoped the moose would not trample her, and would leave.

*Avalanche*

Avalanche himself was momentarily stunned by such a collision, but was quick to come back to his senses. He snorts loudly, and thrashes his great head when the kitten claws him. Small beads of blood show strikingly aginst his snowy pelt where her claws penatrated through the shorter fur on his face. But he attention quickly returned to the wolfess'. He snorts loudly and paws at the ground in anger, threatening them. But he cannot see them. His one flaw was his eyes; because of his albinoism, his eyesight was very poor.

Very on edge and raging mad, the huge bull thunders through the vegetation to flush out the wolves and drive them away. Luckily, he misses both wolves with his large hooves, and moves several yards away, hoping they were already gone. This time of year, he was protecting his female moose'.

Kitten

She hisses at the moose from the tree and when he moves away she climbs down the tree. She runs over to where se saw Luna and Azari go. She had no clue where Aquila was so she went over to the wolfesses. She looked to them then started calling Aquila. "Aquila! Aquila! Where are you?"

Aquila

He had waited until the moose was very close before he sprung clumsily out of the way. The old wolf cringed and flattened himself down aginst the mossy, damp ground while the great beast charged past him. He waited there until Avalanche gave up and stormed away before standing up.

He heard the kitten's calls, and made his way over to where he heard her. "Is everyone alright?" he asked uncertainly, unable to see any of them unless they were to move.

Luna

She stood up slowly, while not setting her injured leg down. "I'm alright." she replied, despite her fractured leg. She looked from Aquila, the kitten, and then to Azari, "Azari, are you alright?" it was hard for her to see the wolfess hidden in the veggitation.

Kitten

"Im alright to." She said. She was glad to see Aquila was ok and Luna but she was alittle worried about Azari cause she hadent seen her to well yet since she was hidden in the foliage. She sit and cleans her fur with her tounge like all cats do and she waited for Azari to answer Luna's question.

Luna

Luna lifted her keen ears and listened to Avalanche. He was far away, but if he heard any of them talking, she feared he would come back. "Why don't you two go back home. I'll wait here for Azari." the wolfess whispered to the kitten and Aquila.

Azari

Azari lifted her head.

I'm okay... But my side hurts badly... I'll make it though...

She sat up, though it hurt very badly to do so. What was she going to do? The humans at the wolf center would kill her if they found her, so she couldn't go to them for help. She thought hard for a moment.

Luna? Have you ever heard of an old lady who lives on a farm or something like that? I've heard snippets of conversation about her but not too much. But I heard something about her healing wolves and stuff... I don't think I'll live unless I get help... Do you think I could go to her? I really don't know what to do...

She looked to Luna desperately.

And how are you? Are you going to be okay?

Luna

Luna pulled her ears back in worry, seeing that Azari was hurt the worse.
"I'm alright, I just hurt my leg. The human you've heard of lives not too far from here. I actually went there once... I don't realy like humans, but she would help you."
Luna remembers last time she went there, and didn't realy like it. But, it was Azari's only help.
"I'll show you where it is; do you need help getting up?"

Azari

No, I don't think so, but I might need help getting there. I'm going to be moving pretty slowly and I don't know how long I'll be able to stay up. I'll have to rest along the way. But I'll get there eventually.

she raises herself to her feet

Luna

"Alright, we'll go slow." she stands close to Azari so the wolf could lean onher if she needed to. Luna started walking to the Woodland Farm at a slow pace, stopping when ever Azari needed. She limped badly herself, and didn't put any weight on her leg. Other than that, she could travel ok.

Kitten

She nods and pads out of the terrain.
