Hydras, Skeil, & Bullet

Hydras choose the highest grounds to travel across first, so their pace wouldn't be hindered by the soggy lower lands. She stopped in a small clearing and waited for the rest of the pack.

Skeil and Bullet stopped in the clearing with her to await the others.

L y c k o s

The hybrid had kept up well with his big build. He soon slowed and stopped with Hydras and the others in the clearing. He sat down and waited, though he guessed the others werent far behind.

Satan, Vitani, Suki, Kuro

The male wolf was the first to reach Hydras and the others. He stopped, whilst he waited for the rest to catch up. Meanwhile he looked to Lyckos and decided to intoduce himself.
Lyckos is it? Hi, Im Satan.

Coming up behind her father, panting but a little came his daughter. The wolfess smiled warmly. Hello, Im Vitani. The pair soon moved off and sat down away from the group whislt they waited for the others to catch up.

Suki and Kuro arrived soon after. As they passed the hybrid Kuro spoke. I am Kuro and this is my mate Suki. Nice to meet you Lyckos and welcome to the pack. The passed him and moved to stand nearby Skeil and Bullet.

Fanta

Fanta followed shortly looking up and Hydras. " Who are these wolves?" Fanta asked Hydras. Fanta kept her tail down submissively and for domince. Fanta was a obient wolf dog and knew who was boss.

Ninaki

The sepia-brown hybrid entered the clearing, standing near the edge of it as he watched the others come in. His tail was raised relatively high to show his standing as second-highest in the pack. And having already made his introductions to Lyckos, he looked to Fanta, "Ninaki." Once again, a very short introduction.

Aaka*Sequioa

A silent duo moved towards the pack, one trying her hardest not to smile and the other sulking. She had yet to speak with Hydras. Aaka stopped near Bullet as the smile spread across her pretty mouth and she chuckled "Two of your pups are blue mon ami." Indeed two of Sasha and Bullets pups had found sky blue paint and decided to play in it. With a smile she turned to Hydras awaiting orders. Well...Not orders but directions.

Sequioa moved towards Ninaki. He was the closet thing she had now. Yersinia had been her friend...Sort of but now she had no one left except Sasha who was busy with pups and a new mate. She uttered no word to the beta and stared straight ahead at the trees in front of her. She had no one now. She was alone and maybe now life would be ok because no one could hurt her now.

Hydras, Skeil, & Bullet

Once Aaka and Sequioa arrived, Hydras replied to the new fea's question, "That's Ninaki, Lyckos, my brother Bullet, Satan, Skeil, Sequioa, Aaka, Vitani, Suki, and Kuro. Not the entire pack, but the others shouldn't be far behind." She announced, pointing out each member as she named them. And then in a louder voice, to gain everyone's attention, she spoke again, "Everyone, this is Fanta. A new member of the pack. She has a single pup, Patch, who is at the Den." Now that everyone was introduced, the alpha turned the subject of the travels; the hunt. "Everyone use caution; moose are nothing to take lightly." Head down once more, she set off across the boggy ground, trying to scent out their quarry. She knew Unknown would be able to follow their trail easily enough.

Bullet's eyes lit up as he heard Aaka's remark, "Blue?" He stared at the alpha for a moment before realizing what he was doing. With a gruff and sheepish 'sorry', he dropped his eyes and pulled his ears back. Aaka's words didn't come with alarm, so the father took some solace in that; but... he was confused. Blue pups? Oh, poor Sasha... Still confused, he turned and followed after his sister.

Skeil gave a little laugh, picturing in her mind what must have happened. She had been around long enough to discover paint, and it was the only thing she could think of that would litterally turn a pup blue. Keeping the humorous image in mind, the pit bull fanned out to the right side of Hydras and began the search.

L y c k o s

As Hydras gave her warning and headed off, Lyckos was close to follow. Staying behind the Alphess, the hybrid moved quickly but cautiously across the boggy landscape. He kept his senses alert. His big ears were erect and he tried to catch onto the scent of a Moose.

Satan, Vitani, Suki and Kuro

The four spread out and began to search for prey, taking care to be vigalant and cautious.

Aaka*Sequioa

The alphess smiled at Bullet before pulling up beside Hydras. Alphess and alphess leading the way to find food for the pack.

Sequioa stayed behind the others, near the rear of the pack like an omega would. Its not that she was being submissive. The female wanted to be alone to think but her duties called.

Ninaki

Ninaki followed the pack as well, but didn't take up a position up front where his ranking would be suited. Instead, his position was much further back and far out to the side. Somewhat close to Sequioa, while still having a good deal of space surrounding him.

*Moose*

A ways ahead, a cow moose was half-submerged in a deep pond, grazing off the water vegetation at the bottom.

On shore, a young bull calf pranced around, butting his head against saplings and kicking out his hooves as if he were being attacked by an invisible enemy. His mother, who would bring her head up to check on her calf now and then, knew that this was all in play.

Hydras, Skeil, & Bullet

As the pack fell in line for the hunt, Hydras couldn't help but feel a great pride in the pack and her allies. Everything seemed to be going great for once; new members, new pups, a good pack-outing. What could be better? Well, if she had a mate and pups to call her own, but well, she couldn't complain. Not right now. The scent of moose suddenly caught the alpha's nose, "Smell that?" She whispered, turning her muzzle in the direction the scent came from. Hydras altered her course to follow the odor, until it brought her to the pond. Eyes turned from the cow to the calf; she planned to take both, for the calf wouldn't go far in feeding her pack and the growing pups. Being silent, she let her body language tell the pack the plan; take the calf quickly. Another signal was sent to Skeil; keep the mother at bay.

When the cow dipped her head underwater, Hydras rushed the calf, going straight for the throat.

Skeil sprung from hiding, running for the shore. She stood, eyeing the back of the submerged moose, ready to do what was needed.

Bullet offered a friendly nod and smile to those that offered him one during the hunt. But by the time they had reached the moose, he couldn't help but shake a dreadful feeling. He wanted to returned back to the Den, but he couldn't figure out why. Putting the thought aside, he concentrated on the moose. As his sister leapt out, he did as well. His target was the calf's muzzle, where he could help to control the creature and suffocate it as well.

Ninaki

Ninaki leapt for the calf's back, trying to weigh the creature down and make the struggle a quick one. Using his dew claws for better grip if he managed to land right, the beta sent his fangs for the moose's back.

Sequioa

Sequioa to had a bad feeling but she followed Skeil to the mother moose in case the large female tried to charge the others. She growled lightly as a feeling of dread over came her. She stood tall and proud waiting, waiting.

Aaka stood silently as if perplexed when suddenly she turned and raced away to the alleys. The dread had hit her as well to. Her long limbs carried her far to the alleys den where a site of devastation racked through her body before she could howl, Aaka was locked.

L y c k o s

He caught onto the scent just after Hydras. Nodding he took off after the Alphess and the others. Catching sight of the calf and its mother Lyckos' mouth began to water. However he stayed silent, and once the mother had submerged her head and Hydras had lept for the calf, Lyckos did the same. Trying to dodge Ninaki and not to clash wih Hydras, Lyckos aimed to catch the back of the Moose's neck. He would use his powerful jaws to snap the spine/ neck bone and his weight to help pin the calf down.

Satan, Vitani, Kuro and Suki

Satan bounded after Hydras. He and the other had not yet smelled the Moose, but they trusted the Alphess' judgement. Bounding after her, Satan went for a hind leg of the calf.
Vitani went for the other hind leg.
Suki for the front leg and Kuro took the other.

Fanta

Fanta followed the others breathing deeply. She could smell a faint scent of moose, but she couldn't tell which way it was coming and it smelled as thought their were more then one.

*Moose*

The calf struggled briefly, but there was little he could do against the pack's onslaught. Not hearing or seeing their approach in time, he was taken down easily by the hunters. Not, however, before he gave a warning cry to his mother.

The cow heard the murmur of the cry through the water. Raising her head, her large, dark eyes fell upon the pack. Motherly instinct bayed her to protect the calf, even though he was now dead. Thundering through the water, the moose charged towards her calf, ready to trample any in her way...

Fanta

Fanta turned her head towards the water and barked. Fanta looked at Hydras warningly and looked at the calf. " I'll distract the cow from you guys." Fanta volunteered and dashed into the brush hoping for reinformences. Fanta looked over her shoulder hoping the moose was following her breathing deeply and taking big strides.

Sequioa

A snarl erupted from her and she leaped suddenly, not listening to any around her. She went straight for the cows throat, her leap precise and quick. She would catch him. She would destroy him. But for now, She would kill the cow and then kill him later.

Hydras, Skeil, & Bullet

Skeil lept at the cow as she charged from the water. With a quick, powerful leap, she aimed to sink her fangs into the snout of the creature. If she got her hold, she'd curl up her body and let her entire weight hang from her embedded teeth.

Hydras released the calf as soon as its struggles were over. Then her attention went to the charging cow... two pack members had already attacked the cow, and a third was trying to distract it. "Watch the hooves!" The alphess barked, springing away from the calf and out of the moose's way. Sizing up her next prey, Hydras launched for the shoulder area.

Bullet cleared out of the mother's path and circled sharply on the opposite side of the cow moose. When his sister went for one shoulder, he went for the other.

Lyckos

The male dropped the dead calf, please with his efforts in bringing it down. However he didnt have a lot of time to dwell on this feeling. The calf's mother was charging for them. Cursing under his breath the Labradane lept to the side, but not without being caught by one of the hooves. It gashed his side, slicing it open, but it wasnt too bad. Baring his fangs and snarling savagely, the beast jumped up and tryed to get a bite on the back of her neck and rip at the skin to get a better shot at the spinal cord, or if he got a good enough grip to snap the spine/neck.

Ninaki

The beta narrowly missed getting scythed by a hoof as he and the rest of the pack scattered like wind-blown leaves from the fallen calf. His eyes flashed briefly to Lyckos, seeing the blow he took. Ninaki was releived to see that the labradane was still up and going; he was tough, which was a great thing for the Lurkers. Focusing on the mother now, the hybrid went for her back haunch, trying to get a hold high up on her flesh where he could avoid the hooves.

Fallen She was quick, quick almost like a cheetah. Long nimble limbs propelling her almost as if she were in flight. Behind the rest of the pack, she saw them taking down a larger moose, the mother. With the sight of everyone attacking, and herself closing in, she had to choose quickly on where she should bite. It was along with Lycko that she attacked. As she neared the cow she launched herself, flying higher than most here could with her light weight. Open jaws gaped then snapped like a bear trap at the gullet of the deer. Where the windpipe and esophagus both were most exposed. Hopefully the mother was in enough blind rage, and now pain, that she wouldn’t see Fallen come up beside her as if out of the blue.

Jake

He to had been gone for some time but he had caught wind of the hunt. As the calf went down he grinned but a snarl soon rose from him as he saw Fallen go for the mother. An urge to protect her rose strong from within him and he tore after her. As she leaped, he leaped as well going for the mothers chest, his golden body a blur as he tried to hit the mother full on and knock her down. He was a big hybrid with his golden retirever and wolf heritage. A big dog indeed.

*Moose*

The moose had turned after Fanta in the onset, slashing her deadly hooves as the mother before returning her coarse towards her fallen calf. She kicked and failed her hooves as the pack swarmed her, but there was no way she could defend all of them. Her head was weighed down as Skeil got her muzzle, causing her to bellow in rage and agony. She then kicked out as Sequioa went for her throat, but with her head pulled down, it was hard to kick far.

Then the rest of the pack made their hold on her, though she thrashed and struck out at random, hoping to hit one or two of them. If there were only a few, she would have tried to knock them off by running through the dense trees; but she staggered under the pack's combined weight and found it hard to move. Two pains hit her neck, and a heavy blow befell her chest. If there weren't so many clinging to her front end, she would have remained standing; but as it was, her legs buckeled and she fell to her knees. She bellowed again, this time her voice sounding more sorrowful and shallow than before, as she recognized defeat.

The cow struggled to raise, but she couldn't. Sharp pain shot through her spine as Lyckos bit down. Breathing was labored from where Sequioa and Fallen had their hold. The rest of the bites just added to her distress and weakening energy, ensuring her death. After a few moments, the moose swayed and fell to her side. Again, she struggled a bit, kicking out and trying in vain to lift her head. But alas, there were just too many predators. After a minute of futile struggles and weakening bellows, she took her last breath.

Fallen

The dark figure held tight onto her pray until she could feel the life drain completely out. Then with another pointless chomp, she reasured herself the moose was dead. Her head lifted, it felt light and somewhat hurt from the ride, but with a few shakes the pain ceased and she backed away so that the rest of the pack could have their fill. Mo< She walked under a tree and looked at the golden dog, she had never seen him before. She shook her head and laid down, tiara resting softly on her front feet as she watched the pack feast on both the cow and calf, only after everyone was done would she help herself.

Soon her head perked up and she looked for Hydras, wondering where the alphess had gone. She was ready to admit where she was in her absence. Even if it was a terrible act, it was an instinct. One she most surely was begining to hate.

Jake

As the cow fell he turned and trotted to the calf and tore a huge hunk off of it before trotting over to Fallen. He set it down before her and backed away with a soft whine. "Here.....You take it." He said softly. The golden wolf had taken a fancy for her even if he had not been around for some time. He had been watching her when he had passed through and now, now he figured was the time to introduce himself. "Hi....I'm Jake." His fluffy tail wagged behind him as he grinned at her warmly.

Fanta

Fanta yipped happily and returned to the clearing to here the last of the pack kill the animal. Fanta was near Jake and turned to him. " Hello Jake, I'm Fanta. I joined the Alley pack not long ago with my pup Patch, surely Hydras will let you join if you want to." Fanta said in a creamy voice.

Jake

He raised an eyebrow to the other fatale and said in his husky voice "I have been part of the Lurkers for a year now. I do not need to join." He turned his eyes back to Fallen a soft smile on his maw. You can trust me. I'm your best friend. They seemed to tell her.

Fallen

The shadow fea was looking around for Hydras, though didn't see her, so she turned to the rest of the pack as they took their fill. She didn't expect the hunk of meat to land in front of her and growled softly in surprise and rose to her feet. Crimson globes searching for the source to find Jake. Staring gently at him she trembled in a shy way and smiled, "Hello Jake, I'm Fallen...." As Fanta said her name Fallen looked to the femme, she hadn’t been there when the fea was accepted but nodded in greeting. "Hello Fanta." She smiled then turned to the meat and hesitated. She was the lowest in the pack and felt wrong eating before he did.

"A-are you sure?" She said as she softly nipped at it, tensing to prepare for a punishing bite or growl. It was something she was use to by now. This was her second pack, the first was just a safe haven for her pups, she had followed her daughter into this one, but unknown to the pack Risen had started to create her own. Fallen didn't even know of this secret pack yet. Something she wouldn't be proud of for sure.

Jake

He smiled at her warmly and nodded to her. "Go ahead. I am not hungry, but I did not wish to see a lovely fae such as yourself be hurt." Fanta disappeared from his sight now. All he could see was Fallen. The golden brute lay down and scooted towards the meat and took a bite then nodded to her signaling that he would split it with her so that she did not feel so out of place since he was a higher being in the pack. Not much higher but higher none the less.

L y c k o s

Lyckos' jaws were still sealed round the moose until the beast finally gave up. The cow took her last shuddering breath and died. Lyckos grinned, This pack sure was strong. He waited a few more minutes, just to make sure the cow wasn't faking death, before dropping the corpse. He knew he didnt have much of a chance to eat first, after-all he was new, and so the Labradane moved a little way away from the kill and began to nurse the wound he had picked up from the cow's hooves. It wasn't anything too serious.

Sequioa

Because I'm Coming for you

Her eyes seemed to glow with a burning hatred as she tore her own chunk from the beast. She only ate a few bites of it before she picked it up and began to trot away, heading back to the Den. She would take this to Sasha. She wasn't really all that hungry anyways. Her body was like silk as her fur caught the falling sun making the delta fae seem to shimmer and shine as she slipped as if a ghost through the trees. Was Sequioa cold hearted? A little. Did she care? She had once.

Hydras, Skeil, & Bullet

Hydras released her hold once she was sure that the beast was truely dead. Then she stood high, banner and dial raised to their rightful height of dominance as she scanned over the pack. Her eyes came to rest on Lyckos for a moment as she watched him tend to his wound. A flicker of concern shown in her dark orbs, but she could see at least that the injury was not a life-threatening one, so she didn't make any comment on it.

Bullet and Skeil both backed away from the kill after ensuring that the cow was finished. Head down, they looked anxiously to their leader, awaiting permission to feast.

After a moment of posturing, just to secure her position and remind everyone of her rank, Hydras lowered her jaws to the meat. Her gaze fell away from the others as she began to feast, and her body relaxed just a touch; signaling everyone to join in. Heirarchy would have to be dealt with on an individual base this time. With such a big kill, she knew there was plenty to go around.

Skeil happily approached the kill, choosing to feast at the haunch. Holding one of the higher rankings, she growled quietly as she feasted, to warn other not to steal her favored section of meat.

Bullet, whom normally had to wait before eating, was glad to dine with the pack. However, he moved for the calf so that the higher-ranking members could feast on the larger cow.

Fanta

Fanta rasied her eyebrow. " You have Jake? Never seen you." Fanta said waiting as Hydras went for he meal first. Then it would be a few others, then her that would eat. She need rankings and she had much respect for it. Fanta sat down near the kill and panted happily, fresh kill. Sweet, Sweet hunt.

Lyckos

As Hydras signalled everyone could eat, Lyckos happily got up and trotted over to the kill. Breathing in deeply, the rumbling in his stomach was finally quenched as he took his first bite. Tearing at the carcass, Lyckos began to eat quickly, making sure he had a good fill before the others got to it. Selfish yes, but if he didnt look after himself, Who would?

Fanta

Fanta chowed down on the meat happily. Boy was she ever hungry

Fallen

Bloody sphere’s looked up timidly to his face. Her eyes staring in the middle of his head, if she could have blushed she would, but pink wouldn’t show through her black pelt. Instead she gave a meek smile and wagged her tail happily to the complement. “Thank you” She said, then watched as the others began to eat. This made her more comfortable, and she turned to eat with Jake. Such a nice hybrid, why hadn’t she met him before.

Her mind began to toss the idea of pups again, but it only pained her that the alpha had no pups of her own, and that Fallen was the lowest of all the others. She sighed softly to herself and shook her head, as if answering her own question. Then continued to pick at the meal, even though it didn’t seem it, she would let him have the majority if he changed his mind and was actually hungry himself.

Hydras, Skeil, Bullet, & Pirqua

Hydras's eyes glanced upward from her meal and landed on Lyckos for a split second before flickering off in another direction to survey the others. He was bold enough to step right up with the pack; that she liked very much. But Hydras didn't get much time to think over this before the pack's meal was interrupted.

A peregrine falcon came jetting down from the sky, flying hard and fast. "Hydras! The Den has been ambushed! Enternal and several others; the pups are being killed!" Pirqua cried out, circling sharply over the group as she said this.

Bullet felt as if he'd been kicked in the gut. Brother and sister exchanged looks before he took off towards the den.

"Bullet! Wait!" Hydras barked sharply, but he was off. All he could think about were his pups and Sasha. "Hurry, to the Den!" Hydras howled, rallying the pack as she took off after her brother, tail up and hackles raised.

Skeil didn't need to be told twice. Dropping a peice of meat she had just torn off, the pit bull charged after her leader, ready for battle.

Pirqua circled once more over the pack before following back to the Den.

Lyckos

The Labradane almost chocked when he heard that. Spitting out the unchewed piece of meat, Lyckos turned on the spot and bolted after Hydras and the others, growling.

Fallen

The black she wolf was concentrating on her meal as her eyes just so happened to catch Hydras looking around, and then up to the sky. She didn’t even have time to look up when the falcon came crashing down with the bad news. News that made every nerve in her body stand on end. The pups she had seen before being killed, nothing she wanted to hear in a million years. She had turned to Jack with worry-filled eyes and launched herself in the direction of the den, along with the rest of the pack. She didn’t mean to be rude to the brute, but this was the pack she had learned to love and be apart of. She wasn’t going to let them fight without her…. But where was Risen?

Nimble limbs moved with agility under her thin frame, a bushy tail flagged down below her as she gained as much speed as she could. She was a fast one, her body built to race and run. Without thinking she pulled as fast as she could to the den, even if she left the others in her dust, she was going to help Sasha and the pups.

Fanta

Fanta barked panicked and shuttered. " Patch!" She yiped and leaped forward racing like the wind towards the den, far away. She needed to save Patch before he had a fate like her mate.
