Ayla
The Noric-mix cantered into the area, flicking her head and tail high and taking high-paced steps through the boggy ground. It wasn't long before her dark coat was speckled with mud and duckweed.
She dipped her muzzle to drink at the brackish water before moving to higher ground and grazing.
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Hydras was leading part of her pack in search of food when a dark shadow passed in front of her. Stopping short, she looked up to see Jet-Wing sail by. He wheeled around and landed in front of her.
"Hydras! Aaka says she's gonna fight someone soon. Someone hurt Sasha, and a human's taking care of her... Bullet's there though. No need to worry. Well, got to go back, reporting to Aaka!" Leaving the alpha no time to respond, the falcon took off, heading back to the Alleys.
Hydras snorted, "Stupid bird. Doesn't give much explination... but a fight sounds fun. Yes, we need some practice."
Narsia and Skeil were quite excited to hear this and the beta piped up, "I wonder who it might be this time? I hope Sasha is alright though... I don't like that sounds of a human being there."
Hydras nodded, "I know, me neither. But if there was any trouble with the two-legger, Aaka would have sent word with Jet. Now, lets get some food. Then we'll head back to the Alleys, if Aaka doesn't find us here first." The alphess headed off again, trudging through the swampy grounds until she came to the sight of the Noric mix. Quickly she signaled her pack to fan out and surround the beast.
Narsia, Skeil, and Yersinia all spread out, blocking a direct route for Ayla to escape, unless she headed for the deeper water.
Sequioa*Flame
Quietly two other dogs appear. Sequioa nods to Hydras moving out to the right Flame to the left. The odd looking hybrid Stood near to Yersinia a low growl emitting from her chest. "Why cant we ever go after cats I always want to say here kitty kitty kitty but nooo we go after horses..or cows....or whatever else we find. Never a stupid cat" she muttered to the hybrid next to her. Sequioa never talked much but....Today was a new day.
The rottweiler watched the others and took Bullets position near the back a distance away ready to give chase. He wanted to run. Oh would Aaka get a kick out of this....
Ninaki & Kenyon
Ninaki took up a place near his mate as they advanced on the horse. Here was payback for Bullet's headache and the trauma that the blasted Mark and his horse caused last year! Killing a horse that had come from the Ranch would be nice vengence.
Kenyon traveled on the outer edge of the ring, staying somewhat in the back near Flame, but further out so he'd stay out of everyone's way.
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Yersinia grinned a bit, whipering low to her packmate, "I know; we should try for a bit of cat hunting at the Ranch later. That place is crawling with them."
Skeil glanced at the hybrid, wondering just how Yersinia knew about that cat population at the Ranch. But she put the question aside and focused at the task at hand.
Seeing her pack assembled, Hydras signaled ocne more, this time for a charge. The alphess lunged forward and plowed across the ground, spraying up muck and water as she went.
Narsia, Skeil, and Yersinia plundged headon, closing their semi-circle around the mare in order to drive her towards the deep water or cut her off if she tried to dash past them.
Ayla
The mare turned at the sound of so many splashing through the water. The horse then reared and gave a sharp, panicked scream that rent the air with its shrillness. Knowing she could not fend off so many, Ayla turned and headed into the water, trying to swim fast for the opposite shore...
Flame
Trying to decide if he should give chase Flame looked around. "Jake!" he barked. The retriver hybrid saw his chance to give chase to the horse. He growled and leaped hard into the water. He landed near the horse swmming hard to keep pace snapping every now again trying to slow her down so that She wouldnt reach the other side.
Sequioa raced to the bank standing tall barking ready to go in after Jake but staying where she was waiting for Hydras's orders
Ninaki & Kenyon
He plundged into the water. Perfect!. Now her hooves could do the pack no damage, so long as they could catch her int he water. He swam hard, trying to catch up and grab her tail. Then Ninaki would swim the opposite way to slow her down.
Kenyong followed quickly after his father. He was large and powerful and swam quickly. He tried to com up along the mare's side and sink his fangs into her haunch to further slow her down.
Legosa
The large mongrel came sprinting into the land, heading after the Shadow Lurker's trail. With so many members, it wasn't hard to find them. He paused at the opposite shore. "A horse? Interesting." He snorted, interested in the event. "Hey, when you're finished with your little hunt here, Aaka needs you at the Ruins." Legosa announced loudly, then sat back to watch the happenings.
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Hydras dove after Ayla, readily entering the water to secure a good meal. Hoping the others would bog the mare down, the alpha tired to drawn up along her neck and grab her muzzle. If she got that, it'd be terribly easy to subdue and kill the horse. As she fought to swim closer to the horse, she listened to all that went on around her. Spotting Sequioa on the shore, she nodded. It was a good position, just in case Ayla got away. Then she noticed Jake and gave a sharp bark, "Help secure the horse!"
Narsia came up along the horses side and tried to clamber onto her back. If she could, Narsia would then bite the creature's neck.
Yersinia wasn't quite so fast as the others since her smaller frame and longer hair tended to bog her in the waters. But if the others could slow her down, Yersinia aimed to grab onto the side of Ayla's head.
Skeil took the water as well, paddling fast with her smooth coat and well-muscled legs. Striving to catch the equine, the pit bull aimed to dig her ivories into the flesh of the shoulder.
Ayla
The horse squealed in pain, trying to thrash and kick, but she could not raise her legs high enough to hit anything but water. The first attackers slowed her down, and she veered away from the opposite shore when Sequioa appeared there. Swim as she might, more canines latched onto her and the water around began to stain with her blood. The horse gave an ear-peircing scream and tried to shake the attackers off. The whites of her wide-open eyes showed now and she struggled to lift her head about the water as Hydras now grabbed her muzzle.
The more she struggled and swam about, the more the fangs damaged her hide and muscles. But she fought, trying to drag herself to shore...
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Hydras bit hard, thrashing about as she did, trying to get Ayla to inhale water and her own blood as she struggled. She fought against the horse's struggles, trying to keep her from shore. But after a while of struggling, the alpha suddenly let go, "Back off, everyone! We're heading for the Ruins now. This horse is wounded enough; we can finish her off after the fight. Come on!" The leader headed for the shore, shook herself off, and sprinted for the Ruins.
Narsia, Skeil, and Yersinia had all bit and tore as much as they could, trying to cause the most damage. They released their holds as commanded and followed after Hydras.
Legosa
He turned away from the horse and watched the pack begin to leave. Never had he attacked a horse before, but he thought it might be fun to try later. Thoughts of blood and fighting entered his thoughts, leading Legosa in a fast run to the Ruins.
Ninaki & Kenyon
They both disengaged as well, after causing as much damage as possible in their short attack. Shaking their fur as they reached shore, father and son left swiftly for the Ruins.
Ayla
The mare struggled through the water as the pack filed away. She was too tired and shocked to care or even wonder at why they decided to leave her. Reaching the shore, the Noric mix pulled herself up, shaking and in a daze as many animals are after being mauled on. Ayla stood for a moment, blood mixing in and streaming down her sides as the water dripped from her hide. Feeling weak and very vulnerable, the mare headed for the Eskers.
