Niavo & Twlight Reign

Now the two hybrids were nearly adolescents. Twilight Reign had been successful in dragging his brother into another outting; but this time he was sure to remember where he was going and just how to get back. "See, we aren't lost. We can explore and then get back before Mom and Dad ever know we're gone."

Niavo shook his head as he traveled behind his brother, "If they get angry, I'm telling them it was your idea."

"Lighten up, bro." Twilight replied after rolling his eyes. "Now lets find a moose or something; maybe we can catch something and bring it back; they'll be proud of us then!"

Avalanche

The 'King of the Bog' had been rather satisfied that no wolves or other predators had bothered him or his cows and sired calves. He had been resting idly in a thick grove of spruce when the sound of the youngsters came to him. With a snort, the giant clambered to his feet and turned his massive ears towards their voices. He stamped a hoof to the ground and snorted again while shaking his head to rustle branches with his great, splayed antlers. He couldn't see the two yet, so he wasn't ready to dash at the sound of their voices. He knew wolves ambushed sometimes.

Niavo & Twlight Reign

Twlight Reing froze and shifted fearful eyes to his brother, "What was that?" he whispered.

Niavo had crouched down slightly, eyes wide. "I-I dunno... something big!" Niavo saw the terrified look his brother gave him. As adventurous as Twlight was, he still wasn't the bravest. Seeing his chance to lead his brother, Niavo stood up taller and narrowed his eyes in a look of smug confidence. "Lets go check it out." The youngster headed off in the direction of Avalanche.

Twlight gulped loudly but followed after his brother. "I don't think this is a good idea..."

Avalanche

Avalanche heard them coming, and soon enough, he spotted them. Like a trail he came crashing through the low vegetation. His large hooves were going to stamp the life out of the young explorers. But before the great moose reached them, he stopped dead in his tracks and flared his cavernous nostrils. His broad muzzle was tilted to the breeze. In his fierce pink eyes was the unmistakable look of fear. Without warning, the giant creature wheeled around and dashed surprisingly quick out of site.
