Yersinia
The young hybrid pup scrambled over rocks and around clumps of ferns and thorn bushes. She had traveled from Pike's Lake, and like her sister, she was now lost. She was afraid to howl because she didn't want to attracked unwanted attention.
*Avalanche*
Avalanche had been laying down, chewing his cud. Without knowing it, Yersinia had come quite close to the large beast, and the wind was blowing downwind towards him. His great nostrils flared as he picked up the canine's scent, and Avalanche rose swiftly to his feet. With a bellow, he spotted Yersinia and charged at her.
The huge bull moose was highly aggressive, even with harmless pups like this. And now, with pregnant cow moose in his terra, he was even less tolerant of any dangers.
Mekenis
The mix-breed dog had been wondering around the area for a while, a bit dismayed at what had happened recently. He chanced upon Yersinia's trail and followed after her to see who she was. He happened to catch up to her just as she startled the great bull. Fearful that the pup would be smashed into the ground by the large hooves, Mekenis rushed forward and launched himself at Avalanch, trying to take him by the snout.
Yersinia
The pup's eyes widened at the sight of such a huge creature. She cowered down, paralyzed by fear now. The pup watched as Mekenis sprung up to attack Avalanche, and she hoped for both their sakes' that he'd win.
Ghost
The fem had been andering aorund bored, when she saw the bull charge at the pup, and Mekenis go after him she grew angry, charging for the pup, she ran over grabbing the pup by its neck, but not enought to hurt her. She ran out to PIke lake with the little one in her jaws.
Yersinia
Yersinia instictively curled up when Ghost plucked her up off the ground; she was too scared and confused to resist.
*Avalanche*
He wasn't scared in the least bit by the two adult canines. Avalanche reared back again and lashed his hooves out as Mekenis leapt for his snout. The large, sharp-edged hooves struck the dog in the muzzle hard enough to shatter the bones there. Death would come shortly from bleeding and shock, if not by the moose's next attack.
Mekenis
He was sent to the ground without time or thought to yelp. Dazed by the blow, the dog slowly staggered to his feet, coughing and sputtering as the blood filled his nose and mouth. He staggered back and tripped, falling down. His glossy, stunned gaze turned up to look at Avalanche. Dully aware of what was going on, the dog didn't even think to move out of the way. He was just trying to breath right now.
*Avalanche*
Avalanche didn't waste time in charging once more. The lethal hooves were raised as the monsterous bull reared back once more. Snorted loudly, he brought his hooves; one directly over the dog's neck, and the other over his rib cage. He was killed instantly. Avalanche calmed down a fraction, and studied the dog a moment with a firery gaze. Scenting or seeing no other canines, the huge white bull turned and trotted away from the gruesome scene with a bit of crimson staining the white fur above his hooves.
