Dark Knight
The three stallions had first started off traveling through the Ochotna Mountains, but in the end had wound up here. They had never been here before, and were quite weary. The sight of the light snow stood out clearly from the scarlet lake. Something just didn't seem right about this place to Dark Knight. It didn't seem right to any of them. The jet black stallion watch with his chocolate brown orbs as his creamello coated brother went farther out, coming a bit closer to the lake. Helix stopped a little ways before the fence, where he started to sniff and nudge the worn down thing. He knew it was human made, which made it so he went no farther than that. In fact, Knight and Astroid watched as he began to back up from it. Soon Astroid went over to join him a little where they stood a little away from the fence. Dark Knight knowing they would have to make a decision upon whether to go back through the mountains, or stay here for a night or so, went over to talk with his siblings. All three were brothers, children of Comet, though they all didn't share the same mother. Helix was largest of the three, he weighed 1300 lbs, and was built with muscles like a fighter. His siblings oddly enough both weighed 1000 lbs, and stood at 17 hands. As a group they decided to stay here, but they would take turns as guard. The sun was surely going to set soon. Staying near one another, knowing their were safety in numbers, they each began to graze, occasionally glancing around for other animals or danger. Using their hooves' they began to move snow out of their way so they could get to the grass under underneath.
Hero; Peacekeeper; Ptera
"I don't think this is a good idea..." Ptera mumbled, the bay horse walking behind her mother, Hero, and her distant relative of about the same age, Peacekeeper. Ptera would technically be Peacekeeper's distant great-aunt. Ptera, though much younger than Hero, would also be Hero's distant aunt. They all shared a common ancestor: Greyfell.
"Don't worry about it. Just...don't go near the water." Peacekeeper reassured Ptera, keeping on course toward the lake.
Hero nodded. "Yeah, whatever you do, do not get anywhere near the water. Stay at least an oak-and-a-half's length from it." Hero used oak trees, at a rough average of 70 feet in height for mature trees, as a measurement of height and distance.
The three continued walking until they reached the fence. In the distance, they say three horses. Stallions, it looked like, and the breeze blowing their way would let them know that all three were in heat right now.
After a moment, Peacekeeper, being a brave horse, took steps toward the stallions. "Hey, hello over there!" Peacekeeper yelled as polite as anybody could yell. "I just want to let you know, I mean, if you don't already know, that this is toxic water. Just be careful!"
Ptera watched anxiously. She was nervous around this area, fearing that this place was even more dangerous than they already knew.
Helix
Helix was the first to notice the other mares by their call. He didn't smell them because the cold had caused his nose to stuff up just enough to keep him from smelling stuff far away. His head raised in their direction, and he maneuvered his body around to start at a slow trot in their direction. A kind smile, almost a smirk, on his face showed that he meant no harm. His white auds swerved back as he heard his brother's hissed voice calling him back, but of course he ignored him. The creamello stallion was in a good mood, and being the charmer that he was, he wasn't going to let this chance get away. Coming toward the three he spoke in a smooth masculine tone, his melody tone not faltering once over the string of words. "Ladies, what brings you to such a dangerous place as this? My name is Helix, son of the late Comet and Ruffienne. May I ask for your names?" He could smell them now because he was close to them now, but he didn't let on about it. Being around females had taught him to handle these kind of situations pretty well.
"Helix, come back, they might not want to be bothered." Unlike his brother at the moment, he had realized that they were in season. The black stallion moved after his brother, his hooves keeping up a steady beat of a fast walk, knowing that if his brother caused a problem then he would have to fix it. As he came forward he spoke his voice deep, a sort of harsh sound with a hint of tenderness. "Thanks for the warning, we've figured it was dangerous, but you helpe'd confirm it. I am Dark Knight, Knight if you've will, I am Helix's brother." He gave a smile, trying to be friendly to the mares, even though their scent was a little intoxicating, he did his best to try to ignore it. It didn't seem to be bothering his brother though.
Astroid was the last to come up. The smell didn't bother him one bit, he had traveled with his sisters, and they had came into season around the same time, so he had to get used to it. His voice was a deep sound without trying to be. "Yes, like my brother I thank you for letting us know. Some might not of been so thoughtful. I am Astroid, a half sibling to Helix and Knight. It's a pleasure to meet you three, it's been a while since we've seen another like our kind that has been willing to talk to us." He was the oldest of the three stallions. Flicking his tail he lowered his head somewhat so he wouldn’t seem so dominant, and spook the mares. One of them already seemed scared enough.
