Masenas & Stallis
The two adolescent boarder collies scramble over the steep terrain. The scent of bear was aluring, and Stallis led his sister after the smell.
*Bear*
A large male bear heard the pups coming. He had just been able to kill an already wounded moose, and was not about to be annoyed by these two. The huge animal turned around and made a 'popping' sound with his jaws; a warning for the collies to back off.
Masena & Stallis
Stallis barks threateningly to the bear and steps closer. This bear would be fun to pester.
Masena hesitates; this creature looked more dangerous than the cattle they had to protect. But, with her brother acting so bravely, so would too. Raising her fur, the young collie barked and made mock rushes at the bear.
*Bear*
The bear rushes at the adolescents suddenly and swings a powerful paw that was strong enough to kill a black bear. He caught Masenas with it, and she was flung through the air and slammed into a large rock. The young dog was killed easily by such an impact. The grizzly was still furious and enraged by this barking by Stallis. He made a rush at him next.
Nightcrawler
The young wolf picked up the scent of bear, but also the scent of collie. Hearing the barking, Nightcrawler decided to see what all the rucus was. He slipped quietly across the snow-covered terrain until he could see the huge grizzly. With a quick glance about, the young wolf knew what had happened, for the most part. While he normally kept to himself since he was separated from his pack, Nightcrawler didn't want to see this young collie getting killed. Without a snarl or growl, the black wolf rushed from his hiding spot. He launched his lithe body up at the bear, and tried to latch his fangs into the bear's skin, on the back of his neck.
Stallis
The young collie was shocked to see how powerful the bear was. While fear told him to run, a terribly fury drove him to attack this bear again. Uttering a ragious snarl, the collie lept at the bear, trying to get a hold on his arm while avoiding the deadly swing.
*Bear*
Enraged by the annoying pain to his neck and arm, the bear began to fight madly. He swung the arm Stallis had a hold of hard enough to fling the collie from it. When the dog hit the ground, he sustained a broken hind leg. Then the bear shook until he swung the light Nightcrawler until he was in reach of the claws. The bear swung a large paw and raked the wolf across the side, hard enough to tear the skin and break two ribs.
Nightcrawler
With a yelp he released his hold of the bear and fell to the ground. Despite the sudden pain to his side, Nightcrawler scrambled up and sprinted a short distance away. He glanced to Stallis, but couldn't yet tell if the collie was injured. By the looks of it though, he must be. Nightcrawler looked to the bear and decided it would do no good to attack him again, so he spoke quickly to Stallis, "Run from here, or this bear will kill you!" He himself was about to flee, but he didn't want to leave the younger canine here if he was too injured to get away.
Stallis
Stallis staggers to his feet, but gives a small howl of pain when he finds out that his hind leg was broken. He didn't want to leave his sister, although he knew it was too late, "Masenas..." he whimpered. "No, I can't leave! My sister..." he sais his last words, almost in a pleading way as he looked to Nightcrawler.
*Bear*
The bear was in no mood to wait around on these foolish canines. With an angry roar, he rushed forward again, towards Stallis.
Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler sprung forward, but stumbled and nearly fell when the pain seized his side. With holding a yelp of pain, he held his balance and rushed towards Stallis. He took the younger canine by the scruff and tried to toss him into the brush and out of the bears way. Then he sprung aside to avoid the bear's charge. Again he spoke in an urgent voice, "Run! Staying here will do no more good!"
Stallis
He gave another yelp as he hit the ground, and quickly stood up, waivering on three legs, "Get away from me!" he snarled defensively at Nightcrawler. It wasn't realy that he was mad at this wolf, but he didn't want to accept his sister's death and leave her here. But fear was coming back to him again when the bear rushed. Waivering uncertainly at first, the collie then turned and limped away at a quick pace.
Nightcrawler
He was taken aback by Stallis' aggression and didn't know what to say. But the foolish collie was on his way. "Ungrateful creature." he mumbled under his breath as he fleed from the area and the angry grizzly.
