*Sarah*

The teen slowed down to a walk as she came onto one of the paths. She paused a moment to look around, then turned to her new pet, "Isn't it great out here? Dad says we're going to camp for two more weeks here! Then you'll get to see your new home!" Soon, she began to walk to the trail, continuing to talk to Silent Snow.

Silent Snow

*she was hardly listining as the white demoness looked around her and smelled. she almost went after a squirell but stayed close to the teen. she had saved her so she had to stay with her.*

*Sarah*

Sarah went on talking, thinking that Silent Snow was listening to every word. "...and I bet you'll be the most loyal pet! Spunky was a good pet, you know... but, well, you know how it goes." she chatted on. After a moment, she stopped and took the leash off Silent Snow's collar, trusting that she'd stay nearby. It was a big risk for her to take, but she trusted her new pet. Sarah picked up a stick then and tossed it, "Go fetch!" she commanded, wondering if Silent Snow knew what that meant.

Silent Snow

*watching the stick fly the hybrid trtted after it and started sniffing it. she grabbed it and started to chew it as she walked back. plopping her self down at sarahs feet she broke it in half she gave a half to sarah but kept the other half for herself thinking it was food.*

*Sarah*

She laughed at Silent Snow's antics as she picked up the half of the stick. "Good job, Snow! Now... oh, looky there!" she said suddenly, looking intently towards a tree a few hundered yards away. A young black bear was clinging to a pine tree and hadn't yet noticed the teen or Silent Snow.

Silent Snow

*looking where she pointed colorless huntress woofed a hello to the young black bear.*

*Sarah & Bear*

Sarah took a few steps closer, but was still a good distance away from the bear, "Wow, I've never seen a little bear before! Have you?"

The bear turned his head quickly and spotted the two. He clung motionless to the tree at first until he realized that they had already found him, so he might as well move. "W-who are y-you?" he asked, a bit scared at first. But, even as he asked, he began to scoot down the tree.

Silent Snow

i'm silent snow and this is sarah.her family is camping here. they took me from the dog pound. its so much better out of the cage

*Sara & Bear*

"Oh, look Snow! He's coming over here!" Sarah said excitedly, but didn't move.

Sure enough, the bear cub had scooted down to the ground and began to pad over to the two. He was about half the size of Silent Snow. "I'm Bramble. I've never heard of the dog pound or the cage before. What are those places like?" By now, the cub was only a few yards from the two, and moving closer.

Silent Snow

where humans put you when they take you from previos homes. its for dogs and cats. a cage is where they hold you. its really small for a hybrid my size.

*Sara & Bear*

Sara was very excited now to see that the bear had come right up to them. She reached out to pet its head.

The bear pulled back at first, startled. Then he put his nose forward and sniffed at her hand, then licked it. "Hhhmm, doens't sound like a good place." Bramble concluded after returning his attention to Silent Snow. "So you're a hybrid? I'm a Black Bear. My momma told me about dogs and wolves before, but I've never seen one. Have you?" He questioned, then rambled on, "I bet my momma will want to meet you! Here, let me call for her." The cub called out loudly. By this time, he was just about nose-to-nose with Silent Snow as he talked to her.

Silent Snow

if your mother attacks sarah though she will get it from me. its not a good place either. and yes i'm a hybrid and proud

*Sara & Bear*

The bear frowned a moment, "What do you mean 'get it'." he didn't understand her words as a threat; he hadn't really experienced anything bad in his short life yet, so he assumed everything was good. "My momma is awfully nice! She feeds me, plays with me, and protect me. She wouldn't harm a little fly!" The cub continued. He had seen his mother foraging for roots, berries, and other plants. He didn't see the animals she killed and ate, though. Very soon, his mother would be coming.

Sara smiled, "Oh, he's so cute! I wonder if we can't keep him? It doesn't look like he's got a mom around." She spoke outloud and stepped closer to the bear to stroke his head.

Silent Snow

never mind you might find out. *she looked to sarah and barked trying to tell her* of course you can't keep him he has a mom and is totally wild. unlike me

*Sara & Bears*

Sara laughed and patted Silent Snow's head, "Do agree too, Snow? It would be so fun to have a little bear live with us!" She mistook the hybrid's barks of warning for barks of excitement. She never had a dog before, so she couldn't tell the difference from one bark to another.

The bear frowned a minute, "Never mind? But I'm curious!" He backed away from Sara's touch then and shook his head. Suddenly there came the sound of branches cracking and plants being roughly trampled. A throaty roar followed and a large black bear could be seen storming out of the woods towards the three.

Silent Snow

*the female instinctivly leapt infront of sarah and knocked her down. she stood over her ready to fight for her.*

Sara & *Bears*

Sara fell to the ground with a terrified scream.

The mother bear saw the human and hybrid standing close to her cub; two species that rarely got along with her kind. Wolves, she knew, killed black bear cubs and even adults now and then. And humans! They were crafty killers, and relentless at it, too. These things she kept strongly in mind as she charged Sara and Silent Snow. Giving a powerful roar, she thundered down on the hybrid and swung a huge paw that would send her to the ground if she got hit by it.

The cub turned and quickly raced across the ground, then climbed up the nearest tree.

Silent Snow

*she knew this might happen and as the paw swang at her she latched onwith her tteth. she hoped sarah had the brains to get her butt moving out of here. holding on tight she bit hard. she wasn't here to kil anyone or anything. she was civilized. but now her wolf instincs took over. she growled through her clenched teeth.*

Sara & *Bears*

The bear roared out in pain as the teeth pierced her skin. But the urge to protect her cub was so strong she would gladly give up her life to save him. She swung her other paw down at Silent Snow so hard that she tore the hybrid's grasp from her paw and sent her tumbling to the ground. Now she charged at Silent Snow.

Sara screamed so loud that the bear cub pulled his ears back. "Snow! Oh, you're going to get killed!" she cried as she began to back off. She wanted to run, but she didn't want to leave her friend behind.

Silent Snow

*she yelped as she hit the ground but stood back up growlign and snarling showing her fangs. instincts came through her hybrid veins. she backed up and kept pushing sarah away. she had to go get help. she would hold off the bear herself.*

Sara & *Bears*

Sara finally decides to turn and run. She stops once to look back at Silent Snow, then continues to run until she is out of sight.

If Silent Snow wasn't there, the mother bear would have chased the girl down. But this hybrid posed much more of a threat to her cub. Again, she reared back up on her hind legs and roared, "I'll kill you if you come any closer to my cub!" Landing her front paws on the ground with a thud, she charged at Silent Snow once again.

Silent Snow

*she stayed silent as snow as she leapt as the tiger charged. she lunged for neck but feinted and went to the side and leapt trying to get on the bears back where she couldn't get touched by the bears mighty paws and malicuius teeth.*

*Bears*

The large she-bear didn't posses the speed and agility of the hybrid, although her strength was far surpassing. The sow swung her paws and just grazed then across Silent Snow's side as she feigned the attack at her neck. She was unable to stop the hybrid from reaching her back though. "You're really asking for it now!" she roared out in a deafening tone. The bear tried to reach back and bite at Silent Snow, but couldn't reach.

Silent Snow

your asking for it *she growled through clenched teeth as she hung on for her life on the sows neck. she bit down hard knowing she couldn't kill her instantly. her ruff was to thick. her shoulder stained with a light crimson from the scratch.*

*Bears*

She shook and shook, trying to throw the wolf off as she bit deeper. She could feel the fangs dig into the powerful muscles in her neck and a slight fear came to her. But still she was controlled by an overwhemling urge to protect her cub at all costs. "You'll regret this, I promise!" she roared again, still trying to shake the wolf off. There were two different vital veins in the back of the neck, near the shoulder. If Silent Snow were to bite deeper and thrash her head, she might strike one of the life-giving veins.

The cub watched from his perch in the tree, wide-eyed.

Silent Snow

* she wasn't going to kill the sow for she had a cub. but with the sow thrashing her head she finnally lost her grip and flung into a tree. yelping she landed on the gorund her sight spinning around her.*

*Bears* & *Collie*

The sow spun around where she heard the hybrid hit the tree and yelp. She charged across the ground and kept up her merciless assualt. Before Silent Snow could regain her senses, the she-bear swung out a paw once more and struck her across the side, leaving long gashes and rolling the canine acros the ground. The bear was about to swing her paw again when she suddenly cried out in pain and wheeled around. A collie had appeared and sunk his fangs into her hind leg.

Before she could hit him, he bounced back and snapped his fangs in a warning. He dashed a few feet away and the sow followed him, ready to tear him to shreds. The collie evaded her attack and sprung at her side and bit again. Roaring once more, she swung her paws and snapped her jaws as she tried to catch the lithe dog. But he always dodged her lumbering blows and countered with a stinging bite of his own everytime. It wasn't long before the sow had many wounds over her body and was growing tired. The collie kept up his swift attack.

Silent Snow

*not even making a sound as the long scratch came upon her and she rolled getting dirt in the large cut she couldn't tell wich way was up and which way was down.*

*Bears & Collie*

The swift-footed collie continued his dazzeling fight until the utterly exhausted sow backed down. Covered in wounds from the dog's teeth, she retreated to the tree her cub was in to make a stand. When the collie paid no further attention to her, the sow called her cub from the tree and the two hurried off.

Panting from the fight but otherwise miraculously untouched, the collie padded cautiously towards the dazed hybrid. "You alright?" he questioned, although it was obvious she wasn't in the best of shape. "You should teach your human to stay clear of bears. They are very dangerous." he stated in a grave tone. His sister had been killed by a grizzly in the park when they had gone off to explore. Never returning home, this collie lived off trash and hand-outs from tourists. He was now experienced in dealing with bears.

Silent Snow

*still a bit dazed and confused by the ordeal she regained her normal ways and stood up as quikly as possable* its not my fault she's curious. thanks for saving me. i'm Snow as sarah calls me but my real names silent snow.

*Collie*

"No problem. It's nice to meet you, Silent Snow." The collie replied, but failed to state his name. "Would your master, uh, Sara, right? Would she give me some food?" He questioned, tilted his head a bit to the side.

Stallis

He pulled an ear back, a bit embarrassed he forgot to mention it. "Sorry, my name is Stallis. Where do your humans live?"

Silent Snow

they are camping at the camp grounds. it is nice to meet you stallice. come on i'll show you. *she wagged her tail and turned towards the camp grounds and moved off at a trot.*

Stallis

He nodded and followed happily after her, hanging his brushy tail out. After being on his own for so long, it was nice to find someone to talk with.
