Fiona

The darkly colored tabby stopped in the dense timberline as she looked back to the pack she had been leading from Down Town, "Let me have a look first. No need to stir up human attention with you guys prancing around in the open." It was just turning dusk now, and the shadows were beginning to grow long across the land. Under the sickly yellow glow of artificial lighting, the tabby departed from the wood's edge and headed swiftly across open ground. Eyes wide and ears flicking to every noise, Fiona skirted the edge of the nearest building before slipping past the corner and coming into view of the kennels. Staying to the shadows as best as she could, the cat moved along the length of the sidewalk, peering briefly in at each cage to inspect the occupant. It wasn't long before she caught sight of Desmon, with the tell-tale bandage around his side.

Cutting out of the shadow and into the flood of light from overhead bulbs, Fiona dashed towards the kennel and gave a low, soft chuff to get the youngster's attention. Her fur carried the slight scent of the youngster's pack on it, and by now, their presence might have gone detected as the wind carried it across the complex.

Ankh & Desmon

Impatient to retrieve his son, but understanding that this bold tabby probably knew more than he did, Ankh reluctantly remained behind in the forest. With an uneasy sigh, he crouched down in what remained of fall's foliage and watched intently as Fiona slunk away.

Desmon nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard the noise. He was so use to hearing barks, howls, and the like that he wasn't prepared to hear the cat's voice- let alone right next to him. Eyes wide and ears back, he turned around and looked at the tabby uncertainly. It was then that he detected the scent of his family, and his heart began to race even faster. The end of his tail wagged as well, though he dared not let his hopes get to high. "F-fam... famileh?" It was the best he could produce, though he was able to get the words out better than before.

Niavo

He eased down next to Ankh, looking intently to where Fiona was headed. "Don't worry, we'll get him back." The alpha spoke quietly, hoping to ensure his fellow betas, even though there was no telling what might happen next. At least night was dawning on them, giving the pack better cover.

Karai

Desmon's voice roused her from an uneasy slumber, ears perked to catch the words. Famileh...family? The words brought her to a stand, and she came near to his fencing, voice soft. Family, Des? Is your family here? She spotted the cat without too much trouble, voice still soft. Friend of yours?

Desmon

His tail was wagging now as he looked from Fiona to Karai. About to speak, Desmon thought better of it, and instead nodded his head furiously to confirm her question. Well, he didn't actually know this cat, but it would take too many words to explain that. All that mattered was that his family was very nearby. The youngster peered into the darkness, straining to see where they might be hiding, but alas, they were out of sight. Unable to contain his excitement and anxiety, Des pranced his front paws and waited expectantly to see Ankh and Snowy Owl.

Fiona

She narrowed her eyes in confusion at first, thrown off by his akward speech. But, seeing as he was in the paws of humans, the feline assumed it was their doings somehow. "Your family is here, yes. But you must keep quiet. Now..." She looked to Karai, seeing that this female must know Desmon somehow, if only because their cages were next to each other. In any case, she wasn't lunging at the fence or barking her head. "When do the humans feed you?"

Karai

The sweet-hearted female smiled at Desmon, glad to see the forlorn pup so happy. The cat's question surprised her, but she answered anyway, tones soft. They come with food right before sundown, and again directly after sunup. She had an idea of what the cat had in mind, being semi-shrewd herself, and knew that the feeding-time was essential to their escape.

Fiona

Looking skyward briefly, Fiona turned her eyes back to Karai. "I've come a bit late then. No matter- we can wait till the morning feeding. Humans seem sluggish in the early hours anyway." She pointed out, eyeing the locks on the kennels as she tried to figure out how this would all work.

"You aren't part of the escape plan, but perhaps I could work you in?" The initial escape only involved Des, but Fiona was all for making allies when ever possible. And as she noted previously, this wolf seemed to be sensible. "It would be easy enough for me to pounce on a human after they've opened the pup's cage, but they'd be wise to me by the second attempt." Fiona paused, looking at Karai again as she thought, "Do you have friends in the Valley? Non-canine ones?" Sometimes, it worked to have a mass of canines attack a place during an escape attempt, but it always threw the two-leggers for a loop when some different animal was in the scene. You can very well expect a dog or wolf to attack you here, but you don't expect a cat to come pouncing down on your head, right? That sort of twist usually takes the humans longer to comprehend and react too, as simple as the attack may be.

Ying

"I do." The voice came from the other side of Karai as the male continued to pace. Black, white, black white, black white. What color was this wolf? The male kept turning directions, making him appear two toned. Well, actually he is. Half of Ying is black, the other white. Fire orange eyes stare directly at Fiona. "At the Lake, there is a shark named Havfeera, but shes not going to be able to help right now. Theres a horse that I know as well, Al Sheratan. She is known for aiding those in need. Or a cougar named Ghost Walker. Ah...-still pacing, rambling now- My sister. But...Shes not much help. Brother, Yang. No, he won't help. To soft, to scared. Ah...Cats. Cats....Accck haven't been here long...." Was he crazy? Well, no. But the male had never been near humans, never had them touch him. Hell, before now he had never known what fear was and now he was filled with it. "Dog, wolf, horse, bird. Cat. Cat." He nodded his head. "Cats are good, protecters of Hell. Many fear them, for they are such fierce protecters unlike the dog. Canis Lupis, wolf. Guardians. Hell. Fear. Ugh." When Karai hadn't recognized him at first, thats when he had known true fear. His friend....His only friend didn't know who he was. How could a person do that? Power. Power was everything. "We take their power, we take everything. Theres others. So many others." Now he didn't even know what he was talking about but thats ok. Thats all ok. He could do this. He could do anything.

I'm Trapped In A World Of Hate. Now Its To late

Fiona

Sitting back on her haunches, Fiona listened to the next speaker with a raised eye. "So what, I'm busting you out as well?" The black tabby, molted slightly with tans and creams, shook her head in dismay. "Alright, but no more... just you three." she conceeded, unable to draw her mustard-green eyes from the strange pelt of Ying. "The shark won't work, but a horse... now that's something interesting. A cougar would be good, and birds... excellent! Where can I find them?" Her mind began to churn now, trying to devise some elaborate plan to rescue all three of these canids.

Ying

"Birds...Birds. Disaster, hes at the ruins. Falcon, hawk. Hes a Harris Hawk. Sheratan, just go to the prarie. Shes always at the prarie. The cougar, Ghost. Hes...Hes at the Silver Glades." HE continued his pacing, panting slightly. "Tell them Ying sent you. They'll know. Ghost Walker, he'll be the hardest to convince, he tried to eat me." He licked his lips, and panted again. He hated the confinements. It bugged him, got under his skin that he couldn't run.

Fiona

She wasn't terribly familiar with the wildlands of the Valley, but she knew a few toms she could ask. Committing the names and memories to location, she nodded to Ying, "I will do what I can to find them." Fiona was silent a moment, giving the strange-colored wolf a long look. He was interesting, that's for sure. "You three mind your actions while I'm gone; hopefully I'll be back before sunup, and with a plan." She knew that each new day here could be their last, so it was vital that she be quick. And Ying, he was slated for death very soon at the hands of the humans, thanks to his pelt. With one last look at the trio, she headed away into the darkness.

Karai

The silver fae cursed in her mind as the cat headed away, wishing that she had thought to tell Fiona about Zhener. Her sepia-winged friend would have been surprising, and he could have brought the pack with him. But Ying's distracted, terrible pacing and obvious disturbance frightened her, and she came to the fence between them, brushing her body along the fencing, her voice a murmur for his ears alone.

Easy, love. If word reaches Al Sheratan, word will reach my pack, and all my family will come in their numbers. My children are undoubtedly already on the search for me, and Darkeyes, Liseli, and Eytan will rally the troops as well. She smiled softly, a little reminiscent. One advantage to a sweet temper, my dear, is that you have many who are willing to save you.

Ying

His laughter was short at her words. "Aye, Dove. Sheratan, she is a good friend. She helped me get out of a net....Don't ask how I got into it. For a horse though, shes pretty small." With Karais words, he began to calm. There was something about her that made him relax. "Your pack....Who are they?" He had never lived in a loving pack, but he knew that his sister and brother would come. Well, at least his brother would. He wouldn't be much help though....

Karai

She relaxed significantly as his pacing grew less erratic, and smiled softly. My pack? We are widespread, they and I. My children, Moon Spirit, Azul, Zev, Elena, and all their little ones. They are one of my packs. Eytan's fostering pack is where I lay may head at night, but Sedge Creek will always be home.

Her smile was a little sad, thinking of them. Moon Spirit was supposed to be having pups. Had she had them already? Did the pack even know she was missing? Did they care?

She shook her head. Alright enough of that. Pull yourself together, miss. Above all else, Moon Spirit and Azul most definitely DO care. You're letting the situation get to you, and you ought to be ashamed.

Aloud to Ying, she only said, Well... there is naught to do but wait for morning, Ying. Dawn will shed new light on all things.

Karai and the Troops

Suddenly freed from the burden of the woman, Aderyn and Joscelin headed immediately inside, dodging in to find Saxton and Ziarre, who had already taken shelter in the indicated hovel. Saxton was bleeding a bit: the shot had lodged in the base of his tail, just inches from a crippling blow to the spine. Crouching all together, they waited for a new order that would give them some idea as to what they were helping Fiona to do.

Karai caught Ying's nod, but when he leapt for a second man, she did not hesitate. She let out a clearly audible growl and leapt for the man's legs. This would hopefully send him stumbling backward to steer him easily into Ying's attack, as well as distract him from the attack so he would be less likely to dodge.
