*Humans*

Two human hauled Rocky's limp body out and set him down in one of the large pens. They had given him a dose of anti-inflamitory drugs to help with the swelling for the surgery done so close to his spinal cord. But no pain killers were given, for Rocky's new master thought it best that he cope with the pain himself.

Rocky's neck would be undoubtably sore for a while, but the surgery had gone well and after the few days of healing, he should be ready for fighting again or to be set out for temporary freedom without risk of agrivating the operation sight very much.

Rocky Road

The massive hybrid was still asleep as they dragged him out and a while after he was dumped on the cold ground. But soon he showed some life. He slowly picked himself up with a growl, but soon realized he was alone. His growl ended with a grumble as he forced himself to a sitting position. A lot has happened in the last hours. Sores were all about his body still hurt, though all stopped bleeding, and made it painful to even move. But a new pain was there, in a place he did nto remember being beaten at. In the base of neck between his shoulder's it was. And it seemed to be on his spinal cord. He supposed they had done it while he was out. Though he did not know what it was or what it meant in later days, he tried not thinking about it. He looked around grogerily, things were distorted after a distance, but he could tell in was in a cage. He was happy it was not the crate again, but anything with bars never meant any good.

He groaned, the pain on his spine turning almost unbearable as the time passed. The once proud fighter laid back down, spralling out his limps. Eyes closed tightly, as if he didn't look at it everything would go all away, and he would be back in the mountains. It was strange he was missing such a thing as the mountains. Most in this case would be dreaming about being a suckling again, with their mother's warmth near by. But even those days were not good for him. Being born in a pit a long away from here it was always cold and damp. he sighed softly and opened his eyes, what was going to happen now?

*Ethan & Humans*

A sign had been hung in front of Rocky's door, labeling him as 'highly dangerous'. Meat was tossed over the high top and water was sprayed in into a bucket, hit or miss, by a hose. No one entered the cage although many stopped to stare and taunt him now and then.

A few days passed before Ethan returned; Rocky's owner, that is. He stood ominously in front of the cage, smirking at the hybrid inside. He knew how much money Rocky would bring to him. Now all that was left was to train him to some degree. Or at least figure out if this device worked. Ethan held a small controller in his hand with a knob on it; this controlled the voltage that device on his spine gave off.

Ethan watched Rocky Road with cruel eyes, waiting to see what the hybrid's reaction to him would be now. If Rocky showed any savage aggression towards him, Ethan would give him a good shock.

Rocky Road

The days had been uneventful, and he slowly healed. The sores were covered now, and smaller then they once were. His limp was gone now, and the sore on his neck did not bother him. Human taunting resulted in him banging against the fence, growling and barking for all he was worth. he ate the meat willing and the water he could get, sometimes even catching it in his mouth when it was sprayed. He knew he needed his energy and decided he should probably eat and drink, though it was human food.

Rocky was asleep when Ethan had come, ignoring him as if he was any other human. But soon he knew he was staring at him and he slowly got up, eyes drilling into his. he seemed happy about something, but he did not know what. he noticed the gadget, but ignored it since he did not know what it did. He walked over to the front of the cage, studing him carefully.

Nothing seemed to be different so he attacked the fence sperating them, jumping on it as high as he could. HIs teeth was shining brightly as he snarled and growled. He barked savagely at the man he learned to loathe, not knowing what damage this could do to him.

Ethan >[? His eyes narrowed, glinting heartlessly and still amusingly back at Rocky Road as he began his display. Not taking his eyes off of his fighter, Ethan quickly twisted the knob to send a jolting shock of electricity down the hybrid's body. Not the most powerful shock yet, but one that could send him to the ground none-the-less. And just as soon as Rocky would fall, Ethan would turn the knob back to the off position. But if Rocky were to jump again, Ethan would repeat the proceedure. He needed to teach Rocky not to attack him in order to handle him easier. Today, Rocky was going to be released.

Rocky Road

Usually humans backed off or laughed, but he just turned the knob. He was slightly curios but his mind was distracted soon enough. A shocking sensation traveled down his spine, and he instantly curved it in the pain. He landed heavily on the ground with a low grunt. The pain stopped but he laid there for a few moments afterwards, what was this? He stood up and stared at the man questionly, his fur on end from the shock. He growled again and bit the chain link fence, almost in a test. he needed to know what caused this indirect attack, is this what the lab men did to him?

*Ethan*

"Now, now, none of that." Ethan murmured in a chuckle. As soon as Rocky growled and bit the fence, his master turned the knob once more. He didn't use quite so high of voltage this time, but it would be plenty enough.

Rocky Road

Rocky's ears perked up as he spoke, his mind trying to figure out exactly what he was doing that caused the shock. He had always fought, to the pleasure of the humans as well, what was his problem? The man turned the knob again and he yelped softly as the shock returned. His back arched again, but he did not fall. As the shock came he closed his eyes and dropped hsi tail between his legs. he never felt anything like it, in one movement a whole wave of electricity carried down his spine.

It stopped and he looked back at his slavedriver, all the hatred in his face gone. He still hated him plenty, that was for sure, but this was sure strange and caught his curiosity. So whenever he showed aggression, he turned the knob. Well, I have to get the knob away from him was his first thought. But then a second one came, he was trying to train him. Get him to the point where he was in control and Rocky was the fighting machine. He growled again, never. He paced in front of the cage, but did not attack this time. But his eyes showed brightly again with hatred and his growling was sure present. Would that alone get him a shock?

*Ethan*

Ethan was content with Rocky's reactions. He watched carefully as his fighter paced, pleased with the growling actually. He liked the fact that Rocky seemed defiant against the strange pain, but it seemed that he had controlled himself from a frenzy of attacks that he could have expected out of some dogs in the same situation. Now was the real test. Ethan slowly opened the door, swinging it outwards so that it was between him and Rocky. The Lab was located a good distance from the human town and surrounded by wilderness, so Rocky was free to leave the place. But Ethan had his controller ready incase Rocky decided to attack.

Rocky Road

Rocky stopped and watched him open the door, what was the trick? When it was completely open he walked out, watching Ethan closely. He passed him at a jog, hackles raised but silent just in case he gave off any sign to show he was attacking.

He swerved around to face him a few yards away as soon as he was clear from any walls. He growled now, head over throat and putting himself in attacking position. His tail was raised high and he looked as if he was about to leap, but stopped when his eyes went over to the knob. With a snarl he whipped around and galloped to the forest, freedom in his eyes.

*Ethan*

Ethan stood tense, eyes narrowed and judging of Rocky Road's movements when he swerved around. But when the hybrid turned and headed away, Ethan relaxed a bit and called out, "I'll be seeing you." The man watched the figher's retreating form until it was obscured from sight. He headed for his truck and drove off, leaving Rocky to enjoy his freedom for a little while.
