*Humans & Wolf*
The wolfess was brought in, fighting or not, by the two men. She was forced near a metal table, then they hoisted her up, by the neck with the noose-pole, onto the table. It was enough to temporarily choke her, but that was it. Now they pinned her down by pressing the pole tightly against her neck. A muzzle was swiftly put over her jaws while three large straps, like seatbelts, were stretched over her body to hold her in place.
Two more humans came, a man and a woman. They began to talk to each other and touch her fur, seemingly very interested in it. After a few moments, they brought out a needle and took a bloodsample from her foreleg. Then they carried it off to be tested before the experiment began.
On a table nearby, a wolfess was strapped down much like Arya was. She too had a muzzle on. Her eyes were blazed with unspeakable fear as she lay there on the cold metal, not even trying to esacpe.
Arya
She hadn't gone in fighting, but she breathed haevily, a major sign that she was scared. When they choked her, she was really scared that she might die. Her breaths were long, rasping breaths, desperately wanting air. A muzzle was pulled on her face. Whoah, she though, What is this? She could still breath but her mouth was clamped shut. she whimpers as she feels her nody strapped down. She wriggles in it, as if to test it. Then she felt a pinch on her foreleg. She tensed up, but didn't whimper. Then she saw the wolfess. She sent a look over to her that said, "Calm down, I'm here to, we can go down together." Then she looked around.
Inside was cold. The air conditioner was turned on to high. Arya shivers with fear and the coldness. It reeked of humans, and of the sanitary spray the sprayed. Her next immeadiate thought was of Dakota. Did the humans find her? would she be there when she got back? The qusetions raced through her mind as she lay helpless on the table.
*Humans*
The wolfess caught the look, and tried to show the same through her eyes, but she was so afraid. She had been here for a little over two weeks, and heard countless horror stories about the canines here.
After several minutes, a scientist came in and nodded to the others. Simultaneously, masks were placed over the muzzles of Arya and the wolfess. An invisible gas escaped from the strange masks, and it would soon make the wolves fall to sleep.
The wolfess brought her head up suddenly, a whimper escaping her muzzle. She struggled violently against the straps that held her down. Even though she wasn't going to get free, the humans gave her a powerful thwack across the head with the noose pole that was used to bring Arya in. A muffled yelp sounded from her clamped muzzle and her ears laid flat. Soon enough, her eyes flickered and then grew dull as consiousness left her and the drugs kicked in.
Arya
Arya was really scared now. She shook nervously as the gas was placed over her nose. It made her sleepy. She looked at the dog and the violence the humans gave her. Arya remained still after that, even though fear was rippinng through her body. Then Arya grew especially sleepy and the conciousness left her...
*Humans*
After the two wolves were asleep, they went to work. A large square of skin, about 5 inches on each side, was removed from each creature from their right sides. An iridescent liquid was then smeared over the open wounds, and on the bottom sides of the removed skins.
Now the skin from the wolfess was placed over the skinless area on Arya's side. And vice versa; Arya's peice of skin was placed on the other wolfess. They carefully sewed up the tissue and placed tiny little tubes under the skin to help the injuries heal and allow any infection to get out. Each wolf was given an injection of antibiotics and then a strange vile of deep violet colored liquid near the site of their surgeries.
These scientics knew that, like in humans, organs and tissue could be transfered from one patient to the next as long as the body accepted the new flesh. And in some cases, it was possible to trick the body into accepting organs and tissue that it normally wouldn't take by various processes. In this case, they scientists had devolped two new serums that they hoped would bind the new peices of skin and get them to grow on a different body.
If all worked as planned, Arya would have a 5 by 5 inch peice of black fur adorning her side, which would remain there and grow normally as if it had always been a part of her. And the other wolf would have a 5 by 5 in peice of spotted fur on her side. If the experiment failed, the skins would die and have to be removed, leaving room for another experiment.
With surgery finished, the masks were removed and the wolves were allowed to wake up. A few scientists stood by to make sure the canines came out of the anesthesia alright. And then it would be back to the Mills to rest and see if the skins lived or not.
Arya
Arya groaned as she finally awoke. Something felt funny. She tried to get up, but then remembered where she was and stayed still. Her leg was a bit sore, but other than that she appeared fine. She breathes normally, but her vision was a bit blurry. She could barely make out the humans standing over her. She always had a hard time getting through the sleep things. She sighs as her vision was finally restored. She looks at the wolfess. Was she okay?
*Humans & Wolf*
Once they saw that Arya and the other wolf were waking up, the two were taken from their tables. Their muzzles were left on for this part, and they were taken outside.
