Kesa was brought in at the end of a noose-pole. She was lifted up onto a table by the pole and by her hind legs, where she couldn't turn around to bite at anyone. They infected her with mange; but this wasn't the ordinary type of mange. This had been modified to a certain degree, though the scientists didn't know just what this new mange would do. Apart from making Kesa's fur fall out, they hoped it would also cause ulsers in the skin and make muscles just below the skin become very stiff and painful. These cruel humans were trying to make this horrible ailment more deadly so it could be introduced into the wild wolf population to drastically reduce their numbers.

After being infected with this new mange, Kesa would yanked down off the table and led outside
