Silver Fyre & Caritha

Caritha was shivering and whining by the time Silver Fyre stopped, panting and exhausted herself, at the edge of the yard. Traveling with two young pups through the snow in the bitter cold of winter had not been ideal, but Silver had no choice if she wanted to get her daughter back to Ethan. She had pushed her luck as far as she could in keeping them in the Basement this long, and away from the prying eyes of the Haunters. It had been now or never, and in the quite winter morning, she'd made her daring 'escape' from the Haunters, carrying Cynical in her jaws most of the way, and occasionally setting her down to tote a tired Caritha before doubling back to get her.

Three long, arduous hours later, the black and silver wolfdog had finally made it. She wasn't sure how long she had until the Haunters figured out she was gone, and she dreaded how her mate would handle it, but she was doing what she thought was best for her daughter's survival. Setting Cynical on the ground, Silver Fyre howled softly and waited for Ethan or the hounds to answer her.

Aizen

Aizen hadn't let her out of his or momo sight he had noticed her agitation and wariness. However, he let her take them only to see if she would reconsider. But when she didn't he called to Momo and Quin leaving Quinn's brother to notify Senka and Terserk. Aizen was in pain of her betrayle he thought she had loved him but clearly not. As soon as she put the last pup down he motioned for Quinn and Momo to grab his two pups and he lunged to be in the way so Silver could do nothing.I loved you, I trusted you but you chose to betray me, my love. My children will not be raised by this filthy beast. I let him live, I told my father to just leave him alone as long as he didn't bother us. But now, now you have betrayed me. he said his body stiff. If Momo and Quinn had each pup he would signify for them to take them and leave. I will always love you silver but my pups come first and I don't know if I could trust you near them any more nor will the haunters likely to let you backHe said. He would die before this human got his hands on his pups.

Silver Fyre, Caritha, Ethan, & Carbon

Silver Fyre was startled to find Aizen and his family had followed her all this way, and in fear of her daughers' safety, she bristled her fur and allowed a rumble to hit her vocals, "Aizen!" Ruddy-red eyes flashed from her mate to Momo and Quinn, and that rumble turned into a warning snarl. If not for Aizen being in the way, she'd have lunged at either of them for daring to take her kids, "I do love you Aizen, but I also love our children and I can't risk Cynical being brought up in a pack that will constantly look down on her." She took several steps forward, and her gaze settled on Quinn, the one she knew was the meekest of the bunch, "Put her down now." Lips writhed back to expose her fangs, warning the younger Haunter that she'd use them if she had to. Momo was soon taken up in this warning glare as well, "I don't want to fight any of you, but I will if it means protecting my children. I don't want them to suffer as you have Momo, or Ursa. As a mother, can't risk that."

Little Caritha had no idea what was going on. She yelped as the other two wolves came rushing in, and instinctively curling up as Quinn grabbed her nape.

A baying howl rose from somewhere beyond the house, and was quickly joined by several other voices. Carbon, the current leader of Ethan's pack, was rallying his members. Inside the house, keen ears might hear the creak of heavy footsteps as Ethan too responded to Silver and Carbon's calls.

Aizen

Aizen growled at her moving to block her view.you don't take my children to a human period the end. Finding another wild pack would be better then this flea bags placeHe heard the howls and he snapped at his niece and sister.GO nowHe said. He would stay behind if he had to. He would subject himself to being caught again versus his children.

Quinn almost did but then her uncle snapped and she took off with the pup in her mouth along with her mother running hard and fast. Never traveling a straight line but zigging here and there leaping over things. They took a different route that they had come just to trick persuers.

Aizen watched the two take off.You do not have our kids well being in mind if you will subject them to tortureHe growled. The haunters are changing. She will not be looked down upon. I was never looked down upon and she may be missing her tail too but they seen how I am how strong I am they will train her up to be just as good as me where this human will just imprison her and take away her rightshe growled. Ever word hurt and the pain in his eyes was showing. His heart was racing too much. If he didn't calm down soon it may actually harm him even though he had no clue. But he was beginning to pant just from arguing with silver.

Silver Fyre, Caritha, Ethan, & Carbon

"Another pack? You know Tersek wouldn't have allowed that, they wouldn't have been safe. Ethan is the only place that's safe from the Haunters and the Makucha both." She looked past her mate then, and her voice rose in a vicious howl towards the fleeing Momo and Ursa, warning them again to stop and release her pups. To Aizen she spoke again, her words starting to get sharp as she watched Momo and Ursa disappear into the brush, "Do you think I'd take our pups somewhere where they'd get tortured? I know Ethan, and he would give them a better life than the miserable one your sisters have. It pains me to do it, but as a mother, I have to make the best decision for our children, and I won't let you stop me from that." She was about to shove past him, but his growling had become strangely labored, and it was just enough to give the wolfess pause. "Aizen, are you okay?"

Footsteps continued in the house, moving swiftly now. An anxious whinny came from the nearby barn where Harthouh was pacing in his stall, eager to get out. Carbon's baying grew stronger, louder - he and his pack were now rushing through the backyard, and would soon be rounding the corner to the front where Aizen and Silver Fyre stood.

Aizen

He snorted and laughed.they wouldn't be safe here either we killed a few of his fleas to free a horse not too long ago and we'll do it again to safe my pupsHe growled. He was panting as he spoke. His heart was racing a million miles an hour. He will give them nothing but slavery. My kids will grow up where they belong in the wild period the end I will die before that man lays a hand on themHe said. He knew the pups were far enough away now that even if she wanted to go after them she'd probably run into more teeth.By now my nephew has already alerted the rest of the pack. I told him to wait in hopes you would cherish your family our love but its past the time I told him to waitHe said as she asked him if he was okay is when his legs collapsed and he laid there on his side Panting.

Momo and quinn were long gone.

Silver Fyre, Caritha, Ethan, Carbon, & Others

"You don't know him like I do." Silver Fyre insisted, torn between being worried about her children, and concerned for her mate. "Your pride in the Haunters has blinded you, you're not as free as you believe you are under the paws of Senka and Tersek. I won't let them suffer like Ursa, wasting away in misery, day after day because of how she was born." She was growling again, defending her decision, and defiantly standing by the choice she thought was best. "Aizen, Ethan already knows..." Whatever she was going to say dropped into silence as one ear cocked back, followed by her head as she swung her muzzle around to the house.

The man in question was stepping out now, a faint jingle of keys sounding in his pocket, and a rifle strung from his pack. Immediately his eyes scanned the yard, double checking as he had just before stepping out that there were no predators past the treeline itself. "Silver, Aizen!" He barked their names with such authority that Silver's tail immediately dropped and she drew her head down, ears back in submission. "Come!" He didn't move from the door yet, and again his eyes darted out, away from his runaway hunters and towards the treeline, assuring he wouldn't be ambushed.

From around the corner of the house, Carbon, Blue, and Carrie came running. "Carbon, bay!" Another sharp command told the hounds what to do; this wasn't a kill mission yet, at least not for Silver Fyre and Aizen. They were to contain, and that's what the attempted as the three of them swarmed towards the pair, barking and snarling, and trying to put themselves between the hybrids and their escape into the forest.

Aizen

Aizen could barely stand at the moment. His ears were back.I am not blinded. Cynical is not in the same position as Ursa do not compare themHe growled. The haunters are better then a human any day. I get to do what ever I want as long as it doesn't go against the haunters. With your precious human i can't even hunt a deer on his lawn. I have to do entirely what he says even if its not what I want to do. I get attacked by the others or hit by him if I do something that he deems wrong. I am a puppet in his arms I will not let my children grow up that wayHe said. He watched the dogs coming this way. His tail up and stiff.and none of thos mangy curs will ever be my alphaHe growled. Then he collapsed without warning. His breathing labored.

Silver Fyre, Caritha, Ethan, & *Others*

Silver Fyre would have argued further, but Carbon and his two sisters were now surrounding them, snarling and barking at a deafening pitch. She almost tried to bolt past them, her heart aching to save her children, but Ethan's sharp command held her as certainly as a thick metal chain. She remained frozen where she was, unable to compel her limbs to move.

And then Aizen collapsed. "Aizen..?" Concern choked her voice. She moved closer to him, finding the courage to do this at least as Ethan was now striding towards them in long, powerful steps. The hounds scattered back, and she'd just reached her muzzle down to drop over Aizen's neck when Ethan reached for her, his fingers twisting harshly into her nape and pulling her up from the ground. She stifled a yelp and made little effort to break free of his grip as she was dragged back towards the house and shoved into one of the smaller pens.

"Look who's back, it's Tripod." Carbon commented, showing little concern for the wolf's labored breathing as he lay on the ground in clear distress. "It sure would be a shame if you took a snap at our master, and I had to put you down for good." The hound went on, while not even sure Aizen could hear him or not at this point. Either way, the King Hound remained next to the downed Haunter until Ethan returned, and like he did with Silver Fyre, he grabbed Aizen by the back of the nape and dragged him back to a separate pen in the backyard. There he knelt down, feeling for the wolf's pulse, and listening to his breathing to see if it was improving or not.

Aizen

When Ethan grabbed silver all he could muster was a snarl. His eyes following the male. He ignored carbon. His teeth were bared when he was grabbed and dragged. Slowly his breathing was returning to normal and his heart rate as well

Silver Fyre, Caritha, Ethan, & Others

Ethan remained crouched over Aizen, undeterred by the Haunter's growling or bared teeth. Normally, he'd have cuffed the wolfdog for daring such insolence, but he didn't care at the moment. Something was wrong with his ex-hound, and he was keen on keeping him alive right now. After a few minutes of close observation though, Aizen's breathing began to ease, and his heart seemed to slow to more normal levels. Satisfied that Aizen was out of the proverbial woods for the time being, Ethan stood and left the pen.

Silver Fyre poked her muzzle through one of the chain-links of her kennel, the one that bordered Aizen's cage. "Are you alright, Aizen?" She asked in a voice mixed with concern and exhaustion. Behind her, Silver's tail hung limp and defeated, her ears down and ignoring the baiting chatter of Carbon and his siblings.

A few minutes later, Ethan returned outside with a container of food. Reaching inside, he tossed a scoop full of kibble into each of their pens, and would later be back to fill their heated bowls with fresh water.

Aizen

He slowly sat up his breathing still labored but his heart seeming to return to normal. He glared at the kibble. As if he'd eat that horrible shit. Ill be alrighthe said softly. He was a bit torn even if his pups were safe from this man Silver wouldn't be able to return. When his pack came he would have to decide his own fate. No he wouldn't defend Ethen but could he sit back and let the haunters kill Silver no he wouldn't be able to do that. Could he leave Silver behind. IT would hurt but. he would do it for his pups if he had to.

Silver Fyre, Ethan, & Others

She raised a paw, placing it forlornly against the cold metal that separated them. Despite her fierce difference in beliefs of what she thought was best for their children, it didn't diminish her love for Aizen. She knew he felt just as fiercely that he was right, and was doing what was best for them. In this instance, it matter not if either was right or wrong - they were both stuck under Ethan's control, and there was little they could do in the meantime. So although her heart ached for her children, she focused on the canine a few feet away from her, her words having long since lost their snarling edge, "Are you sure? I've never seen you like that before." Her gaze turned down, to look at a freshly fallen flake of snow. Her eyes stung and she swallowed a heavy breath, not noticing as more flakes began to fall from the heavens. "Aizen, I'm sorry."

Aizen

He didn't know what happened. The fear that his pups would be raised by this man must of sent his heart into full blown panic. He ached to Kno we if they got back ok. "I'll be ok" he said now he also feared for silver because one thing haunters didn't accept was betrayal.. which means if they got free silver would be killed. But he couldn't deal with that.he heard her apology and just nodded

Silver Fyre

Silver Fyre sunk to the ground, letting her legs fold beneath her against the trampled straw and frozen earth of the pen's floor. She couldn't hold back a soft whine as she thought about her pups, looking once again to the now silent treeline, knowing her children were now far, far from her reach. With an anxious sigh that saw her sides of her cheeks puffing out, the wofless shifted her head, turning her forlorn gaze from the trees and settling it on Aizen.

She still wasn't assured that he was okay, even if he did appear to be breathing easier. Should she dare tell him what she knew of Ethan? Her brows bunched in worry, crinkling the front of her face as she wrestled with the chaotic, uncertain future that lay before their family now. Ultimately, Silver decided to keep quiet, at least for the time being - Aizen needed his rest, and she needed to figure out just how pissed off Ethan was and what he'd do to them when he got back from where he'd gone.

Aizen

Aizen sent up a long howl a wolf howl. Incase any haunters were near. I am fine are the pups safe?He asked.

Tracey was flying over when she heard the howl. When none were near she landed on the post. Hoping dally would stay out of site yet keep watch.aizen are you alright? She asks preening her feathers to make it look like she just landed here for the hell of it. She glanced at Silver but said nothing to her.. They are safe and your sister is caring for them in the safety of the ruinsShe said softly.. we will free you soon enough aizen but before I get caughtwithout word she took flight.

Silver Fyre & Dally

A short distance behind Tracey was Dally, coasting as low as he dared over the forest. The snowstorm was still raging, but the wind had slackened, and visibility was slightly better now than it had been when they set out. Still, it was difficult for Dally to see far, the thick snow limiting his otherwise exceptionally keen eyes. He ended up landing in a large pine near the edge of the yard, where he could just see the outline of the house and the nearby kennels where Aizen and Silver Fyre were being kept.

In the kennels, Silver Fyre immediately sat up upon Tracey's approach. Snow cascaded from her dark park as she pointed her nose upwards, looking critically towards the giant eagle. "Bringing the Haunters here will be their death." She warned, offering this wisdom with no snarl or malice. "You've bested Ethan twice, a third time... I don't think there will be a third time." She looked away from Tracey and away from Aizen, for although she felt some relief to know that the pups were at least somewhere safe, she knew it may not stay that way for long. "He knows where you live. He... he's likely the one that killed Duality and Narimbi."

Tracey

Tracey let her wings stretch. You understimate the haunters. We never leave behind a pack mate. We fight for our family. This time we may not let him live. We have more power then he doesShe said. and if he is their murderer all the better he deserves the death that will come to him She said.Stay safe AizenShe said and took off. She landed beside Dally. Both Aizen and Silver are locked in pens. I will keep an eye out here if you wish to fly backShe said.

Aizen listened to Tracey and then slightly growled.then it is time for this mangy two leggers death. if you thought he was the murder then I am ashamed to know you'dd willingly bring our children to the monster. I love you and that will never change but my pups come firsthe said. He watched Tracey take off.

Silver Fyre & Dally

"Good idea." Dally said, whilst looking in the direction of the pens. The snow was still falling with gusto, making it difficult for him to see much yet, so he was thankful Tracey had swooped in for the closer look. "Hang tight, and watch out for his boomstick." Diving from his perch, the peregrine cut swiftly through the storm, heading back to the Ruins.

"MB" Meanwhile, back in the pens, Silver Fyre was done with growling and snarling. She spoke with resigned sorrow instead, her ears often falling back as she discussed her master, "The one he shot those years ago, when you rescued Darkia? Her pelt... it still hangs in the barn, a trophy of his. If one of our children strayed as adults in front of his path, they wouldn't be safe. But as pups, if we introduce them to him, he'd protect them.. in his own way." She knew it wasn't ideal, but to Silver, it was the best option they had. And in her mind, better than risking it with the Haunters where she still feared Cynical would be bullied.

Aizen

He snorted "he does not never will" he then snorted "he will never know my pups. My pups will know better then to go near two leggers" he said. We will kill him the moment we get the chance" he said.
