Tom & Dan
After pulling into the driveway, Tom and Dan hauled the cage off of the truck and set it down on the gravel. The whole way there, both men worried over the pups, and hoped that Ben's two hadn't been damaged by Dan's little plunder.
Not about to stick their hands in to face the wrath of Aleu, the two crouched down in front of the cage and tried to inspect the pups from there. They'd wait until Ethan got back before they dared mess with separating the two pups from Aleu.
The half-deaf little male was jarred by the drop, but had managed not to get smashed by his mother. He stayed up against his mother, full after nursing and quite tired.
Aleu & *Pups*
The wolf had been relaxed, to an extent, before the men had lifted the cage. She couldn't be sure, but she practically felt that Dan had thrown them all about on purpose. Aleu had managed to not crush any of the pups in the fall, but she had stepped on the tiny little paw of the lightest male. He gave a high-pitched squeak in consternation, then pushed himself in close against his mother, falling asleep rather quickly. The little black female just fell right to asleep after finishing her nursing as well, sandwhiched in between the three males.
As the men crouched in front of her cage, Aleu turned her head to face the, pulling back her lips in a nasty snarl. Fur bristling, she curled tighter around the four little balls of fur, eyes narrowed sharply, watching Dan and Ethan with fury. She'd decided that she hated them all, hated them both, and would gladly rid the world of them, given a chance. She wished Neva was here, for though she didn't know the pitbull very well, she seemed pleasant. Perhaps Tommy was here...
Danny, Tom, Ethan, & Tommy
While the two man crouched in front of the cage and spoke to each other, a familiar face appeared. With Danny sent to Ethan's old house in town, Tommy got a reprieve from his confinement and was allowed to roam around a bit on his own. Albiet, with a tracking chip and shock collar, but it was better than nothing.
As Danny scowled at Aleu, Tommy padded up silently behind the two men, peeking his head from behind their broad frames to get a look at the wolfess and her... er, their pups. It was odd to think of it like that...
Before Tommy could figure out what to do, or what to say, Ethan arrived. He strolled over to the cage with a nose-pole in his hand. The three men spoke briefly to each other before Ethan jabbed the pole through the bars of the cage and attempted to get the mother around the neck...
Tommy was startled by the sudden movement, though it was nothing terribly unexpected. For a moment, he was compelled to rush forward and snap at the man in order to protect Aleu and the pups. Wait, where the heck did that come from? He hadn't know Aleu for that long, but still... Ultimately, Tommy slunk off to the side a bit and just stood there, head down but eye watching. He could not defy his masters.
