.aleu
several months had now passed since the ivory lupine had first been put in the kennel she now inhabited. each passing day had done nothing to lull her into domesticity- in fact, if anything, she was far more bitter. aleu's wounds had healed, her bruises no longer tender. she still walked with stiffness, but she'd adapted to it. it no longer bothered her... a small dirt path had been worn around the ring of the kennel, from the wolf's long days spent pacing, back and forth. but now she lay in the back, a rather p.o.ed look on her face. her abdomen was noticeably swollen, and her pregnancy was finally revealed to the world. sheesh- she wasn't very happy about it. being pregnant, and having pups, would hinder any further escape plans-- at least for awhile. with a sigh, she lay her head on her paws, staring at the kennel door, nearly willing a human to come by, give her some fun.
Tommy & Pickett
Tommy had sense been placed back in his usual pen, much to his disappointment. On a brighter note, Ben and Ethan did take him out hunting more, but he was always put back in the kennel straight afterwards. During one of these days, when the weather was beginning to warm up a bit more, Tommy sauntered towards Aleu's side of the fence, "So, uh... you, uh... ever had pups before?" It was something of an akward situation for Tommy. Half of him wanted to be a good father, but half of him had to deal with the reality situation. He had no control over what happened to the pups when they were born, he held no role with feeding them, couldn't protect them... nothing.
Just as he tried to speak with Aleu, a younger, somewhat stocky man appeared from the other end of the kennels. "Uh-oh, he's here." Tommy mumbled, seeing Danny draw closer. "And he's got his eyes on us..." Dan hadn't been around the cabin much, for he wasn't really needed. But now, as the months began to get a bit warmer, he'd be needed to help train the animals and keep things tidy.
The man stopped in front of Aleu's pen, leaning forward and placing on hand on the wiring. "Those whelps ought to fetch a fair price for us." He said aloud, seeing how large the wolf's midsection had become. For the moment, he didn't seem all to threatening.
Tommy narrowed his eyes a bit, glancing from Aleu to Dan, "If only he'd rest those fingers on my side of the fence..." He commented gruffly, seeing as how the man's fingers were within reach of Aleu's fangs, if she so chose to leap up and have at 'em.
.aleu
aleu heard the light sound of footsteps, and she turned to look at tommy. in a way, she did sort of miss the comraderie they'd developed, but in the same breath... she needed space. especially now. as he awkwardly asked her his, ah, question, aleu rolled her eyes slightly. nope. this'll be a first. she said smoothly, muttering, and hopefully last. just as the pallid wolfess was about to make another sarcastic remark, tommy mummbled something. who... aleu questioned as she lifted her head, suddenly catching sigh of the stocky man. a wry chuckle left her, and she slowly got up, stretching out. the wolf watched him place his hand on the fence, and a wicked little plan formed in her mind. slowly, oh so slowly, she made her way towards the fencing, sometimes stopping. she didn't want him to truly get a sense of what she was doing... with a yawn, she sat back on her haunches about two feet from the fencing, pretending to ignore Dan. clacking her jaw shut, she suddenly spun about nimbly (well, as nimbly as a pregnant wolf can!) and lunged for the fencing. even if her snarling jaws didn't catch onto his meaty fingers, the force of her large body against the fencing could cause some pain... she might even catch his fingers in the wiring, which could break them, quite easily.
