Venus
Cougaress snarled as she entered the lands, the pain was ever increasing. She had been wounded at the Breve ridges as she had killed a mare but had been injured while doing so. If she was attacked now she wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight. She collapsed on the ground as her side was hurting. She had two broken ribs and was severly cut down her side. Crimson liquid gushed out of the wound. She let out a feeble roar as she didn't have the energy to release a proper one. Claws were withdrawn and fangs were too. She was helpless and needed some care badly...
Starlit Eyes
The ebony-pelted hybrid resonded quickly to the attempted roar. Her master was very busy at the moment, with two injured wolves needing urgent attention, and two pups waiting for treatment in the Back Yard. So Starlit took it upon herself to check on this new arrival. Padded cautiously closer to the cougar, she could tell that Venus wouldn't be much of a threat to her, and more importantly, to the Lady. "My master will be with you as soon as she can. She is very busy at the moment." Starlit explained, keeping her distance from the feline. But hoping to pass the time with Venus, so as it might draw her attention away from waiting and maybe some of the pain, Starlit went on, "What happened?"
Venus
She growled as the hybird came towards her but couldn't do anything to stop it. She bared her fangs trying to intimidate it but it wouldn't work she was too weak. She heard the hybird speek and turned her radars to listen. She replyed, no expression or emotions in her voice.
I was attacking a mare to feed on and as i was doing so her hooves hit my side. I don't know whats wrong but it really hurts.
She tryed to lick the crimson liquid that was streaming from her side but couldn't as the pain from her broken ribs was too much for her. She turned back to hybid. No expression was on her face. She lay down, pain slicing through her body. She hissed, angry that he pain would not stop.
Starlit Eyes
Starlit glanced at the cougar's side. "Breath easy and don't move." She advised, trying to remember all she could about such injuries. She had never beeing kicked like that by a horse, but she could imagine how it must hurt. "You must promise not to harm my master, alright? And she will heal and feed you."
Venus
The cougaress listened and growled deeply.
I couldn't attack her even if i wanted to.
She winced as the pain increased. The blood had started to dry but still it continued to flow. She thrashed her tail angrily and let out a low growl. She lay down and closed her optics. Breathing deeply through her craters she kept her radars alert for any noises. The pain continued to ripple through her bodice.
I'm sorry for all the growling but my side hurts so much. I don't know whats wrong but i can hardly move.
Lady & Starlit Eyes
Starlit sighed, "I understand. Just hang on a bit longer, I'm sure she won't be long." And indeed, it wasn't much longer before the lady showed up.
Blood still stained her hands and parts of her clothes where she had worked to help two wounded wolves just moments before. Rushing outside with her medical kit in hand, the lady drew nearer to Venus. She was very hesitant though, for she had never treated a cougar. Or at least a wild one, anyway.
But she was prepared. Seeing that Venus seemed too wounded to move much, the lady pulled a small, hollow tube from her medical kit. She stuff a tiny dart in it. Getting close to the cougar, but still out of her striking range, the lady blew quick and sharp into the tube. The dart shot out soundlessly and struck the cougar in the shoulder, stinging with no more pain than a bee. Venus would fall to sleep in a few minutes. In the mean time, the lady got ready to back off if Venus found enough strength to attack.
Venus
The cougaress growled and began to get up as she felt a sharp pain in he shoulder. She stood for a moment hissing, thrashing her tail before she slowly began to sway. Optics closed as the cougaress felt the effects of the drug. She fell to her side, asleep. Blood still streamed down her side.
Lady & Starlit Eyes
The lady went to work quickly. The wound was bleeding well enough to wash out any invading contaminents, so she wasn't too worried about cleaning the gash. Her first task was to carefully stitch up the flesh and stop it from bleeding. Once that was accomplished, she sprayed the area with a strong-smelling chemical that would last for several days, helping to ward off infection. She could not wrap a bandage around the cougaress to cover the wound, being as heavy as the cat was, so the chemical spray would have to suffice.
From the looks of the wound, she knew it was not caused by another predator's bite or scratch. It was a more clean cut. And as she felt around, the lady detected the two broken ribs. Now she knew the injury came from some sort of blow; most likely a hooved animal striking her during a hunt. The lady listened to her lungs and found them to be good. It didn't sound like they had been punctured, which was a very good thing, for that would have requirred surgery.
She could do nothing for broken ribs though, which had to heal on their own. But she could help with the pain. The lady gave Venus a shot of pain medication that would work for several hours to dull the terrible ache away. Yet Venus also needed to rest, or she risked damaging her side more before it was able to heal. To hopefully entice the cougar to stick around the farm for a while, the lady laid a bowl of meat near her for when she woke up, as well as a bowl of water. And as long as she stayed around, the lady would continue to feed her.
Starlit Eyes waited until Venus was asleep before she headed away.
Venus
The cougaress continued to sleep for quite some time. She woke to find the pain had eased and she smelt of some sort of chemical. She saw the meat and began to eat and drink.
