Fajebin
The snowy male slunk into the area, eyes searching for Starlit. He'd left far too soon after being reunited with Starlit far too many times. He felt terrible, but things always seemed to come up. He wished to do something to really show how much he cared but he had no clue what. His only skill was hunting humans and their livestock, but he knew that did not impress Starlit. She loved her humans, and he would not harm them while in Starlit's sight.
Ditaren
The first canine that Fajebin came across was not Starlit Eyes, but her son Ditaren. The steely gray hybrid was not so open minded as his mother or sister, mostly thanks to the horror stories he'd heard from the various mega-packs in the Valley. Not to mention the stories he heard about the 'Legendaries', including Fajebin himself. "What do you want?" Ditaren stood up from his resting area near the house's air conditioning unit and turned his pale gray eyes on the white wolf when he dared enter the yard. He'd surely get chastised for behaving this way to Fajebin later, but for now... he'd speak his mind while he could.
Fajebin
The snowy lupe saw the young male, eyeing him for a moment before realzing who is was. It was the same pup from his last, and oh too short, visit to see Starlit. If he wasn't mistaken, it was her son, although he couldn't say he was exactly happy it hadn't been with him. Still, he had no say in that matter as he still had yet to share his true feelings for Starlit. As the male confronted him, Fajebin just continued past him, lifting his tail. He almost didn't give him an answer, but at the last second he decided it was better to answer than for the pup to try and attack him for being a threat. Not that he wasn't a threat, just that, as long as Starlit was around, he would not harm her humans. "I'm looking for your mother"
Starlit Eyes & Others
Ditaren wanted more than anything to have a decent reason to drive this male off, having already branded the wolf as a threat and someone undeserving of his mother's affections. But just as Fajebin had to play 'nice' around here, so too did Ditarn. Grudgingly, he held back any blatant aggression towards the elder brute, and returned a response in terse words, "She's not here, so you can go away-"
"Taren..." The drawn out rumble of his name caused the hybrid to flatten his ears and look meekly the direction of his mother's voice. "Behave yourself, son." After giving him a reprimanding look, the black-coated femme switched her eyes to Fajebin, smiling softly as she stepped through the screen door and leaped lightly off the porch. "Greetings, stranger." It was a gentle tease from Starlit, who didn't hesitate to pad straight up to the brute and give him a brief nuzzle.
Fajebin
Fajebin was growing annoyed with the young males stalling and was about to point out the fact that his mothers scent over powered the area and that there was no doubt she was here. Luckily he didn't need to lose his temper as Starlit appeared to stop the young things nonsense. He smiled at her when their eyes met and matched her nuzzle with one of his own. He inhaled her scent, taking in the sweet smell. When he finally composed himself once more he spoke. "It's been a long time. Too long" He nuzzled her softly once more. "I cannot say how sorry I am for disappearing on you." His golden eyes fell to the earth, feeling ashamed at leaving Starlit.
Starlit Eyes & Others
Starlit shook her head, dismissing his apologies as she spoke softly, "All that matters is that you're here now." The hybrid ignored the underbreath huff from her son, aside from flicking an ear back in his direction as a signal that he needed to watch himself. When she heard Ditaren turn and stalk away, Starlit went on again, letting her ears fall back just a little, "Things have been very quiet around here for the past year or so, but lately... I'm afraid trouble is heading our way again." Light, wolfish eyes lifted to look into Fajebin's, "The Valley's animals are growing more restless, and I... I hope that you can stay this time." Her features were soft, and a gentle sway from her tail conveyed the message that she was not upset for him disappearing; lonely, yes, but she held nothing against him.
Fajebin
The white male moved in closer to Starlit, feeling her sad emotions wash over him. Although she was not upset with him, he was angry at himself for allowing her to become so lonely. He wished nothing more than to stay by her side, if only he could garentee he would not have to leave again. "
I hope I stay can too."
He would not promise her anything, as much as he wished he could. But to make up for his lack of a promise, he wished he could leave a piece of himself here. Incase he did disapear again, she could remember him and feel that he was near.
Starlit Eyes & Others
Starlit's tail continued to whisk from side to slide, moving in a slow and steady pace as she stood contently by his side. Her nose twitched a little, taking in the brute's familiar scent as a way of relaxing her and reassuring herself that Fajebin was really here again.
"You should see the new guests we have." The hybrid wanted to move away from the talks of his disappearances, and onto something more light-hearted, "Four strange cubs - I'm not sure where exactly they came from, but they're quite the handful."
Fajebin
The snowy male understood Starlit's quick change of topic as a diversion from the unpleasent and so he avoided speaking of it again. Instead he listened intently to the fae mention new cubs, which he was curious about. They brought on the thought that he was deffinetly not getting younger, and though he still had a side that enjoyed the freedom of not having to worry about small pups running underfoot, another part of him wished he had someone he could teach. He knew Starlit had two pups of her own from a male he did not care to ask about, but they were now full grown, and they were not his. His mind wrapped around the idea of asking Starlit, the only female he'd ever taken a liking to, about the topic of pups, but he could not simply bring himself to ask outright. He felt the need to be tactful, or at least try.
"I'm sure they are. I hope they haven't ruined your enjoyment of youngsters at least."
Starlit Eyes
A low, soft chuckle came from the hybrid as she shook her head, "Oh no, I don't think I could ever grow weary of youngsters. They have a way of keeping your spirit young." Unwittingly giving the green light to the fact that she still adored pups, and younglings of any type for that matter, Starlit felt a sort of contentment wash over her that she hadn't felt in a long time. Of course, her view on pups and his own were understandably different - Starlit had a secure area to settle in, and needn't worry so much about the traveling aspect and the inherent dangers that Fajebin did, with his devious ways. "And what of you? I have to apologize again for my son's behavior... having offspring of your own is a blessing, but it does come with its fair share of.. frustration."
Fajebin
"Your son has his reasons I'm sure." He was really just trying to seem like he didn't mind. In reality, what ever reason the young male had for disliking him, Fajebin could care less, he would still fight and kill the male if he tried to make his feelings too well known.
"I've never had any of my own though...pups I mean. So I don't know..." If he had been human he would be blushing about now, turning away so his eyes were not on the fae. For the human killer he was, he really wasn't as bold when it came to really stating anything.
Starlit Eyes
Without commented any more on her son, aside for nodding her head and giving one of those sighs that hinted at frustration at the young male's antics, Starlit moved on to the latter topic with an ease that Fajebin couldn't muster. "I imagine it would be a little difficult, with the traveling." Starlit offered softly, her curiosity peeking as she picked up on something on the male that wasn't all together confident. "But if you've got a place to call home, it really isn't all that bad. It's hard to explain the joy that comes with them... there's simply nothing like having your own little ones running around underfoot."
