Jake/Eli
Jake drove the jeep back to the Farm once more. This time, he had another with him.
A severely wounded man sat in the passenger seat. He had wolf bite marks all over himself. "So...How long have you been here?" He asked, still suffering amnesia.
Jake looked at Eli as he stopped the vehicle. "Few days, maybe a week." He replied. He stepped out and yelled, "Hey! If you're not too busy, could we get some help over here? This dude's been attacked by wolves!"
Nicole was a ways off with Shadin and Fox, still helping the horse.
The black Thoroughbred soon came to the farm, auds swiveling. His legs were weak from blood loss and just plain moving too much. There were holes pokes into his front side, along with many cuts, all of which had some kind of dried blood from them, which was all dribbled down his black coat. One stream had even crossed down the white diamond on his chest, marking in it crimson. Feeling a kind of faint suddenly, the horse simply had to lay down again. Infection had begun to settle in because of his wounds, all of which were from barbed wire. A day or two ago, he had somehow jumped right into a pile of it when he still lived at the racing farm, during a harsh thunderstorm. Lucky for him, Eli had been there to get it off him. But now it was all backfiring. Bending at his knees and hocks again, he lowered down in a more neat fashion than before, and pushed off weakly onto his side. He was wiped out, tired, full of pain and anguish. In need of help, most of all.
Nicole sighed in relief when they arrived at the Farm. She sat down next to Shadin, stroking his face.
Fox looked at the group of strangers and began barking. It was not the 'get off of my property' bark; it was more of a 'come help us' bark.
Nicole had no knowledge of a vet anywhere nearby. She did all she could to comfort Shadin, which wasn't much. Fox sat down by the horse. "It shouldn't be long now." He said. "But I don't see how all those humans can just not notice an injured horse."
Nicole stood up. "Can anyone point me in the direction of the vet?" She called as loud as she could.
A dark hand sent a signal, and an albino dog curled in front of Conan and Raimi as Freya made her way toward Nicole and Fox. She eyed them coldly, but it was nothing personal. NO, she was always cold to anyone she didn't know. But she let her voice come, and it was peaceable enough. The only vet in these parts is an empty building. What do you need?
Nicole smiled and looked at Freya. "I am sorry to bother you. This horse has cuts all over his front end." She pointed out the wounds from the barbed wire. Thankfully, the wire had already been removed. "I'm just afraid that they might get infected. The horse is already weak as it is."
The mahogany eyes met Nicole's, weighing her, measuring her... and finally, she let out a sigh, and turned about, grabbing up her pack as she came toward them. Her eyes were definitely on the horse, though. Being a Blue Trader, she had never been around horses very much, and a strange horse was, in her mind, a dangerous horse.
But she rummaged through the bag, coming up with a green jar with a crimson tie: an anti-inflammatory mixed with an antibiotic to keep out infection. She handed this to Nicole, voice soft. Two fingers' worth, swab on twice a day until they heal. Short, sweet, to the point. Nothing personal...
Nicole took the medication from Freya. "Thank you very much." She said gratefully. She looked down at Fox and Shadin. Fox could use a meal right about now, and the horse could probably go for the same. She then looked back at Freya. "Well, I'll let you get back to your business now. Thanks for the help." She nodded, then opened the jar and applied the ointment. After this was done, she gently urged Shadin to get up. "Come on, boy. Let's get you into the stable." She said softly.
Fox watched the horse. "You'll like our home. The stable is nice, and there's plenty of room to roam in the wilderness." He said excitedly, waiting for Shadin to stand.
The black stallion was lying there without a single movement, other than the slightly rushed rise and fall of his sides as he breathed. He was feeling weak, even too weak to think. All he knew was that there couldn't be much for him if he wasn't healed in time.
Suddenly, his auds flickered as the new human came over. He was wanting to feel wary, keep himself from further harm, but she seemed to be okay if the other humans were fine. Yet still, he was feeling a bit... Woozy.
His watched them a moment longer out of the corner of his eye, wondering what they were doing. He knew it had to be something about him, and once Nicole began applying the medicine, his muscles lost their tension and he eased up a bit. When that was finished, he heard her strange words again, and simply had to try to stand. So then, putting his legs out from under him, he eased himself up onto his hooves. He was a bit hunched it seemed, but his legs were still achy and his knees and hocks seemed to lock together, but he faught against them to stay up.
Finally becoming comfortable there, he lifted his dial high and looked around. All he gave the dog was a light snort. Indeed, he was joyed at getting himself a new home so quick, but how would it go for him this time?
Nicole smiled when Shadin stood up. She did not touch him, but slowly walked away and clicked her tongue. "Here, boy. Let's go home now." She said softly.
Fox wagged his tail and followed, looking back now and then to make sure the stallion was following.
