Koda
Lupine hid in the woods, watching the lady that so many lupines trusted, and left healed, and strong once more. Two of her legs were quite mangled, her underbelly torn quite well, and if she knew what it was, a minor concussion. Ice blue eyes looked out of the darkness, emitting a small howl she entered into the land of the lady. Cringing slightly, and limping from the fresh wound she stared at the door. Pleading yips were sent to the house, and she waited patiently for the Lady.
Lady
The lady, almost always close at hand to help her patients, was quick to answer the call. The door soon opened and the lady looked down to see the new face. She spoke some words that were as friendly sounding as they were sympathetic; even her body stance and face expressed these things. Always cautious of new canines, the old lady eased the screen door open slowly and reached her hand out to see if Koda would allow her to be touched on the head. If not, the lady would have to resort to hiding a sedative in a piece of meat to feed to the wolf.
Koda
Koda felt a little unprotected. Her side tore open rather badly, a scar reopened. Her back legs both quite brutally wounded, and her head pounded. Because her dial was in such pain, she back away, soft growl emitted, but not threatening in the least. She was to weak to be going around threatening people. Soft gaze was set upon the lady, knowing she was going to help her, but she couldn't understand the pain.
Lady
She pulled her hand back once it was obvious to her that Koda didn't want to be touched. In the lady's mind, she thought Koda knew she could receive help here, but wasn't willing to be coddled by any human; which the lady could certainly understand. Another thing that came to her mind was the fact the Koda was a wanted wolf, and therefore she probably didn't have good relations with any human she's met so far.
In any case, the lady disappeared inside for a moment and came back with a small bit a food with a sedative tucked inside. She felt it was too risky to try and sedate the wolf with a needle, and she knew Koda must be sedated for her wounds to be treated. So now the old lady placed the meat near Koda to see if she would eat it. All the while, she spook to the wolfess with friendly yet sympathetic-sounding words.
Koda
It was the food that she and her friends had so wanted to eat there at the Barn. She would have to return soon, whether she was fully healed or not. Jaws opened to produce a yawn, and her body fell to the ground, it was much more comfortable that way. Gorging herself, ivories sinking in to the tasteful meat, whatever it was, this two legger was a good one, the only one she could, and would trust. But another thing came to mind, she must know about John, and so might be cautious, but that was ok as long as she wasn't turned in right? If this lady helped wolves, she must have helped many wanted wolves. But whatever the case Koda has finished her meal. Oral muscle slipped out clean her maw of the blood, but she slowly felt a tightening grip that made her tired. Already she was exhausted, and with these to features pulling at her, she was soon asleep.
Lady
The lady went to work straight away after retrieving her little medical kit. She cleaned the wounds on the back legs and stomach first, then quickly stitched the deepest ones to further keep out infection and promote healing. She could easily tell the injuries came from another canine, which worried her. More and more wolves and hybrid had been showing up from such wounds. As she began to bandage the legs, she thought about something. This was defiantly a wanted wolf; fourth on the list. Not only had she known this from the newspaper which frequently posted troublesome wolves, but she had talked with those at the Ranch who have had trouble with wolves. They had even mentioned one that went 'wild' on them. Of course, she listened to their stories with an innocent sympathy, knowing that many of the wanted wolves ended up at her place.
As she finished bandaging the wounds, she couldn't shake the dread that hung in her mind. It was bad enough that two of her pets had attacked people; but what would happen once it was discovered that she helped wild, wanted wolves? She just convinced herself that she'd keep a lookout. If anyone came by, she'd have to do her best to move all the injured wolves into the barn. But for now, Koda was fine resting in front of the house. The temperature and weather were mild, and Koda's injuries weren't life threatening. Satisfied that she had patched Koda up as best as she could, the lady fetched two bowls as she usually did. One was filled with meat and one was filled with water. Then she returned inside to let the wolf wake up. Now and then she peeked through the window to make sure all was well.
Koda
Koda has sensed something wrong outside of her dream world, but it didn't seem to matter as she dreamt of a wonder world where there were no nasty two leggers to make them follow their rules. But this one was kinder than the others, she would be nice to have around, and so the picture of the lady appeared, before her dream world slowly pieced apart. Curtains opened to reveal to the canine, two small bowls. Cerebrum lifted, and so did her side to show a small bite wound, and she began to clean it. Looking back to notice some bandages, she growled lowly, not sure if she liked the feeling. Sighing though, she began to feed on the meat, then lap up the water like a puppy. Glancing up to see the Lady at some points casually look up to watch for something. This made her shift with a slight nervousness, and she remained alert, and wary because of this.
Starlit Eyes & Lady
The hybrid slowly padded over towards Koda, holding her tail and head up enough to show she was dominant; at least around the Woodland Farm. Other than her dominant stance, Starlit showed no signs of aggression. She had picked up on the wolf's scent and come to make sure all was well. Being her master's guardian, she had to be sure no one would hurt the lady.
"I see my master has already tended to you." Starlit spoke, eyeing the bandages casually before turning her gaze to Koda's.
Koda
It was just regular for her now, hybrids meant fight, and fight meant life or death. Right now Koda was not going to die, she had suffered too much to die, and a soft growl was given. Hunter struggled to get up, from her point of view if they were to fight, it would be a one-sided battle. She let the other show her dominance, but kept her guard up, struggling to stay aloft on all fours. Plume was held at not a submitting height, but also not one to challenge. Growling she turned to rip at the annoying bandages, knowing she would come to no avail, but it was comforting to do so anyway. One honey orb would at times drift back to check on the hybrid, before fully worrying herself into turning forward once more. Somewhat surprised as she spoke, not to comfort, but also not to show any signs a fight would commence. To attack an injured wolven was a show of weakness. Heavy sigh was given, and a reply was emitted. "Yes, but why are there straps on me? I don't like it." Tone was flat as she announced her opinion, but kept up her guard, still not sure if this canine was one to trust.
Starlit Eyes
Starlit became more wary as she watched Koda's reaction, but she wasn't all too surprised by it. She had learned long ago it was best not to be too forceful with most of the canines who came here, lest she provoke them to defend themselves.
A bit relieve with Koda's reply, yet still cautious with her demeanor, the hybrid replied, "They are just to help your wounds heal. They will fall off with time." She didn't know exactly what they were for, but had concluded they were administered with larger injuries, so they must have something to do with healing them. She didn't understand the concept of infections, so she didn't apply that thought to explain the bandages. Her master was her primary concern and the reason she had come to check on Koda, so Starlit spoke again, "To be sure, you didn't harm my master, did you? Anyone who brings threat to her won't receive her help." Starlit was the one who made that rule and enforced it loyally.
Koda
Her frame became for tightened, although it strained the muscles that had already been used too much, she tried her best. Plume now curved in a way to show no fright, but might give the impression of dominance. Position shifted to allow her legs the rest they needed, as the hybrid briefly explained the bandages. Her gaze was switched back to the window as the Lady made one of her regular trips to the window to check if anyone was coming. Hackles began to rose, this canine to her, was posing a threat to her. Baritones were released, and the wolven spoke. "I have been helped haven't I? And with her frequent movements, do you suspect any harm has come to her?" She hadn't really answered the question, but in her mind, a stupid question deserved no answer, or a stupid one. Grumbling, she laid down again, dial up and alert, still wary and it slithered back to protect her vitals from this one.
Starlit Eyes
Her tail was now held rigidly in its dominant position as she forced herself not to comment directly on Koda's raised tail. With narrowed eyes that clearly displayed her agitation, the hybrid spoke in a heated tone, "Well then, if any harm does come to her, it won't go unpunished." After a moment's pause, Starlit added something else, "And there are to be no quarrels with anyone else here, for I don't want anything to upset my master." Starlit had much trouble in the past with wolves fighting each other here, and was determined to stop that if all possible.
Koda
Her plume had been placed along the ground to rest it, but still the hybrids was held in a high position. It was almost as if she was trying to be the alpha of the House. But the house was owned by the Lady, and she was also this dog’s master. Grumbling, she wouldn't harm the Lady, she was the only two-legger that could be trusted. Others either want to kill her, capture her, or use her in fights, like Jewel is. And then another statement comes, and also gets a reply, "I don't think I am in the right shape to cause, or join in any quarrels, do you?" Settling herself to wait on the reply, before another grunt was given. "I'm Koda."
Starlit Eyes
She relaxed her features slightly, except her stern and wary eyes. "Just making sure." She replied with a small sigh, relieved that Koda didn't have the intentions of fighting with anyone here. "I'm Starlit Eyes." She replied with a lighter tone, "You might also meet my friends, Flurry or Spark, who also live here." She doubted the little spaniel, Spark, would come out to greet a wolf, but she knew Flurry might.
Koda
Koda also relaxed, and began lapping up some more water that had been set out. They didn't know how they got her wounds, and she wasn't planning on telling, but it was rather obvious. Oral muscle slipped out to lick her chops, cleaning them still. It would take days to get rid of the stain that had formed, but it was something to take up time all the same. Flurry, or Spark. She knew neither of them, nor what they were. She barked a warning still, not to her, but about her friends, "I am sorry, but I am still very hungry, and if your friends are something that I consider food, instincts will pull me into attack. So are your friends something that me as a wolf would consider food?" She knew this was a bit harsh, but it was all too true. And now that they had come to an understanding, it would be a useless one if one of her friends fell to the hunter.
Starlit Eyes
She was fairly understanding of the question, and glad that it had been brought up as another thing came to her mind. "No, Flurry and Spark are canines. Flurry is a wolf and Spark is a dog; a small one." She glanced to the house then back to Koda, "You probably wont see Spark anyway. But there is another friend I must warn you about. Her name is Icelit, and she is something you would consider food. She's a white-tailed deer who comes here now and then, and seems to have lost her fear of humans and canines; she had been desperately sick for a long time... I suppose that might have something to do with explaining her lack of fear." Starlit didn't go into the details of the long story, mostly because she thought Koda wouldn't care to hear it. "Just to ensure no future troubles, don't attack any type of animal that come within the boundaries of my master's territory." Most of the boundaries were clearly defined where the forest abruptly ended and gave way to cleanly cut grass. And to back up that visual display, Starlit had long since marked the boarders with her own scent.
Koda
Koda was quite relieved to hear that her friends were not prey animals, but fellow canines. A curious gaze was set on her as she looked back at the house. Koda's gaze went over to the road as a truck rolled by. Lazily she shifted over to the other side to sun the opposite side. Then her words came out again. A white-tailed deer. She would have to explain. "The wolves just had a rather large famine, so best keep the deer away. I can make no promises there. This meat has only tickled the bottom of my stomach, I still have a lot more room for a lot bigger meal." She stood off, and padded slightly off away from the dish meal. Walking in very tight circles she curled up, curtains closed over her eyes to allow her to fall into a deep slumber.
Starlit Eyes
She watched the wolfess while she searched for the right words for a reply. She would make it clear that she expected no harm to Icelit, but she didn't want the message to come across as a direct threat; the last thing she needed was another fellow wolf to worry about as an enemy. Speaking cautiously, she tried to come across as nicely as she could, "Icelit will either be with me or Flurry when she is hear, and that will be enough to let you... and anyone else, not to attack her." Starlit still watched Koda, seeing what her reaction might be. But before she could add another sentence to her explanation, a familiar and threatening scent tainted her nose. "I'll be back." She said in a hurried voice and bounded off.
