Kachief

He was released into the exibit after a ten day quarintine. He glanced around and then charged out. He glanced around and began to explore and mark his terratory.

Claire Arron

Claire Arron watched as the male entered his new terra and began to claim it as his own. She wasn't sure about his past, nor his tolerance of humans. So to be safe, she first decided to greet him from behind the safety of the glass. Claire needed to build his trust in her, so that she could work hands on with the silverback.

The woman stood in front of the glass and tapped on it to get his attention.

Kachief

Hearing the tapping he turned.He was use to humans but tapping to him was a threat and he came charging the glass.When he reached it he sat on his back legs and roared hitting his chest.

Claire Arron

Claire quickly stepped away from the glass, lowering herself in the presence of the large male. She moved to a portion of the glass where there was a thick screen, that allowed the gorillas and humans to hear each other. "Hey, Kachief. You like your new home?" She talked smoothly and lightly, hoping to convey a peaceful message to the gorilla, and establish trust with him.

Kachief

He heard the weird sound and ran straight toward the screening and yet agian hit his chest.

Claire Arron

Claire took a few steps back, sighing sadly. If her words couldn't get to him yet, maybe she could use bribery. The lady walked away, but soon returned with a cup full of grapes. "How would you like some grapes, Kachief?" Using a key, she unlocked part of the screen. It was just large enough to pass her fingers through, and the grapes, of course. She pushed a few of the shiny purple berries through, hoping that Kachief would take interest.

Kachief

He hit his chest and then took one of the grapes in his fingers and sniff it and then eat it.

Claire Arron

"You like that, huh? I've got something else for you to try." She continued to speak while cutting up a banana into small peices. She pushed the peices through the slot where Kachief could reach them, "How about that?"

Kachief

He watched her curiously and watched the bannans he took them and ate them.He thne ran off and came running back with a twig and pushed it trhough the opening

Claire Arron

"Oh, something for me? That's very kind of you, Kachief." She said, her voice conveying gratitude and happiness. She took the twig and got an idea. Claire walked away, and soon came back with a jar of peanut butter. She smeared some on the outside of the opening, then pushed the twig back to Kachief. He'd have to use the twig to get at the peanut butter.
