Layra

Layra called to the pride it was time to hunt. She'd found a horse herd with one stallion two heavily pregnant mares and a buck. The stallion or buck would make a nice meal

Tuini, Little Tuft, Khala

The air was heavy with freezing mist this morning, and even with the sun beginning to scale the horizon it hadn't yet chased these ground-hugging clouds away. Their rocky home glistened with a million little ice crystals, as did each blade of brown grass and exposed surface. Frost clung to the whiskers of Tuini, and stubbornly refused to break away as he yawned and flexed them back. "Morning, sis. So you've found some potential food for us, eh?"

Little Tuft currently lay within the den, avoiding the cold mist outside. He'd grown leaner in the last few months, and his joints seemed to ache frequently now, especially his lame hind limb. He perked his ears at Layra's call and his belly grumbled, but he didn't have the energy to join them.

Sitting outside on the edge of the overhang was Khala. The falcon was coated in a fine layer of frost like Tuini, but with her feathers roused, she stayed comfortably warm in the still, frigid air. Like Tuft, her attention perked at the promise of food, but she would be of no use today in this weather. Keen as her eyes were, they couldn't pierce this mist.

Layra

They needed food and this would hopefully be promising. Yes a lone stallion with two pregnant mares and a buckShe said. I figured teh stallion or buck will be good for a mealShe said.

Tuini rose up and shook his mane, then approached Layra to give her an affectionate nudge along the cheek. "I wouldn't mind a good stretch of the limbs, and it's been a while since we've had horse." The lion dropped his front end into a leisurely stretch and shook his mane once more, "Deer wouldn't be bad either, though. Alright, lead the way. Khala, keep an eye on things here."

"I'll do my best." There may or may not be a note of casual sarcasm in her tones, due entirely to the fact that she couldn't see more than a few dozen yards in any direction right now. Switching to a more informative tenure, Khala added on, "Once the fog parts, I'll scout the area."

Little Tuft let his eyes close. He was tired this morning, and as much as he'd love to join his pride in a hunt, a long nap sounded much better.

Layra

Layra called to any able bodied member and then lead them toward sunset beach. They will of gone to this cute little cove area I think to withstand the bad weather. Probably thinking it safe for them. But I think it will proof to be their downfallShe said as she lead them.

Tuini, Little Tuft, Khala

"Sounds like you've done some good recon. Nice job, sis." Tuini rumbled pleasantly. He spared a look to Little Tuft, a little worried about his uncle, but he was safe enough in the den for now. The lion turned back around and padded after his sister, heading eagerly into the fog and towards the storm that was just now breaching the southwestern coast of the Valley.
