The Trickster; Sirena
It was often expected that a dangerous animal would be on the loose in Atroe City. It happened every day, according to reports, and the animals in Atroe City seemed to be a bit more tenacious than in other cities. But some people were just a bit complacent.
This was one of those days. The doors of the church were left open, a mass of people forming a line around tables of food. This was a potluck, a sort of indoor picnic. And it was a free meal for any nearby animals...such as The Trickster and Sirena.
The duo of bears sidled along the east wall of the church, noses sniffing the air. They thought they caught the scent of another animal, but all they were concerned with was the corned beef and other tasty snacks. Peering around the corner, they waited for the perfect moment...
Sundown
The Trickster and Sirena weren't the only ones to catch wind of the meal today. Sundown was also in the area when the delicious odors of human-cooked foods reached his broad muzzle. The hybrid cat had gotten increasingly brazen in the last year after breaking away from the ill-fated Ancient Guardians, and no longer waited for the sun to go down before he ventured closer to Atroe City.
Quietly, the large cat padded towards the church after slipping along a small patch of woodlands across the street. He was across the road in the blink of an eye, but before he was going to stroll into the open doors of the building, he saw the two bears and froze. His long tail lashed twice from side to side as he regarded them, immediately noting that he wouldn't stand a chance trying to drive them off; they were big, and there were two of him, where he was by himself. Well... maybe this could work out for all three of them. "You guys here for the food, or for the fun?"
The Trickster; Sirena
It seemed that the animals were either getting braver or dumber, or maybe a mix of both. But the fact that the animals often won their battles with humans suggested that they had strength to be proud of. Especially with the apparent increase in size and strength of Atroe City's animal inhabitants.
Padded feet set firmly on the ground, the bears sniffed the air in unison. They were hungry and their usual prey of deer was getting smarter. They could get a free meal here... even if it's a human.
Another scent drifted toward their noses; the smell of a big cat. The Trickster and Sirena were generally placid about other predators as long as they weren't causing any trouble for them. In fact, they had been known to team up with other top hunters in their pursuit for prey.
The Trickster grinned upon the hybrid cat's inquiry. "A little bit of both." The cinnamon bear chuckled, followed by his stomach rumbling, signaling that he was hungry.
Sirena's deep brown eyes were fixed on Sundown with a soft gaze; one that said that she wanted this to be a friendly interaction, but also that she didn't want any 'funny business.' "I'm Sirena, he's The Trickster." This was Sundown's cue to introduce himself. "Hey, care to join us, Mr. Big Cat?" When she smiled, her jagged, broken canine tooth was visible. A sort of disadvantage, some might say, but the sharp edges provided more tearing action.
