Jace Soloman

The boy's shoes crunched on the ground as he looked over at the bridge. Jace wasn't afraid of any silly gang members or naive shady characters. He was used to it all, everything bad was now dull to him, everything he used to have nightmares of soon became muted, pushed away on the sidelines. All of the memories of the past, which usually came to him in short, sharp bursts, were now fogged up and trapped in a wall of solitude. He soon stopped walking and leaned on a flickering lamppost, his hands reaching up and touching his eye, carressing the scar that signified his abuse. He then stared down at his hands, full of scratches and bruises, dangling Band-Aids and even a few blisters. Jace reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out gloves that still exposed his ivory fingers. As he slipped them on, he warily eyed the place and waited for something to lunge at him. If that happened, he would be ready. You see, a boy like Jace can have many, many hiding places on him. And one was in his sleeve. A glinting, silver dagger with a blood-red handle, almost waiting to defend its master.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly ran across the bridge from the gang members she had encountered. Not having anything on her, her only option was to run. Her high tops making noise as she ran. The two tank tops and tight, blue jeans she had on didnt have any effect on her running. As fast as she was, she was surprised when on of the three girls of the gang she had encountered jumped out from a hiding spot on the bridge making her jump she went around her and ran faster, the girl gang member chased after her. The gang members soon stopped and went away, now Lilly was breathing hard. What a run! She hadnt ran in a while. Her very light pale blue eyes looked around, trying to see if anyone was here or not. Her running slowed to a walk and she calmed her breathing. There had been six members she had encountered, three male and three female. They had all told her their names. The three guys were Kayne West, Taylor Filla, and Keith Holland. The three girls that was just chasing her were, S.N.O.W.Y Kiki, Diva Laron, and Double G Kill. When they offered her a spot and she had refused they had tried to get at her and she ran. Now that they were gone she kept looking around and soon her eyes locked on a guy that was leaned against a flickering lamppost. She decided to start walking towards him. Nothing in her hands at all.

Jace Soloman

He perked up as he saw S.N.O.W.Y chase a girl. Ah, he and S.N.O.W.Y had some good times together, but now the memories were all fixated with the others, discarded. She was from Kayne's gang, and he guessed that the girl refused to join him. Just like Jace had. He stood up fully and walked toward her, a smile alighting his face.

"Now, that, was a bold thing you just did, refusing Kayne."

He said, extending his hand in a greeting. The girls, he flirted with, but he usually didn't have many feelings for them. But this girl, with the lovely greyish eyes and the black hair, she might be different.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly looked at the guy and then his hand before shaking his hand with her own. Her black hair naturally falling over her shoulder, a bit poofed up from her running. Her eyes gleamed in the little light that came from the flickering lamppost. She smiled a little.

''Its not hard to refuse such a bastard as him. Or his little comrades''

She said. She looked behind her, Kanye and his little gang starting to walk up. Lilly turned around folding her arms. As Kanye walked passed them, going to the edge of the bridge and past it, his gang following. Diva Laron bumped her intentially and Lilly fought to keep herself under control. When they were gone she turned back around.

''Im Lillyann by the way, or just Lilly. Whats your name?''

Jace Soloman

He nodded in agreement, and he was about to say something, but he was interrupted by the gang coming. A glare shot past her, to the gang, as they walked.

"You guys had better watch it."

He warned them, exposing the silver steel of his knife and letting his gaze go straight at Kayne, anger burning in his brown eyes.

"You don't want another....Accident like last time, do you?"

He asked innocently. A smirk suddenly formed on his lips, and he turned back to Lillyann. He grasped her hand and shook it, then let go and leaned back against the post.

"I'm Jace."

Was all he said in reply as he slid the knife back into his sleeve.

Lillyann Sanchez

Kanye turned around and narrowed his eyes. ''Watch it Jace! I would hate to get the girls on you again. It would be a pity to watch you suffer while I let them beat Lillyann.'' he chuckled as Keith and Taylor walked over to Lilly walking around her before stopping back over by Kanye. The girls smirked. ''Oh come on Kanye, we'd do it right now if we could.'' S.N.O.W.Y. chuckled.

Lillyann stepped closer to Jace. Feeling a little unsafe but feeling some security by him. Her eyes blared at S.N.O.W.Y. and Diva and Double G. Clenching her fists and looked at Jace then back to Kanye

Jace put an innocent look at S.N.O.W.Y, and said,

"Have you already forgotten, Snow?"

That was his nickname for her, back when they were together. He smirked at him and stepped toward him, until they were nose to nose. Then, he promptly aimed a punch at his nose and also a kick to his knee. If he was lucky, the kick would make Kayne's knee go back and break, but just in case, he urged Lillyann to run and started to bolt, his knife--and many other weapons--at the ready.

Lillyann Sanchez

Snow looked at him, her eyes narrowed. ''Jacey you dont get it. That was when we were together and im not gonna let you hurt any of the gang you were the one who refused to join me and the gang to join me with Kanye.'' She said. Kanye dodged his kick but not his punch making his nose bleed he aimed a punch at Jace's stomach. Taylor and Diva went after Lilly as she bolted. Diva being slightly faster then Taylor, Lilly suddenly stopped and Diva went past almost falling off the bridge. Taylor kept running after Lilly as Lilly moved out of the way and watched Taylor run into Diva. She smirked and turned around, looking strait at S.N.O.W.Y. ''Oh come on S.N.O.W.Y. we both know you couldnt get me.'' she snickered and watched S.N.O.W.Y as she went to help Diva. Double G Kill was circling around Jace and Kanye, Double G tried to get at Jace from behind, if she did she'd hold his arms behind him. Keith was busy trying to get Lilly. Lilly kept running til she stepped to the side and stopped. It was so easy these people were like stupid!

Jace Soloman

He smirked and dodged the punch to his stomach, and then felt Double G hold his arms behind him. With a growl he broke free, trying to cut her hands with his hidden dagger, then ran faster, catching up with Lilly. He jumped into a bunch of bushes and hid, panting quietly.

"You okay?"

He asked, searching for wounds.

Lillyann Sanchez

Double G made an angry grunt as her hands were cut and were bleeding badly. Snow yelled after Jace as she checked Double G's hands ''Youll pay for this!'' she hollered. She looked at Diva, Taylor and Keith at least they didnt have any wounds. She put two bandages on Double G's hands. Then went to Kanye, letting him hold the piece of clothing to his nose and his head back.

Lilly nodded, breathing silently. ''Yeah. Im fine.'' she said looking at him. ''Are you ok?'' she asked looking in his eyes. Her breaths becoming more calm as she looked at his gloves. ''Can you take those off?''

He cursed back at them, then looked at Lillyann. He smiled at her gently.

"I'm fine."

He assured her, putting a hand on her shoulder. Then, he reluctantly exposed his scarred, partly-bandaged ivory hands. He reached out and patted her hand gently with one of them.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly looked at his hand. Then back up at him, noticing the scar for the first time.

''Are there more scars?''

She asked. Turning towards him, sitting and crossing her legs in a crise cross manner as she took his hand that he patted her own hand with. Running her fingers along the scars, looking at his jacket, scooting closer to him.

Jace Soloman

He winced as she took his hand, feeling the sharp pain they left.

"Yeah. There are plenty more."

He said, shrugging. Jace reached out to his eye again with the other hand, fingering the knife mark.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly flinched back a little when he winced.

''From what?''

When she realized she was trying to get to know him she looked down at his hand.

''You dont have to answer that if you dont want to.''

She said. Shivers a little at the slight breeze.

Jace Soloman

He looked away for a moment, and muttered to himself. Then, he looked back at her and merely shook his head.

"Here, you're cold."

He said, unzipping his coat and wrapping it around her. Even though it was leather, warmth was built up on the inside of it. He leaned forward a little, looking at his hand once more. Now he looked even paler than he did before, because now he only had a dark grey T-shirt instead of his jacket. He was always like this with girls. He started gentle, then he got more flirtacious with them.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lillann smiled a little, blushing slightly. She looked through the bushes of where they were hiding and watched at Kanye and his gang finally left. She put her arms into his jacket. She looked at him. Smiling a little.

''Their gone.'' she said and moved her bangs out of her eyes. Looking at him and moving closer, feeling the warmth in his jacket, she laid her head on his shoulder. ''Thank you.''

Jace

Jace felt a little awkward at this, but didn't stop her. He merely shrugged in reply, and put his gloves in his jeans pocket.

"They're idiots."

He said modestly. The demon inside of him was creeping out of his throat, and soon it would cover him completely. It was unknown as it prowled through his mind, twisting it. Then, it crawled into his heart and made it black and shriveled. Nothing could save Jace now. As he realized this, he quickly stood up, fear flashing in his eyes.

"I-I'll be right back."

He stammered, starting to run. The demon was now thrashing inside him, making his very soul rattle.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lillyann watched Jace before getting up and running after him before stopping. Sitting on the ground in the middle of the bridge. Looking to where he ran she pulled her knees up to her chest and her chin on her arms. Looking to where he ran off to.

''Jace!''

She yelled. Looking to where he disappeared. She sighed.

Jace

He lay down, a sick feeling washing over him. Gasping and choking, he began to cough up blood. Now his ivory face was even paler, and he slumped on his side.

"Lilly.."

He groaned weakly. You see, this was the demon that sucked on his life. The sickness that was consuming him.

Lillyann Sanchez

Hearing his faint voice she got up walking quickly turning to a run. When she reached him she saw the blood. She lifted his head, letting him lay his head on her leg.

''What do you want me to do?''

She asked not knowing what she was supposed to do. She could hear the rustling of steps in the bush nearby when Snow stepped out she glared at her. ''What do you want Snow?!'' she asked. Snow gulped. ''I want to help.'' Lilly shook head.

''We dont need your help.''

Jace

He was shaking terribly, blood dripping from his mouth. Yes, the demon was hurting him badly.

"Le-let her help."

He gasped, blindly touching Lilly's face.

"She's the only one who knows how."

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly glared at Snow before moving out of the way. Snow took her place. Thinking what she did last time help him. Lilly found herself with her guard up. Snow looked over at Lilly and reached into Jace's jacket pocket that Lilly was wearing and pulled out a vaccine shot. Lilly looked at her in wonder. Snow took his arm, folding up his sleave and giving him the shot. When she did she pulled it out when it was completely finished. Snow looked at him and kissed his cheek then looked at Lilly.

"Your welcome." she said before getting up and jogging off.

Lilly sat there her hand on Jace's side. Looking at him.

Jace

He glared at Snow, then his gaze settled on Lilly.

"I have a...disease."

He explained, rubbing the place where the shot was.

"It's hard to explain, but sometimes it makes my mind..."

He trailed off and sat up, grasping Lilly's hand.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly looked over at him, her face showing no emotion. She held on to his hand, not wanting to let go. Was she actually feeling something for him? She wasn't sure.

"Your mind.... what??"

She said. Looking at their hands together. She let go, she wasn't really used to people getting close to her, last time that had happened she ended up with a broken and shattered heart. She looked at him, her hadn't still resting on him only this time it was his knee. Lilly spoke again.

"Your scared the shit out of me just to let you know"

Jace

"It kinda makes me go insane. And it kinda makes me...evil."

He squeezed it gently and he frowned.

"Sorry. It usually chases people away when I tell them. It's not easy to say, 'Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, I have this rare disease that makes me go insane!'"

He said, shaking his head.

Lillyann Sanchez

Lilly looked at him, taking his hand again. "Jace Ive seen all different types of things over the years. Stuff like this doesnt usually bother me and it still doesn't."

She stood up and helped him up. "Come on, why don't we both go and stay somewhere safe for the night?" she said. She knew of a place downtown but it was mainly up to him.

Jace

He smiled softly and brushed off his jeans.

"All right."

He agreed, starting to walk.
