Dystriem

And so my journey begins, dearest. Don't get on my nerves or this'll be hell.
I didn't mean that as a threat my love, just a warning is all and well,
I'm new here so things might not go as I've planned, but not worries.
My temper is rather even right now, I've have yet to feel rage, and have yet to throw furies.

Did I scare you by that? I didn't mean to, honest.
It just is fun to make you all laugh, don't be shy, don't be modest.
We are to open ourselves, like our old masters did, and speak with elegance that others can't obtain.
But don't strain yourself we don't want you to cause yourself pain.

Move down the river edge, the water flowing ever faster.
My eyes keep watch on the clear liquid's master.
I've heard this place call Carver's Bridge
But where is Carver, maybe he jumped off his bridge.

Near it ever closer, I turn and look around for my pack mates who should follow.
Is this to be called a pack, I mean we were owned and they threw us out. How hollow.
A hollow heart is what we were born from, but hollow filled with beauty and grace.
Now lets make this our home, and teach others: Now we own this place.

Sparks

I stayed near the edge as I wandered along.
Don't get too close - don't fall in.
That's better; it's best to be safe.
Walking in the middle now.

I stopped before my old friend.
Not a sound was heard from me.
My eyes met his.
My tail was wagging.
My tongue lolled out.
I was happy.

Mikon

I realize this is a farmliar smell,
I look around and all is well.
My paws increase pace,
as if in a race,
With a lustful need
to find my fellow breed.

Crossing the bridge,
dangerous as a canyon's ridge,
approaching two dingos -
Well, I don't know your lingo!

My tail matches sync,
I can feel a familiar link,
Two long lost friends. . .
I thought we'd met our ends?

At first, I thought we were torn,
but now we are reborn.

Taquila

Traveling to this retched place,
A taunt frown upon my face;
I join with other's much like me,
All of us were forced to flee.

I look at faces, liked or not,
And they are the ones most sought.
All of them much like me,
'Cept the black one, though also free.

All of us same in race,
Forced to this most retched place.
I turn my eyes and look around
And I see nothing on these dirty grounds.

Yes, a river, stong and swift
That I go, I go to sniff.
I scent no markings, left by other dogs
But is that...? It might be a hog.

I turn now back to my fellow dingos,
And press upong them with my lingo:
"We are to inhabit this place?"
I say with a kind of false grace.

Inkaleii

Far from the naked paws of our Owner, and the links of chain that surrounded our home,
I keep my nose to the ground, seeking out scent or sound to which I can hone.
I always wanted freedom and space, but I find my heart so tight with fear!
Who would have guessed how much I loved my pack, and how I wish they were near?

An eye for detail was never my strong point, and my attention often strayed,
Perhaps when my pack moves on, I shouldn't have delayed.
Oh, but if you had seen how graceful that butterfly could sail!
Maybe if I could hold still long enough, she'd alight on my tail...

Ah, you see? I'm doing it again! Lost in my thoughts... I must get back on track!
My pace is quickened and my senses alert... can it be? Yes, my pack!
Tongue lolling and tawny tail hung low, I prance towards my friends, my body a-quiver.
My excitement is great, and I whine in pleasure... oh look, a river!

No, no, I must keep my thoughts in line! Isn't that what started this mess?
To show them my love, I use my tongue to give each a caress.
They are my life, my love, my family.
They are all that is so very dear to me.

---------------

My fur is of yellow and tan,
Carrying a few scars thanks to man.
With a touch of white upon my chest,
And on two front toes, but not the rest.
My eyes are as melted butter,
Never is my fur a-clutter.
Through joys and tears,
I've been here three years.
I don't know if I'd make a good pup-sitter,
But someday I'd love to whelp my own litter.

Dystriem

About I face to greet fellow dog,
Eyes somewhat alight, not clouded with fog.
My tail wags to them, my heart wants to race,
But a question is asked, and an answer I’ll grace.

Aye we are to live on this land,
or so my thought, and so was the plan.
That is if it comforts us most.
We could always move on and find different land host.

To the one who strayed behind, a smirk lit my cheek.
Falling behind again Inkalell?” Was all I would speak.
Then to the others again, my head held up high,
Should we stay in this land, or wait till 'nother pass by?

Flag wagging, I tried to show them a smile,
But something in me always made me so vile.
I was happy to see them, truly I was.
But why does smile want, and not does.

Sparks

I looked around at my friends.
They were golden - I was black.
But inside I was just like them.
Yes, this was a unique pack.

I was small compared to the other four,
But I made up for it with my speed.
I was 50 pounds, and no more.
But if we had a race I would likely take the lead.

"This place will do."
I said in a polite way.
The bridge to me was new,
But surely I would stay.

Mikon

My old pack,
they're all coming back!
I thought they were gone,
but that didn't last long.

They speak that here we will live,
unless we found another place one would give?
No, no, we should stay here,
separation, otherwise, is possible I fear.

"I like it here best,"
My tone was almost the sound of a jest.
"But the shelter and food,
is the availability good?
"
My worry was clear,
for our lives were dear,
they'd wither away,
If there were no sources where we would stay.

Taquila

Again, my eyes look around,
And again, I cannot help but frown.
This place is not worthy of me,
But it out of my hands, and to the powers that be.

I sigh in resignation,
Speak now I must of my decision.
"Tough it is shabby, I guess it must do."
I look to the sky, so clear and so blue.

I am not used to rouhing it,
I must admit,
My old home was lovely,
A home I was forced from, oh so brutely.

Dystriem

Their faces all different
and yet all the same,
there was relief to have home
and yet still some shame.

"Do not worry Tequila,
It'll shelter us so.
And to you Mikon,
scavenging is what we know.
"

I pause for a moment,
banner held still as eyes close.
My dial tilts back,
and waft the air with my nose.

"The sun is setting,
the dark growing ever near.
Should we scavenge tonight,
or take hunt on some deer?
"

My stomach was growling,
quietly, but still growling.
so hungry was I,
I would chance novice prowling.

I look for their response
be it positive or not
but damn how much I wish
I could eat a horse in this very spot.

Mikon

I wasn't so sure
if we would endure,
But Dystriem knows best,
he knows where to rest.

Come near is the sunset,
And child, I will bet,
The moon soon will live,
To fight and to give.

My tail wags one more,
There mas much to be happy for,
Either Prey as our Dinner,
or will trash be the winner?

"I'd wish for deer,"
I decide, the food so near.
But I'll agree with the pack,
for this we do not lack.

Inkalell

A sheepish smile is doned to his words as I dip down my skull,
Though in my mind I don't long mull;
For now the subject has been changed,
Now that we are all arranged.

I do not speak aloud at first,
But dip my head and quench a thirst.
Food may be an issue here,
But for lack of water, we have nothing to fear!

My nose quivers at a distance scent along the bank;
Somewhere a fish is dead in the water, smelling so rank,
"Deer sounds good to me." I reply,
Joining the conversation, "Shall we give it a try?"

Sparks

I smiled a happy smile
For we would catch some deer.
I hadn't had it in a while;
It feels like it's been a year

"Deer sounds great."
So calmly I said.
I can't remember last I ate.
If I waited longer I'd be dead.

Dystriem

I smile as they give responce,
though Tequila has grown quiet.
I tilt my head somewhat then nod
"If deer is what is wanted, I'll try it."

I personally have never hunted,
but it was instinct, wasn't it?
Moving my limbs in front of me I call back.
"Keep up and mind yourself, we don't want to start a riot."

Moving faster now, weaving in and out of trees.
I scent the smell of roasted pig, just what I need; a tease.
I growled under ruffled fur. Golden shafts now standing up.
And through the human land we go, to find some evening sup.

Awe, there is the wilderness, where everything is free.
Dread is what quickly seems to eat and digest in me.
Where bears and lions and tigers do hunger,
and we would just be the appraiser for their dinner.
